Interesting. I have no such issues with that wing on my GTR on the track. Nor have I heard of anyone else having issues like you describe with standard wing. Possibly a problem elsewhere that a big GT wing will only mask? Btw also I notice your car is super low. From my conversations with the ppl that built my GTR this is not ideal due to roll centers etc. Also I've noticed that they've setup my car with the front visibly higher than the rear. I can only assume this is due to needing front suspension travel and having a front heavy car with a cast iron block. "About a 100mm off the ground at lowest point is about right" Either way the handling is night and day compared to when I first got it from Japan when it was super low with rock hard spring rates. Now running Racepace coilovers with white line sway bars and some minor bushes changed here and there. Looking forward to seeing what the final solution is for you

First update for 2016 - haven't neglected the car totally. Baby steps... Found a nice clean windscreen washer bottle in my parts bin to replace the ageing yellow one. More importantly got busy with the rest of the engine bay and finally finished it all. Didn't think there was much difference in the final result until, I did an A to B comparison. So much time spent taking all the little clips and bits off and putting them back on.... A few +1's cleaned up too - Painted in Satin Black : Transmission tunnel, injector resistor pack and bonnet stand Painted in Gloss Black : Power steering reservoir. The clips for the ABS lines will be replaced with brand new items I have here. Next stop - paint & fit genuine Nismo rear pods.

Interesting. What is it valued at now and what are you trying to raise it to? I'm going to raise the value of my 32R soon too. (currently at 30-35k - will need to double check my paperwork)

punishment for buying a Cube?

Interesting. When I joined last year they asked for specific mods. The list was so long I had to email it to their admin staff. The printout I got in the mail is so long it runs onto the return slip on the bottom.

Nice work. I had something similar but with drift sales. Dunno how I'll sleep at night now that drift sales is out of my life

R32 Gtr Ab Flug Front Diffuser

Sorry to go off topic, mate but what size/offset wheel and what size tyre is that? Looks good. -
Got my renewal in the mail today. $226. Pretty sure that's the same as last year. $35,000 agreed value, vehicle on club permit. Point of interest : I've had a no fault claim in the last 12 months so called up after reading the new clause - "no claims or incidents within the past 2 years". Answer was yes, I could still renew as the change won't come into affect until next year.

Everyone keeps calling it "registration". It's a permit. Think of it as an unregistered vehicle permit with a log book.

5L Fuel sample done. Gotta drop it in to the analysis place now. Also found the reason why my fuel gauge stopped working after one of the motorkhana's, but more on that later. Started to strip, bag and tag as much I can from the engine bay. Going satin black as it'll be easier to maintain. Anyone know of a place in Melbourne that can fix the damaged paint on my VIN no? At a guess i'd also assume the clips holding it in are hard to get a hold of?

Finally - an update! Bottom line with the motor is that there was low compression on all cylinders. Ouch. No damage through turbo/intake side so maybe fuel contamination? Damage apart from rings etc isn't catastrophic however there will be a fair bit of labour involved. Bearings and crank are ok. Brief rundown on work to be completed : Clean head, test head, surface Strip the block down to bare New set of rings. Ceramic coat pistons. All new gaskets. Machine block – new pattern in bore, surface block, clean. Clean everything and reassemble long motor. Re-assemble manifolds (intake and exhaust sides), fit motor and box, tidy up. Oh joy. Racepace want's to know the course of the failure before rebuild so now that i'm sufficiently motivated, i'll need to organise a fuel sample. (Had filled up just before the session where it went bang) So the question - Engine bay respray : Gloss or satin black?

LOL thats awesome. Fingers crossed but I don't think my $216 premium is going to get any cheaper

D2 8 Pot 356mm Brake Kit R32/33 Gtr.
RBN1 replied to Piggaz's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Just by looking at the photo's I can tell you they won't fit. The caliper won't clear the inner diameter. As mentioned previously, a big clearance, forged race rim like TE37, LMGT4 in 17" will clear. edit: This is a photo of mine. -

What wheels do you have? The smallest wheels I have are TE37 17x9 +0 and the caliper sits a bit over 10mm from the inside of the wheel (the spokes have plenty of clearance). -

They also fit 17" wheels with bigger clearance like TE37's etc -
It does. I've lost momentum recently and this is why. Leaving in the morning, earlier in the year in March. Winton Circuit Club Track day. This is how the car left the March Circuit Club Winton track day. The motor didn't fare too well unfortunately. Thanks to team gtr_jet for getting the car home. Would have been majorly screwed otherwise. Sat on it for a couple of months then finally got it sent to Racepace. Ahh the natural home of a raced GTR - on the back of a tow truck. Racepace were nice enough to pay for tow back. Sitting back at home now in it's current state. Least I get to paint the engine bay now, I guess. I'll post up later on when I get time what we know so far. Guesses on what went wrong?

Equal Length Front Pipe Made In Sydney?
RBN1 replied to mr skidz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
When RPM built my car I asked about the difference and they let me know it's only sound. I would have gone one of their tuned length ones but didn't due to trying to limit costs at that stage, didn't. In retrospect I should have gone with the equal length as that's what my car had previously and they do sound awesome. -

RBN1 replied to allgtr32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
thanks Those particular ones got stolen at the docks when the car arrived here. You can buy heaps of different ones from here (took me 7 years to find replacements) - http://www.protex.com/61-655M1SS-adjustable-latch-with-safety-catch-medium-duty-stainless-steel-natural
