Doubt it, most of the weight of R32-R34 GTR's is at the front. That's why they have such a huge bias towards the front for braking hardware. I asked about upgrading the rears and the advice I got from Racepace was to not bother upgrading the rears. I had Brembo's on the front before the 8 Pot D2's and it feels identical brake bias wise. Good pads and discs and that's all the rear pretty much needs after the front upgrade....... .....Unless of course you're building some kinda track monster, that has had weight reduction/re-distribution and needs to do a gazillion laps on every outing

Yeah when looking for an upgrade I was surprised to discover that the R32/33/34 Brembos aren't much bigger than the standard 4 pot Sumitomos & not worth the upgrade. Problem with ABS kicking in? Tyres possibly? Currently using Potenza RE002 (265's) with BM50 and they can take a fair bit before ABS kicks in.

Interesting. These are the prices I got when looking at this option: $350 ALPHA OMEGA Evo 350mm Brembo billet aerospace alloy caliper adapter kit $850 Pair of Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 Brembo front calipers (used) $120 Brembo caliper rebuild kit for one pair of calipers $200 Brembo brake caliper rebuilding service for one pair of calipers TOTAL = $1520 +cost of Discs and Brake lines. I opted to go for the D2 8 Pot 356mm kit instead. Bigger, cheaper and came with everything required. (and it's all brand new)

It's Tottenham, mate. No real surprises about what happened here. You're lucky the person going for the car didn't go for you. Not the best end of town.

Looking good!

Yeah, I do enjoy the increased pedal modulation/control of the bigger setup. Feels awesome, but like I said before - if someone's pushing them that hard on the road then well..... I'm going to use the D2's for a couple of years and if I'm still doing track days then i'll move to the AP's. AP's are a very nice setup and Racepace do a pretty good kit for a decent price. btw Moving to 32Vspec/33/34GTR Brembos from the standard GTR 4 Sumitomo isn't the best value upgrade. Pad size is hardly any larger if you've ever seen the two side by side. Also I think I saw someone selling a whole parcel shelf in the FS section during the week. Trying to find the link....

Yes, they are heavyish cars - R32 GTR what - 1480KG? Agreed, with everything you've said. But put it into context here - is a road R32 GTR under braked for typical street use? I went from my Brembo setup (almost identical in size to the standard R32 GTR) to 8 Pot D2 Calipers with 356mm. Only diff is how well they hold up to *repeated* hard braking under track use. If someone's frying standard brakes on public roads then it's only about time till something terrible is about to happen.
-
Actually think the standard brakes are going to be a hindrance for a road driven car? Some good pads and fluid and it should be fine for the road, no?
-
surprised about that, seeing as there were more cameras than cars there on the day. I've got some here, not much though. Definitely have to have something mounted in the car, next time. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xk7io1175eb8tl9/6kJyvhN-Pe/Deca2014 (note still uploading one more vid titled "Orange Sil80" at time of posting)

My 32. Had it for 9 years and not a cent spent on the exterior.....yet.

Can't believe these are so hard to get. I went to a self serve wrecker one day for some parts for the old daily, they ended up having the wreck of a 32GTS-T there. Grabbed a heap of interior bits and pieces from it, including whole parcel shelf with everything on it and the guy at the counter let me take it all - no charge. Got lucky. They pop up on e-Bay once in a while but I haven't seen any for a while.

These were on my car when it was imported. Were on the car in storage, unused for a few years and replaced after my rebuild with custom re-valved Bilsteins. Typical firm Japanese setup. Don't know what the spring ratings are however photos of what's on them is below. Melbourne, Hawthorn East- $350 + Shipping 0425 730 031

Thanks for putting up how you did your side skirts. Give me a much better idea how to do mine, come time! Fantastic work. Looks so much better! -
Some photos from the event. Sun in my eye! Black & White - PaulR32GTR's car after we had a Motorkhana battle. What an animal! Car ran perfectly all day without a hitch. Very happy with it. Possibly a hill climb next, followed by a track day but before that some changes coming next time she goes into RPM for a service.
