ok was driving the other day at 2am in the morning and made a stop to check the street directory. I noticed the HICAS light came on and the the steering wheel started to flick a little to one side by itself! It stopped so I continued driving. Made another stop in a car park and once again the HICAS light comes on and the steering flicks slightly.
This time I didn't take any chances. Turned the car off then tried to start it up again - nothing! It just makes a clicking noise from the starter? and thats it. Next day went back to it and it starts fine all off a sudden after a whole heap of goes. No problems ever since.
Anyone got any suggest wtf this weird problem might be?
hey u guys are lucky you actually got the proper master key. I only got a valet/slave key with mine!
Managed to buy a blank master GTR key from Nissan for $38 tho so I might get a lock smith to make a master key for me.
yeh you might be right there. The one thing that is sure to be a Type-M is to look for the 4pot brakes if the 16" GTR type mags have been replaced by aftermarket rims.
I'm not too sure about the side and rear skirts. I did *a lot* of research into what was a Type-M before I got my car and side skirts and rear pods don't seem to be a determining factor.
Take a look at the attached pic - its a good guide to what is a Type-M
ok got the replacement control arm, finally got the mobile mechanic to take take the old one off and we find that the replacement one doesn't fit! arrrgh!
now I'll have to wait for the wreckers to open up on Monday to replace it!
Wasn't doing anything too fancy. I had just finished going up a hill and was a bit of a turn up ahead. The car ended up pointing towards the other lane after the blowout which is where it all went bad.
Hey either keep the car straight and go into on coming traffic or try and correct before I end up becoming chop suey.
Only reason why I'm alive now is because the Skyline does handle so well!
btw The rear right lower control arm is bent. Apparently around $180 to get another one. Doesn't seem to bad. Hopefully nothing else is stuffed
well i was going to post something with a bit of a introduction since its been barely a month since I finally got my R32 GTS-T but unfortunately my post is going to be a bit of a sad one.
Was driving home tonight at 80km/h (the legal limit i might add) and heard a loud bang. Back of the car lurched and the car spun and the back right hand side hits a huge dip on the other side of the road backwards. (this whole incident happens in the blink of an eye)
Anyway getting out of the car its obvious that I had had a blow out. Unfortunately hitting the huge dip on the other side of the road has caused some damage and the wheel is bent at a pretty big angle now
Hopefully nothing else like the HICAS is damaged
Great just got a new clutch put in and this has to happen....
Funny part of the story is that the car following me didn't even stop and help
Damn it sounded like the cruise got better after the last stop to Arthurs Seat! Too bad the clutch starting to slip like mad on my car and I had to turn back
Was having fun with some of the twisties there too. Ahh well....
