I just read this on another forum else where. The OP (in Scotland) had been hit over the face with a bottle and had a knife waved in his face by a bunch of young teenagers. I think this response from another guy sums it all up. It's also somewhat comforting to see that this isn't just a Canberra thing. So the next time some young punk puffs up I think I'll give him a piece of my mind.

I see it when I walk around shopping centers (noteably Tuggers). Packs of them.....all around the same age, thinking they're the boss of the center and can do what they want. Problem is, if you go to teach them a lesson you'd be the one getting in trouble. I blame MTV and bad parenting.

To get a permit you have to be in a gun club and go to a certain number of events each year. And what good's a baseball bat going to do when you're not near the car?? Someone needs to setup a system where the chassis of the car becomes electrified.....a nice bit of 240v down the line would be good. Just hope they don't piss all over your car when it gets em! Actually, what really gets me is apparently alarm systems where you install the siren inside the cabin is illegal??
