if it has drum brakes it is a borg warner 25 spline. if it has disc brakes chances are its probably 28 spline unless someone has done a brake conversion on it. the lsds are 4 pin whereas open centres i think are 2 pin

update: welded all the cooler piping up properly and manufactured an exhaust flange. exhaust should be done just after new years hopefully have to work next week solid.

hey roy cheers for the comments, we tried going around the oil cap but couldnt get it right so i just cut the top off the cap, everything is gona be heat wrapped scored 60m from work the other week, also got some off that sticky heat tape that holden use on their cars, is there anywhere in particular you can get the elbows from and would they need to be welded on? ive stil got a few days before it gets fully welded as the other guy is away. cheers

i have dealt with drivetech coolers for a few years now and never had a problem with any off them, have fitted one of their oil coolers and power steering coolers to my car, every cooler i fitted to vehicles when working for my ex boss was drivetech, very well made unit, kits come with brackets,hoses,clamps etc. personally i wouldnt use second hand shit because you dont know if they are blocked/broken/bent. with the size of cooler required it all depends on how much space you have, as for style well thats up to you.

these are the ones i made. never had any problems and after nearly 2 years they still look like i made them yesterday

looks quite possibly like a std gtr mech diff. it isnt shiny enough to be aftermarket. as for the clunking mechanicals clunk when the wrong oil is put into it. has the oil been changed recently or when it started clunking?

as long as air gets through the coolers it doesnt really matter. i've installed a fairly large one in front of a intercooler on a 5.7l VZ supercharged ute and after some testing the heat from the oil cooler only affected the intercooler by 1deg. if you put it in front of the intercooler you have to watch for your front bar kinking the oil lines and rocks being flicked up from the car in front will damage the cooler and possible make it leak. all these things have to be taken into consideration for a street car

find a decent mechanic who has a diagnostic tester and get them to hook it up. any proper transmission builder should have one. plug it in, check for codes, easy as

did your builder by any chance check the crown wheel runout with a dial gauge/or take a tooth reading(eg put diff shit on the teeth turned it round a few times and seen how it ran) before he pulled it all apart to see if it was slightly bent?
