dude, first thing i'd do is drop the car into someone who knows Skyline suspension well and let them put it on a hoist. There maybe the possibility that the car has been in a kerb type incident previously or something has been bent some how. Fix the problem not the symptoms kinda thing
easy. The 4 mounting points in the back of a Shkyrhine have soft rubber bushes which have too much movement hence you get "tramping" on heavy launches. "Pineapples" are hard polyurethane bushes which essentially squish the rubber bushes and make everything nice and tight on all four mounting points which means less movement = less tramping.
btw I thought 33's didn't tramp like 32's and s13's ?
well my car is having the whole front end suspension re-built pretty much as i'm changing everything I can at the moment to improve handling. That diagrams looks *very* similar to the GTS-T. One thing that definately does seem diff is the cross-member.
There will be other small differences but the basic setup should be the same.
heh i'm not sure why ppl say this from time to time as the interior trim on both cars isn't that different. They both have a different feel in that the 32 is more of a ****pit type feel while the 33 is roomier.
Both have their charms and pitfalls. (tall people have a hard time in the drivers seat of the 32 etc)
The exterior design is subjective - for example there are also people out there who think all Skylines look crap.
As for more features on a 33 ??
yeh the amp is going good man. I got rid of that huge sub box I had and now have 2x 10" Pioneer subs in a much lighter box so i'm happy with the weight.
Yeh wish somone has a cruise soon so we can meetup or something. We should maybe organise something as I know a few people around our area that might be up for it.
yeh i'm in awe of the almighty H-pattern rule too.
Actually they could have got me for H-pattern, padded centre, turbo timer and then theres the slight problem of the exhaust having the same "feature" as your car Jamezilla that makes it breath fire
Well we all know it would happen eventually. Had the Skyline for more than 1 year - not one incident with the police. Got pulled over just before by the orange "V8 Police" Monaro just outside the city today on the way to work.
They had stopped someone else on the other side of the road but quickly did a u-turn after they saw me go past and pulled me over. Thought it might have been cause I went a little quick around a corner but he asked me to pop the hood instead.
Police : Sounds like you have a BOV. (looking around the engine bay)
Me : Yeh theres a stock and legal factory one. Might be because i've got a pod filter.
Police : Yeh well its aftermarket.
Me : Yes (its a legal paper one so i'm not worried)
Police : Looks a little low (starts looking under the car)
Me : Yeh its lowered a little but I notice its higher than your car (which it is)
Police : Thats a very big exhaust. (i've got a 5Zigen exhaust with 4" tip)
Me : yeh its pretty quiet tho. You can hear your car over mine.
Police : yeh well you better get your suspension bushes looked at. (huh?)
They then took all my details down. Hope I don't get anything in the mail. Funny thing is when he was trying to say the exhaust was loud. You couldn't even hear that the car was on over the noise of traffic and the V8.
Not that bad a experience although he looked kinda dissapointed he didn't find anything wrong and quickly dismissed me and told me to get on my way and ignored my question as to if i'd receive anything in the mail.
doesn't matter if you have 4 turbo's as long as its 125kW/tonne you're ok.
I'm also suprised (and maybe a little glad) that the power/weight ratio isn't policed too often.
nothing unusual with that at all. It is good value for money considering it is a supercar. (if its not a dud) I'm suprised its not going to be more expensive.
really? I thought that would have been the non turbo variation. Think of it this way as far as the overall picture goes, an S13 would definately be rated lower in the Nissan performance food chain.
