Car is straight with very little rust, but is tatty. Great for a restore or parts (not much needed for RWC), no rego. I have owned the car unregistered for 18 months. Bought it as a project, but now I have too much other stuff to do. I have reco'd the turbo (ATP in chadstone), got a new battery, but thats about it. I just washed it and took some pics, but cant get them on the comp yet.. 1982 Starion JA White Manual Reco Turbo New battery Car drives... but has problems: Needs one way valve for brake booster (brakes are currently un-assisted). Part is available from a wrecker for $10 (guess) Water leak.. car has no thermostat and may be leaking from the housing (can see water run marks)... but could be the head gasket Sad Door locks working, but cant open with the key (both sides due to break in attempt). A stick needs to be used to push the lock open after opening the hatch. Generaly tatty. Has some other minor probs, I will think of them and post. i know im going to get in trouble for this, but ive been wondering for a while.... why not just use the $29 ones from super cheap auto (they look exactly the same, even on close inspection!!)?? (ducks in readyness)

i have a JA starion. for all you who dont know, that was the only model (aust delivered) with the crazy 80's bonnet scoops. from factory, the ones on the side are totaly for show (ie no venting at all), and the front, although big like wrx's from the outside, on the inside actually no bigger than 2x postbox slit size. seemed hardly worth the effort. i drilled all the ***cers out...... so IMHO, goto be better than stock. the more airflow the better!

i put somthing else to this thread... was the government right (from an australian budget point of view) to tighten the 15yo rule (to protect 2nd hand skyline competitors, whatever car they are)? i guess maybe not, as this tightening wont really do much (you can still get r32, 33 etc under a different scheme).... would then the only solution be FURTHER tightening? ie. NO imports (i cant belive i just wrote that, and for the record i dont support this!) any other views on the future of import prices??

i couldnt belive my eyes today when browsing carsales and trading post.... no less then FOUR r32 gtr's, all under 20k!!! landed and complied one even had a power fc, 2 with 17"'s, 2 with adjustable suspension, and 2 with under 120kms (questionable)!!!! also questionable is the quality of course. but when the 15yo import rule finished i was cursing that i hadnt bought a r32 gtr for ~25....... havnt seen any of these cars in the sales section, but if you are a seller, watch out in the next few weeks/months FYI I am looking 2 buy in the next month (after tax time) a r32 gtr or r33 for a 3.0 upgrade

thanks guys yeah I guess i will take my pics from my replay. at first i thought this was a bit of an oversight, but i guess the rational was that u dont get the pics in real life unless you really do the driving, so same for the game! what i really wanted was sideways pics with suspension squashed and smoking tyres. on the ring as well so I can send the pics to my friends os. we hired a mercedes C180 purly for driving on the ring! didnt c any skylines there, but a shitload of fast cars including a few DTM cars with number plates!

How are you guys directing your action shots? The only way I can see is to B-spec or drive the course... then go to the photo screnn. But if im a second too late with the button, or mess up the corner trying to get that perfect slide, I have to wait another whole lap? Very anoying on the ring! Is there a way I can place the car on the track? Or drive a partial section, then goto the photo screen?

did anyone else see GT4 at the melb grand prix? was in the superstore at the top of the track. just one systems with no sign or anything! played the nurburgring for 1 min and grand valley. nur graphics were great, better than gt4, buit grand valley seemed worse than GT3. maybe it was because it was an old track? as for handleing, it felt good but only played for 1 min
