32 Gtr N1 Side Skirts.
RBN1 replied to allgtr32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Actually no, it isn't Came with the car from Japan when I got it back in 2004. It's a fibreglass boot lid with some sort of lip that's built in. Haven't seen another one like it. -
Double sided tape + clips. Water, dust and grime deteriorate the tape on the underside of the car. Plus it's super easy to line up with the clips.
-
Just double sided tape won't do it. Maybe for the guard section, in front of the rear wheel. I mounted mine a few months ago. (3m tape). If you don't have the clips then sikaflex may be a option. Best option is getting the clips and doing it properly. Good info - slowridn73. They're a pain to track down part numbers etc

lol. You guys talking about this? - http://www.nationalregistration.com.au/media-release.htm should probably read the fine print "This document has not been issued by the Commonwealth Government and its contents is entirely fictional. There is no such person as the 'Minster for Vehicles', no such department as the 'Commonwealth Department of Vehicles' and certainly no 'National Vehicle Registration & Number Plate Scheme'. This fake media release has been produced solely for the purposes of an April Fool's joke aimed at personalised and custom number plate owners. If you have been fooled it is your own fault for not reading the fine print!"

Antz 1994 R32 Gtr Project & Restoration
RBN1 replied to Ants's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
probably referring to getting a 32R shell then paying the $ to get it up to scratch etc, would cost the same as getting a 33R? I'm going to weigh in my 2c here. Regardless of subjective aspects like looks, the 33 is a better car. Wouldn't be a bad move if someone was so inclined. Fix the chassis, Ants! -

32 Gtr N1 Side Skirts.

The Nismo rear pods? Good luck with that. One of the rarest body parts for a BNR32 I have FRP copies from Japan and they cost $360 delivered! They're for sale though as I managed to buy a genuine rubber set (after having to sell myself on a street corner for a week) -
Paid. I'm going to put one of my SAU stickers on my laptop, right next to my Racepace sticker. Makes it go faster.

R33 Gtr Tyre Reccomendations?
RBN1 replied to RB335's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Don't bother with Re002's. Sidewalls aren't stiff enough for a heavyish car like a GTR. I used my brand new ones for 5000kms then replaced them with AD08r's. -
Too true. Except I wouldn't say minimal corners. The tighter the corners the more a 32-34 GTR will lose to S2000's, 86's etc. Fast sweeping corners on the other hand the GTR's will do well on. (i.e Phillip Island)

Same with VIC

Just don't use the car as a daily driver and you're insured. Enjoy the cheap insurance for your second car that you use mainly for recreational purposes, doing limited km's per year.
-
? No we don't need a spokesman/woman/cat/mouse. I suggest you take a read of your insurance policy. They're just wording it so policy holders are not using their cars as daily drivers and are using it mainly for recreational purposes. Again - read your insurance policy.

Yeah tell me about it, can't believe it's taken them that long just to send that. In for BBQ

Email just came in. Circuit Club <[email protected]> 2:17 PM (3 minutes ago) to info Hi, Winton track day is just around the corner! Here are some details for the event. Any questions let me know. 7.30: Gates open. Come in, prep your car and get ready for scruitineering. Cars will be inspected in your garage. They will be checked for secure battery, cleaned out interior and working brake lights. Your car must also have a muffler fitted. 8.45: Compulsory drivers briefing. If you're not here by now you might miss your first session. 9.00: Track sessions start. We will be running 4 groups. The first set of sessions will be untimed, and passengers will be allowed. The next rotation will be timed, no passengers. We will alternate like this until the end of the day. 5.00pm: Track close- pack up and get home safe. All drivers and passengers must wear long sleeves, pants, closed shoes and approved helmet. Cheers, Adrian

Interesting. I like a lot of people on here have another car that is used as a daily. The wording on the policy is interesting to say the least. That said, as far as i'm concerned whenever I get into it, it's for recreational purposes.....

With SAU VIC Winton track day just around the corner I had the realisation that I needed to get the standard bootlid/spoiler setup back on stat. Didn't have any time left so spent a couple of nights with $120 worth of paint supplies. Didn't expected a pro result but it'll get me by for the 2015 season at least. Didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would be. (although I wish I had an effective way of baking the panels afterwards). Orange peel galore atm. Will wait a couple of months for it to all harden properly before giving it a good polish. Rear badge removed off the old fibreglass bootlid, cleaned up and 3M double sided tape applied. Spent ages measuring and getting the badge on exactly in the right spot to the mm. (11mm from the bottom, 30mm from the right) - SAU to the rescue once again with that info. Lots of sweat involved in this task. The photo of an 32GTR with factory bits isn't amazing to anyone but me.... For the first time in 10years since I've had the car. Rear spoiler! Spent quite a while looking at it, last night. <Sob> Soooooo changes the look of the car. The fibreglass boot lid that the car came with from Japan. Impressive quality and very light. Will be hanging onto this. Next stop. Boot lip. The one I have has a few holes that need to be fibreglass, patched up so that will have to wait.

I'm heading off from Pascoe Vale in the morning. What time is everyone driving up? I take it I should give up on waiting for an itinerary to be released?
