as the topic states will gtr standard cams and cam gears fit onto a rb20det, cause i have seen a few cars around on for sale sections saying they have them fitted on, i wanna konw if thats just crap talk or if it is really done, and also what difference is makes, is it minor or does it do some good? thanks for your time shaun

hey guys, ive been signed up to the forums for quiet sometime now, ive always been keen on skylines i currently own a 180sx sr20 turbo atm (ns.com). I'll he getting a skyline r32 gtst rb20 in the next few weeks, just wanted to intro myself (hi im shaun) to you guys, also just a few quick questions i wanted to ask. To some, going from sr20 to rb20 is silly, but to some it would be an upgrade. Lets not argue on that shall we, all i know at the moment (being a skyline noob) is that the rb20 is a more reliable engine apposed to the sr20 weak house block. all i really wanted to ask, if anyone out there who owns or has owned a rb20 could tell me the common problems of an rb20, cause my mate use to own a r32 skyline another one owns one atm too and for some reason they are sluggish they both had/have (front mount full 3"zort, bit of boost and pump) could anyone please justify this for me. Also if anyone knows any tricks or have ACTUALLY had little nick nacks done to make the rb20 more reliable or gained power (if possible) from something really slight, i sound like a tight now =[. Also if there is anyone out there who has there skylines as drift cars (not people who occasionally give it a little tap around the corners) i mean people who participate in actual events, Oran park, Calder park and so forth, because i really want to drift my upcoming skyline, and if there is any parts that are ESSENTIAL to getting it sideways besdies of course the obvious LSD, coilovers. And also how is the handling on them. And also pretty much general mechanical stuff thats happened to there rb20's eg: tps playing up, afm playing up. little nick nacks also final question, im looking to get 200 ~ 220kws@ the wheels if anyone (who has powerfigues or has had powerfigures like this) could give me a good guideline on how to achieve this to a rb20 and also how much it roughly costs parts labour the whole shabang! . guys have you notcied everytime summer or winter kicks in they stop making optimax and ultimate for a week or two, its because of seasonal changed they need to change the forumla, dont ask me, my dads best mate works at an oil refinery he tells me dad everything =] so dont panic guys.

ok guys after long deliberation with my girlfriend i have finally decided to let go of my 180 =[. - Sr20det - Manual - Sunroof Engine: - Front mount - 3" zort all the way - walbro fuel pump - fuel regulator - greddy profec b II Drive/ suspension: - Front strut Brace - Locked diff - tien HR coilovers Exterior - 17" rims (not on atm, but i do have pics) - Gp Sports front bar, Vertex side and rear Interior - kenwood deck (unsure of what type but is pretty) - us audio all around (cept deck) - mo mo steering wheel - drift button ok ive had the car for nearly 2 years i have much looked after the car, as much as i do love the car its time for me to move on to something different as this is the 2nd 180sx i have owned. The car has always been serviced when an oil change is needed and also i have always got major service (oil, oil filter, sparkys, fuel filter) every 3 - 4 months. Since november the 11th of last year i have had the engine replaced with a fresher engine at the time i was told by my mechanic it was in the mid 50k mark since then its been off the road (s15 face lift THAT DIDNT GO THROUGH) so i would have roughly driven it 10 - 15k since the engine was put in. The car outside is in fairly good conditon. body wise it is straight, no scratches no dents whats so ever, i have recently (2 months ago) got the car sprayed in matt black (looks sweet/ tough) i might add. Altought the car may look drifty (locked diff) i will assure you 100% that i have never drifted on the streets nor on track just a wannabe. inside the car does have a few cracks on the dash, but if a true buyer does come along i will source them with a dash that is scratch, bullet, cum, whatever you want proof. I am very open to any sort of compression test as i know the engine is mechanically A1 also the turbo has no shaft play what so ever, i know this because i had all the gaskets (head to manifold, manifold to turbo, turbo to zort) changed 7 months ago and we had a really good look at the turbo all shmick and shpan. i am hoping the next owner will treat it with the same respect i have as this car has no given my any major problems, the only major problems i have had with my car is injectors maxing out =[. Rego on the car is running out on Nov 11th this month however if rego is required it will be 15k =] i am also interested in a trade for a r32 gtst manual, if not 14.5k as is or 15k with new rego. also the car will be coming with 17" lenso c5 copies. ive seen this car it was done at DNA in wetherill park, i dont know if its still the same owner but the car is heaps nice and heaps quick!!!! gl with the sale
