Happy Friday! Just got this picture back from Craved Coatings of the finished product. Cost around $308 including courier back to me. Should last for another 3 rebuilds at least Hopefully they arrive Mon/Tue. Gotta book the car in at Racepace now, which will make it a bit more than a year since the last motor died.

Looks like someone got a bargain. Congrats on the sale.

"There are a lot of beautiful cars here at the New York Auto Show, but the most head-turning ones on the floor aren't new. In fact, a few of them are really old. Nissan, which is here this week to show off the updated GT-R, has assembled a handful of classic Skylines dating back as far as 1969. Relax, mate. I apologise if the way i phrased it upset you. Also a 32 GTR is less refined than a 34. Fact. It is also 80% the same car as a 34. I got my 32R when it was 15 years old from Japan (2004) so I know as do a lot of folks on here how much they (32-34R) cost to build and run. A 34R is now as old or older than mine when I got it. btw I didn't generalise as to why it wasn't good advice. I was quite specific. All good Derrick, it is the internet. Bonus fact - 1. I wish I had bought an EVO, had more seat time on the track over the years and saved all that cash that goes towards having a GTR. To the OP. If you want a Skyline. A GTS/T/25T/GTT will still be around in years to come and stay cheap.

So wait 2-5 years. Save for a R34R which is currently appreciating in leaps and bounds and will be probably be min 65k+ for price of entry (conservative guess). Then hope like hell things don't start breaking (which they will as 32-34R's are all ancient now). Good advice.

Hi mate, 3M Automotive double sided tape. Also 3 screws that go into the OEM locations, two in the wheel arch, behind the rear wheel and one underneath. I've found the 3M tape to be more than enough. I had to cut the doubel sided tape used on the previous fibreglass copies with sharp guitar strings as it wouldn't come off without breaking the pods straight off.

Realized they were small as I recognized the Razer mouse mat I dunno about incorrect badges on cars.... Look forward to seeing how they look. You need to get this thing back and enjoy driving it again
-
You're joking right? In case anyone mistakes it for a Lamborghini? Besides the GT badges on the side are a generational thing like the distinctive rear lights. Why remove them?
-
Awesome but sad. List of work done?
-
Canberra life - it takes 3 months to tune e85 and more than 1 year to complete minor work on a motor.
-
Nice, hopefully they can get it all sorted soon. I was secretly hoping to get my car back in a couple of months a beat you to it
-
Is that the last outstanding item before you get it back?
-
Yay. What's up with the car?
-
Rust on all of them 32-34 (being so old) is imminent if they're being used regularly and haven't been maintained. A 34 is 15-17 years old. My car was 15 years when I first bought it and has essentially been kept in storage for most of that time. I've seen 34R's driving around in worse condition now.

Rear diff is screwed?

You've changed.

Also got around to fitting the genuine Nismo rear pods Felt like ground hog day doing this again. Genuine items being rubber however are easier to fit and reach all the way to the rear bar unlike what the copies did. Hard to tell the difference from these photos but they also mold a lot better around the body, being rubber.

Sunday - "Complete The +1's Session" Decided to try satin black for the top of the headlights. Came out pretty close to the standard colour. Note I didn't take off all the old paint before spraying and one headlight, the paint bubbled up , and had to be re-done. So if you're going to try this, rub down the old paint, as you'll find it's just barely on there after so many years of heat. Fixing all the little things like this makes a noticeable difference. Much neater. The GKTech air deflector and front grill are now calling out to me. Cam Covers Packed and sent off to be powder coated. Lets see how I go with this. Engine bay will look a lot better when the motor goes in this time around.

Hi mate, nope wasn't mine Still finishing little bits and pieces off slowly at home before giving it back to them. Speaking of finishes touches. Replaced the A-clamps for the hydraulic lines that go on the firewall, with nice new replacement items. Checkout the colour difference between an old one and a new item. I've noticed 34R's have the same issue now that they're getting up there as well. There's just something very satisfying about putting brand new, oem bits in.... Engine bay almost complete. Just have to clean up the replacement overflow bottle before putting it back in. Although the worn out paint on top of the headlights are now seriously bothering me. Anyone repainted their ones? If so what gloss high temp paint did you use? I may wait until the motor is back in before getting this done. That way I can use the headlights to heat up and harden the paint. Genuine Nismo rear rods painted. The only rubber Nismo body items for a 32R that don't suck. Am really glad I got my hands on these genuine items. Now to fit the suckers......
