  5. i had a vg30 turbo on mine. went ok but im now upgrading to td06. my exhaust wheel came off at the track, whacked a std one on to get home and it went better than the vg30, more responsive an wat not. do as roy said. i have a vg30 turbo here with no exhaust wheel if anyones keen aswell
  6. that looks like a subaru rear diff. pull the back cover off and compare the two centres if you have the sti one in your possesion
  7. if you've only got a budget of approx 800 beans theres only 2 choices really, the first an second ones on your list, but wat you've also got to factor in the cost of fitting, machining of flywheel(which you'll have to buy a standard/aftermarket one if you really do have a twin plate) the brass bush that sits in the back on the crank, its going ot turn into an expensive job if you dont know wat your doing. also wats wrong with the current clutch thats in your car?is it worn out/buggered or you just dont like it?
  8. those clips break alllll the time. just plug them back together and wrap a cable tie around them with cable tie going between the two wires on each side, as for the broken wire clean it good an proper solder them back together an maybe put some heat shrink over the wire to cover the join
  9. when you replace the torque converter you'll get a majority of the oil out anyway. try running some 95LE in it, its used in falcons an has the synthetic additive already in it.
  10. yeah u can do that. you can even do it if its all standard you just have to watch you dont kink/overly bend the oil an water lines an bugger them up. thats the easy slack way of doing it. if it were me id pull the whole lot off an reseal it all
  11. theres nuts that hold the turbo onto the manifold unless yours has been messed with. it would be better doing all the gaskets at once instead of one at a time when they blow
  12. err you have to feed the new gasket on over the bolts to locate it right. if you seen the gasket you would know wat im on about
  13. that is a jatco 4n71b. it is out of holden vl commodores, r31 skylines and some mazdas. you would usually find them behind rb30s. if your details are correct then it is out of your r31
  14. its the toque converter locking up. is normal so dont worry. doesnt do it suddenly when cold is cos the oil is still thick. the oil thins out wen hot.
  15. you dont need to relearn the transmission do ya like wat you have to do to magnas
  16. do yous guys stick rubber grease on when you but the gear/pulley back on? this would make it easier to get of next time wouldnt it?
  17. its not good but its not really bad. just keep an eye an ear on it
  18. how much force is being exerted by the pressure plate?
  19. received mine today over here in wa. unit looks well made. cheers heaps sherwin
  20. k here we go 1.But, we put locktight on the flywheels bolts, to realise these c**ts have spigot bushes, will it be easy to crack the bolts again?? just leave it one there you should be able to get it out 2.Whats your tips for getting the bush out? Best option? id use a little bearing puller. or you can use a screwdriver an hammer and be rough. is it buggered and need replacing? 3.Also, what you guys use to align the clutch (if you dont have a clutch aligment tool) i use a imput shaft out of a nissan gearbox 4.Last, Whats that big red cable what looks to be 8guage, what comes off the gearbox with a metal mounting on the end, an earth?? Its long.. (on the manual) thanks! its probly an earth cable. i dont know cos i dnt have one
  21. yeah was gona say it looks a tiny bit like a peugot
  22. pedders do cv/drive shafts now. possibly check them out
  23. try and find an aftermarket radiator with the auto trns inbuilt cooler unit. if you cant i'd probly go for 2 large external coolers, theres a cooler unit getting around that is 2 cores thick and has a thermo fan built onto it with the option of a thermatic switch.
  24. got any pics of the finished product
