OK... i am making my own catch can this weekend 100% plumback, on a rb25det my first question is.... where is the pcv valve?? can someone please circle it in the picture above? I roughly get the idea.. but perhaps a picture of the pcv valve once it has been moved and whatever else that has to be done to it.. and the blocking off of the camcover? 2nd question, where can i get Braided Stainless hoses from? all i have seemed to find are braided sleeves that fit over the original silicon hoses... like this http://i12.ebayimg.com/02/i/01/3e/34/47_1.JPG Is this how it is done, or is there an actual hose that can be purchased sumwhere? my mate has a nicely worked sr20det.. (2002nv if u have seen it around sydney), driven both his car n my rb25det... for some reason i prefer the rb range...

to check the turbo inlet do i disconect the inlet @ the turbo... or can i check the pipe further away from the turbo, so it will be less of a pian in the ass to check?

well i picked up some redline shockprrof on friday... got under the car today and tried to undo the top plug, with no luck... i huff n i puffed to no avail. There seems to be some kind of silicone compound sealing the top bolt in. Can anyone let me know how to loosen this up? or do i have to hire a body builder for 5 minutes? If worst comes to worst how much will a workshop charge me to hoist it up and do the change for me (noting that i will supply them the parts)

went for around a 40 minute drive, warry of the police on double demerit hunt... and looked at the bov afterwards... and there isn't any oil on it... so i am assuming that is is only a minor problem for now... planning on getting a leak down test and compression test done? how much would this roughly set me back? and can any workshop do it? if tests show fine i guess i will install a catch can... if tests show some kind of fault.. i will go from there? how much would UAS charge for a compression n leak test? as i work across the road... so can dro pthe car of in the morning, and pick up after work Also a catch can wil cost around the $100 mark from my knowledge? any suggestions on brands/types/ where to go for installation around hills area?

hmm the dreaded rebuild eh..... if i do need to go rebuild wat will i be looking @... i dont want to really do much of a heavy dudty upgrade... just fix up the engine.. i am happy with my performance atm... I have a FMIC, pod, BOV, cat back exhasut, runnin 9psi high boost... and am happy with it... not really into too much performance....? so what will i need to do in the rebuild you think.. any susgeestions? price ranges so i can start saving up?

sounds right.... as over a week of driving there is only a small amount of oil around the place... what am i looking at for a repair cost if this is the issue?

while i was cleaning my engine bay 2day, i notice some oil around the exit valve on the BOV, and some oil on the undeside of the bonnet where the bov faces... what does this mean, my first thoought was perhaps my turbo is dieing??? any ideas? and what i am lookin at for a repair bill.... please nothing to serious

Hey my gearbox is crunching every now and then, when shifting up to 3rd or 4th (sometimes when driving hard; other times when crusing) ... i am thinkin maybe my syncros are going? I plan on changing the gearbox oil this weekend and seeing how that goes.. however if this doesnt cure my problem, what am I looking at for a repair cost?? sncryo's + labour? rebuild of the gearbox? new gearbox? just so i can see what the best option i can take is.. tnhx

i got similar porblem... on my r33... when i am in first acelerating then put the clutch down, the car dies quickly smoothly... not all the time though going to change the spark plugs this weekend... if that doesn't work, i will think about grounding the fuel pump (will this change my petrol consumption?) if that doesnt work, then i am thinking perhaps change BOV? any thing else any1 can recommend?
