just wondering if anybody has made a engine cover for the rb25det neo for the back half of the motor??? i am in the middle of desigining a cover that matches the front cover and it would be good to see how any one else has attacked it thanks neo.bmp

it seems like no matter how much you spend on your alarm system some prick will find a way to disarm and take off in your prized posession... quicktrak is the main one ive heard of and thats prolly the one im gonna go for... as noone will insure my car for the value its worth (r31 wagon rb25det neo + 6grand sound system) this is my best option

depending on the state u live in they might argue that the rb30 is too big but put that aside im pretty sure the motor should bolt straight up to your existing box... you would use the clutch out of the rb30 aswell as the flywheel... and to drop it in you'd have to put the engine mount brackets off ur rb20 onto the rb30... most rb30s have seen their day... unless you get a reco motor expect the annoying ticking of the lifters or just dont thrash it...

i went to autobarn for a r34 manual and it was about 500 hunj... no thanks... i think they did have one for the r33's but it wouldnt be cheap... was there any one topic in particular you wanted or did u just want it for quick reference... i dont like the idea of a manual on cd... you cant flick through and stumble across stuff u never even thought of like u can with the books

if the bloke is just being stubborn and difficult id make him pay it my own way... how much does it cost to replace car windows these days ha ha??? an old spark plug usually does the job without too much noise

hiya watever you do dont use your horn as a siren as some of em do... if someone wants to pinch your car they lean under your car cut the horn wire and they can work silently without anyone knowing

yeh thats correct i have a standard r34 ecu... the one that came out of the car... all i need to do is hook up power to the computer... and to my ignition... and maybe the instruments... thats all i can think of that needs wiring up if i could get a electrical drawing of the ecu out of a r34 i could do it myself and i would know what wires go where... but id rather get someone who knows what they're doing... yes i do have a few plugs without homes but i also have a few plugs from the r31 that dont match up to anything so im assuming one would be speedo ect and the other would be ignition... thats why i need someone who knows what they are doing like urself...

i am using a standard computer (manual) i have the old r31 loom but has been pulled out with the engine... the motor i bought has the original uncut loom there is about three or four plugs that go through the firewall that dont have a home... one of em would go to the trip computer im guessing and maybe one of the other plugs would go to other options in the r34 maybe cruise control that button that baffles the exhaust or sumthing... the loom has been pulled through to the firewall and the old computer and relay has been pulled out... is there anything alse i can do to prepare the electrical myself without chopping and soldering wires??? thanks all for helping

hiya im in the process of modifying a r31 wagon and have come to a halt... i need my engine wired up to the car... its a rb25det neo manual out of a r34... the car was previously manual if that means anything... does anybody know of any good auto sparkies in sydney... someone that knows skylines back to front would be nice thanks all p.s. if its a friend of someones i will be able to pay cash if thats wat they want

my head unit has done that since new... ive had it in for repair and they reakoned there was nothing wrong with it... (pioneer DEHP736) all i did to stop it was put a rocker switch on the remote wire... i turned it on and off before i turned the car off and after i switched it on or change radio stations ect... its a good thing to have if some nice policeman hears you music you can flick a switch and turn just the subs off until he passes on the rca note thanks all for your help i will definately be using the passthrough

ok im running two amps, one for each sub how do i connect them both to the rca outlet on the backof the headunit... through the pass through outlets on one amp to the other... or with a y adapter to each one thanks in advance

howdy, im building a r31 wagon with a r34 rb25det (neo) and i want to get it engineered properly... what size brakes do i need... what i mean is do i need rb25 turbo brakes or do they have to be r34 brakes??? i have r32 gts4 rotors and calipers at home... are these ok or coz they are only made for a 2 litre they wont do??? thanks for your help

i cant see why the flush mounted ones would be additional hazard to pedestrians... maybe the ones with the wire over the front or the ones that stick up... maybe try checking in your state... like everything else the laws owuld vary from state to state... just ring you local rta they will tell you...

hi, im after the torque settings if anyone has them for the bolts thet fasten the clutchplate assembly to the flywheel... im also after the setting for the water pump if there is any... the motor we are talking about here is for a rb25det neo thanks all in advance

you can do em any colour really... just go to your paint shop and ask for the colour your after mixed in with clear gloss (50 50 ratio should be good) and get em in acrylic... apply em the same way you would on as the night shade... just give em a nice srub with soapy water and a scourer and then max and grease them and spray... im gonna do my r31 wagon tail lights in white... should look good on an all black car... heck might go further and get something wicked airbrushed on the lights... some evil eyes or sumthing cheers

hi... when i got my interrior carpet i used boat carpet... you will probably find they have a slightly wider range in the boat carpet and the differences arent worth worrying about... its probably a little better quality because its designed to handle a soaking every now and then... if you can, try and get the one without the backing glue... it goes into cornere better i know this sounds a little far fetched but y dont u try bleaching your old carpet and dying it a wild colour of your choice... hell you can get a rainbow going if you a little that way

ive searched everywhere and have had no luck... i want a manual for a r34gtt... mainly for the motor as i have a rb25det neo but nobody has one... where can i get one from, i would rather have a book than a cd.. but if all else fails i might have to settle for the cd

hiya, ive run into a bit of a problem with my r31 rb25det neo project... im about to drop the motor and box in to cart it to the auto sparkys and am trying to wire up as much as possible infront of the fire wall... but there are a few plugs that dont go together... on the harness there is a "branch" of wires that run up the exhaust side of the motor to the afm... there is one wire on this branch that doesnt have a home in the middle, and two plugs with white grease all over them right at the end which also need a home also there is a smaller branch which i cannot find homes to any of these plugs... i suspect that im missing a harness from this to the gearbox as all the gearbox plugs are also without homes... all plugs on the motor have been married up could somebody help me out with this... detailed photos would help too... thanks all Rick

i read in a hpi magazine that you can use rx7 injectors... not sure what year model though... the article was talking about tuning a gtr to a budget... also one quick question how do you find out the duty cycle of the injectors

nar pretty much stock neo motor... will run standard boost for now but will upgrade turbo when this one shits its self... modifications will be usual stuff 3" zorts, pod, chipped ecu. ect ect might get it port matched to improve flow later on aswell as a arc smic and some sort of crazy computer (still undecided)... but for now just want to get it running reliable and stock so i get used to the power of the neo also driveability in traffic will the 9 button clutch be smoother than a 6... i dont want it to be a pain to drive in traffic

im goin 2 put a new clutch in my rb25det (neo if that makes a differecne) since i have everything out i was talking to the bloke at the clutch shop about it and he suggested a brass button clutch with 6 buttons over an organic one, because if you give it a squirt regularly i would wear the organic clutch away very easily... i was concerned about the driveability and durability of the brass button clutch... how long does this clutch last and when it does shit itsself will i need to get the flywheel re-machined... also how hard is it to drive in traffic... i want it to be a nice to drive car not kangarooing up the road because of this clutch thanks everyone & have a good x mas

just curious... on the r31 club the more posts you do, the more stars you earn and also you move up the ranks of 31 sklylines ie gx, sil, gts1, 2 and then gtsr.. ive noticed on here they are rb motors starting from rb20de... but mines says space goat... should this say that... im more just curious, i like the idea of my rank of a intergalactic triple j super hero thanks
