  1. No, no! Only 4 people in the whole world want one. Prices will go down..... Just saw this on FB... So many established and emerging markets competing soon.
  2. I'm a bit different - I'd take a GTR over a EVO for a track car still. More $ but more fun and if I learn how to steer it properly - be faster.....if they don't explode Road on the other hand - EVO all the way. It is more practical being a Lancer after all....
  3. A properly tweaked one around a proper track like Phillip Island they are!.................if they don't break. Lets not forget they were designed as a tarmac circuit racer. They weren't that refined next to cars designed to be fast taxi's even in their day. Take them to the track and if they don't explode, you'll do well against most things - if you know how to steer.
  4. I think some people are getting cars confused with designer jeans
  5. You don't need every American. Just a very fraction of a fraction. That's the beauty of having such a massive population. We're a bit spoiled here in Aus as we've always had them, been able to easily/cheaply import them, and have taken them for granted. As mentioned there were very low numbers produced when looking at it from a global demand point of view - and now we will need to compete with a very large rich country when buying one. And....they've already started to go north in price in a big way. Fact. (This is referring to decent examples and of GTR's only)
  6. no one will ever been keen on R33's ......(runs for cover) Wonder what will happen when the stock in Japan gets low and then the US market realises theres a heap here in countries like ours?
  7. I don't fancy the idea of driving say Melb>Syd with no cruise control. It's not 1975.
  8. That's already well and truly on the way. Early model 32's have become legal in America. 34's have jumped in cost already in Japan. http://www.classicandperformancecar.com/nissan/skyline/4725/nissan-skyline-r32-values-double-in-japan Think of it this way. They made millions of Mustang's, and they're still worth an absolute mint. The most "common" GTR is the 32 with 44k odd produced. Do the math. The prices have already started to jump by leaps and bounds and they'll continue that way as younger generations get more cash + they become even more rare + American market is now open.
  9. lol if you ever do, let me know. I'm getting weak in my old age and really would like cruise control.
  10. They were a great "GT" car back in the day. It's classic motoring now! Steady on, he's not complaining That said most of our cars (inc your's and mine) are too highly modified to be comfortable. Fairly standard with nice road type coilovers (Bilsteins etc) they're great. Change every bush to urethane/metal, stiffer sway bars, large loud exhausts, roll cages, after market diffs, heavy clutch, harder track orientated (or just crap) suspension and so on and they start to be come a pig. You're right mate, as I said, they are a great GT car still however I think there are better cars to do huge KM's on. They don't even have cruise control.... You can do countless miles on the road and they won't miss a beat. Put them on a track on a hot day and see how it goes. Perfect stress test.
  11. But what percentage of the population lives out in the nullarbor? I.e. Most of us don't live in the middle of no where If I was doing a lot of straight line driving damned if I'm going to do it in a 32-34. If you're going to granny it everywhere you don't need ATTESSA... or any sort of performance car. However, as has been said here before. You can't experience these cars to their full potential on the road. (Idiots put aside)
  12. I should print a large version of this and put it up in the garage next to my car.
  13. Lol And Even Nissan realized how bad a combo it was and canned it
  14. Yes but they're so much better with diffs and transfer case/4wd mods!
  15. I went from a 32 GTST to a GTR - Admittedly it's a pretty unsuitable system for normal road use as it requires traction loss before it engages but it nevertheless does come in handy in wet/slippery conditions. Amazing how many times I've looked down while driving in a straight line in the wet and notice the 4wd gauge moving. But yes 4wd, rb26/ twin turbos etc do add complication.
  16. lol true Yep very possible to get them out, as if they're worn they need to replaced to keep the car roadworthy. Never done it myself though
  17. Replace existing pedals with cheapy, non GTR ones then drill? btw are they the R34 metal ones? Aren't they defectable?
  18. Covers arrived back from Craved Coatings yesterday. The below photo still doesn't do them justice. They're a deep metallic candy red. Pretty close to how I originally painted them. Will take a better photo of them in better light once they're on the car.
  19. Fair enough. Did you end up getting a Nismo footrest?
  20. Well it's been off the road for a while so will take some "bedding" in to get all the small bits sorted. But - they're good little problems to have that you can fix yourself. I'm not looking forward to the bits and pieces that my one will need sorting after being off the road for an year The one with the cup holder? I've owned an R32 since 2002 and man the amount of R32 stuff i've dumped over the years that's worth money now......speaking off I should go look through that box of R32 stuff i have and see what Nismo goodies I can dig up and offer with ridiculous prices to you
  21. be a bit bit fiddly but should be able to solder is back on. May have to take a the plug apart some how.
  22. They moved your car outside?
  23. haha 44% are grey so I can see where you're coming from. I do think it's a great colour though. Guess what only 12.9% in black - 5666 cars. No colour change needed here. .........just someone employed full time to keep it clean.
