  1. i can change the channel when the car is in tv mode... too bad i dont have a tuner... ive looked at this one for a while http://www.marinedirect.com.au/catalogue/c1968/p101984 if there is a plug that connects the rear of the xanavi head unit to the old tv tuner, that changes the channel... i think you can get an adapter to plug into the rs232c plug at the rear of this unit, which will mean you can navigate through the channels as if the car was standard ... hopefully and its for marine use so it should have pretty good pickup
  2. spotted s2 white or silver goin under mulgoa rd -m4 bridge out in penrith around 6-630 wednesday night... its good to see a few out west

  8. spotted white and silver series 1 stags at jindabyne last week the silver one had qld plates and was parked in the thredbo carpark... i flashed the white one as they were driving towards thredbo on snowy mountains highway no flash or wave back tho
  9. hey sorry for bringing up an old thread... but still on topic... ive deisgned a system that holds open the BOV (plumb back system standard rb25 s2 stagea) even when you have your foot down... ive designed it using ball valves for now but for the next few weeks i will be testing it and if it helps out with the fuel economy i will hook it up using solenoid valves... there is a noticeable difference in power and i will find out about the fuel economy in the weeks to come... its good on the highway and up small hills but you'll need to pull it back a gear if you're driving up big hills... eventually i will have a switch in-car which will basically switch the turbo on and off my main concern with this is will the computer sense that the car is running off boost and adjust the air/fuel ratio to suit??? or at 3000 rpm the computer thinks usually there is X ammount of boost therefore it needs x ammount of fuel... there is a boost sensor which i think controls this but im not 100% sure... i can easily install a bypass that will hold this boost sensor signal under vacuum but once again im not sure if it will work
  10. spotted white ser 1 stagea in the backstreets of jindabyne last monday long w.e lunchtime
  11. a mate of mine tried getting SH78OX and they wouldn't even give him that wouldn't mind getting a hold of FKUPIG, show em wat i think
  12. hey, nice plates i dont like the price tags they put on them... my old man pays 400 for his... im glad i only pay 60 bucks for mine... they wont be on my stagea for too long, as soon as my 31 wagz is done they will migrate over
  13. Howdy just a quick question, which may not turn out to be quick in regarding a turbocharged car (skylines in general), when your sitting on 110 - 120 ks on a straight flat road doing 2500 -3000 rpm, if the car is making boost will it use more fuel than a naturally aspirated car of the same displacement, say for arguments sake an rb25det vs rb25de... what if you could hold the waste gate or a plumbed back blow off valve open so that it makes no boost... will fuel consumption figures increase or decrease... if this is possible what is the best way to stop an engine making boost the BOV or the waste gate... Thinking out aloud i would think it would be better to hold the waste gate open so that the turbo wont spin as fast and recycling the air through a plumbed back BOV might result in weird air recycling in turn the AFM may play up Please remember im only talking in generalization and for all intensive purposes of the question the engines are standard Cheers Rick
  14. spotted a white ser 2 stagea parked at penrith station yesterday and a second white ser 2 driving down prospect highway blacktown on me way to tafe tonight bout 530.. both standardish looking
  15. picking up my stagea wednesday counting down the hours 1999 rs4 prime ed.. nice and standard... for now... car will be my run around car... ive been a member on here for a few years now, i am currently building a series 3 r31 wagon with a RB25DET NEO for my sunday driver...
  16. Make: Subaru Model: Impreza MY05 Milage: 63000 ks Transmission: 5 speed manual Colour: light blue Location: Sydney - Mulgoa Complied? yep RWC supplied? n/a Currently registered? July i think Price: $ 23000 Negotiable Contact: Rick 0450 601 631 Comments / Modifications: No modifications. Good clean car not many around in this colour i originally bought the car from a bloke in Melbourne as there weren't any manual hatchbacks around Sydney... The 2.5 litre rs has plenty of torque which reduces the need to pull it in fourth to maintain speed on highway driving. it comes standard with the wrx interior climate control, cruise and electric everything... it costs me 1000 to insure the car with just cars im 22 years old with no traffic fines/ incidents... sad to see the car go... selling due to a sports injury, my knee plays up when i drive for a long time round the city going on and off the accelerator / clutch so looking for an auto... Last of the 2.5 litre imprezas even the new RS is 2 litre which shocked me Images: to come soon
  17. which wheels does it come with???
  18. hey mate i've got a 2005 subaru impreza 2.5l rs manual hatchback light blue good cond 63XXX kms worth about 23K... would you condiser swap with cash adjustment???
  19. hi, im in the process of port matching an rb25 inlet manifold however i noticed just before each pipe goes into the head, there is a small tear drop shaped bump... it has kinda sharp edges, sits 1mm high and doesn't look like its been put there by mistake. it is in the same position on every pipe... any insight into what i should do... im more leaning towards leaving it might have something to do to help the air swirl before the fuel hits it so it can atomize better??? p.s. im not talking about the bump that is the shape of the inlet pipe if you rub inside the pipe you will feel it cheers Rick
  20. ive done a few searches around and come up empty handed so ill make it simple... What flow is better though your intake piping turbulent or laminar (straight, smooth flow)??? in my opinion and this is just assuming so correct me if i'm wrong laminar flow would allow a quicker flow through your intake piping/cooler ect. however turbulent flow would give a better fuel mixture but slow the flow of the air going through your intake... or does it make no difference... what sort of power figures do people start worrying about these issues?? or dont they??? im guessing it would do sweet "f" all to a shitbox hyundai or sumthing.... cheers Rick
  21. any idea on postage price to sydney regarding intake manifold
  22. still got the plenum??? price and postage to penrith, NSW 2750
