  1. Scott had the same problem on my RS4 and it turned out to be the switch in the door, bad contact but the switch was a nightmare to pull apart and re-assemble, all the little balls and copper rocker pads kept falling out. Eventually the window failed altogether and this turned out to be a blown connector in the 4 window switch in the drivers door but an electrician friend soldered it and no more problems, don,t know if this is any help but if you do tackle it yourself take plenty of patience pills
  2. I,m coming to like the m35 more and more and yes its a 250rst. I do a lot of h/way work so am starting to anticipate when I need to kick down, bit like turbo lag need to be in front of the game. Haven,t played with tipotronic much as still half a sleep in morning and to much traffic in afternoon in case I stuff it up.
  3. Afraid the rest of car will be as standard as all my money goes on my Anglia race car and the bride says either race car or fast road car, not both. Gerry
  4. I live on the Gold Coast Andy so will be talking to Chris in Brisbane in the next couple of weeks as I still have a few things to sort out electrically. The car came with Nismo shocks and springs so maybe the stiffer sway bars could be the go, where are they obtained from and what sort of money. The car is a 250t RS and i,ve already done a scoop for the induction in front of the air cleaner, don,t know if it improves performance but sounds good, even the trouble and strife likes the induction noise. Looks like the reverse camera needs Chris,s attention so will have to wait on that one.
  5. I,ve had my M35 for a week now and have come to a few conclusions. Firstly its not as sporty as my rs4, tends to wallow in the corners, secondly that delay on kickdown is a pain in the bum and thirdly its a really nice car to drive and is giving reasonable fuel mileage, although the performance is a little down on one I drove previously so hope that will improve with more use. Still can,t figure that bloody screen out and if anybody has a factory reversing camera would appreciate the sequence of how to get it to work or perhaps mine is rooted.
  6. Ok I,m an idiot found out today it does have chains.
  7. Anybody know the part no. for cam belt either genuine or after market and availible in Oz
  8. My M35 was at last ready for pick up on friday after god knows how many weeks, I,ve lost track. Presentation of the car was attrocious but after 2 full days of cleaning and polishing it now resembles a car to be seen in. It came with factory bodykit and Nismo shocks and springs and is finished in dark blue so if you see me on the Gold Coast give us a wave. As for the pop up screen I,m totally confused never seem to get the same info twice but any help will be appreciated. Would I do it again, don,t know, saved a few dollars but the waitings a killer, the compliance guy said he knew some horror stories of people importing cars that ended up in court. Ken James on 0417 875 440 is the man to talk to for M35 spares and is a nice guy to deal with.
  9. Hugh you live up the hill and I live at the bottom at Upper Coomera, are you going on the cruise on Sept.20, I will if I ever get the bloody car out of compliance, not their fault government bureaucracy dragging their heels.
  10. Thanks for that as need to spend wisely as compliance is costing more than I hoped, new cat needed, tyres look good on internet!
  11. Has anybody tried the Kumho KU23 tyres on a M23 Stagea as I,ve been offered a set at silly money for compliance.
  12. Sounds good to me hopefully will have the m35 out of compliance by then and look forward to a good run. When will you decide meeting place as I live 2mins from BP Coomera
  13. AAIP in Brisbane are advertising an M35 for wrecking, email [email protected]
  14. Had same issuses with my 97 rs4, after taking car to Gaven Woods on Gold Coast turned out to be dry soldered joints in air flow meter, problem sorted. Car now sold and awaiting m35 from Japan.
  15. Just returned from the Gold Coast where a certain gent, who wishes to remain anonymous, has made me a towbar to tow my 61 Ford Anglia sprint car, but he tells me he won,t do anymore as they are a real bitch to do so thats another avenue for towbars closed shame as he,s done a real nice job. Gezzer
  16. A good source for Stag parts is Steve Taylor of RMA Spares on the Gold Coast no. 0755327914 he,s got access to parts here or in N.Z. give him a ring. Gerry
  17. Guys have been attacked by a Holden ute and need a complete R/H tailight unit and Stagea spares up here in downtown Hervey Bay are as rare as rocking horse dung, can anybody help with contacts for parts before the boys in blue top up there coffers with my hard earned. Cheers Gerry
  18. Many months ago i reported my stagea suffered from jerking at cruising speeds above 80ks which was a real pain in the rear end!! After talking to many experts, most of which weren,t worth a squirt of goat s--- I recently fitted 4 new tyres as my old tyres were the same size but different brands front and rear and behold one smooth and enjoyable stagea, so fellow stagea owners learn from my mistakes, all I need now is to reduce the fuel consumption must be something to do with that right foot. Cheers
  19. Muck looks like you could be on to the cause of the stuttering Stagea problem. Spoke to a Subaru mechanic and they are highly sensitive to tyre size, its to do with the centre diff so will check rolling circumference and he also suggested changing g/box oil also a problem on certain cars. will keep you posted cheers Gez
  20. Help my fellow Stagea pilots I have a stuttering Stagea. My car is a 97RS4 of low ks only mod K&N filter, when I get to my cruising speed 80-120ks and ease back on the gas the car starts to stutter as though its missing, starved of fuel, etc but this can be overcome by applying more or less throttle until it does it again which becomes tiresome on a journey. I contacted a known Skyline/Stagea expert on the Gold Coast, I live in Hervey Bay, who recomended I disconect the pipe coming from the throttle body to the charcoal filter at the filter end and it worked but alas the stutters have returned so I need help as no one up here has a clue, only recognise Fowlcans and Commondores. Cheers Gez
  21. Just insured the stagea for the second year with Torque, cost $843 full comp. but I,m an old fart so maybe they felt sorry for me. Tried all the other companies but Torque was cheapest
  22. have spoken to supplier of module in UK who have been using one on R33 with good results. Wifes Focus has one and it has better hp and marked improvement in mpg. Have one for Stagea but yet to fit, will post results
