  1. Another great SAU event. Here's some of the cars that were out there today..... http://www.flickr.com/photos/32908175@N03/
  2. Fantastic day, haven't had that much fun in a long time. And thanks to the helpers and marshalls for running the day, working in the heat while we tore up the track, couldn't have done it without you guys. Poor car hasn't seen that much of a thrashing in it's life, found the limiter a few too many times on the skidpan in first gear......... awesome fun. I think i better give it a service tommorow. (Goes off to check oil and filter are in the shed)
  3. Another sighting of the Camaro here, this time on Wellington rd. Managed to snap a pic....
  4. Get a frequency expander, you can keep your JDM stereo but gives you the range of all Austalian stations. Its alittle box that plugs inline in the antenna connection (also needs power and earth) and then 89.9 on your radio = 107.9 or some thing like that. Not sure of the exact frequency shift, but you catch my drift...
  5. 120 degrees is defintely getting on the hot side..... If you want one and have to dollars, the setups with a thermostat are the ones to go for. It lets the engine oil get up to operating temp and then keeps it there...
  6. Parts Interpreter at a car dealership, yes its as boring and repetitive as it sounds....
  7. Rear wiper was a delete option, my VSpec doesnt have one but some VSpecs do. Not sure if the remove option was available on standard GT-R's
  8. It sound like it could be quite a few things , heres a few things from my experience.... first up i'd try different drivers, if that doesnt change anything then swap the video card with a test one, just a basic plain jane card and see if the problems gone. if you dont have one just buy a $30 one rather than rushing out and buying a new 9800. I'd be kicking myself if that didnt end up being the problem, money that didnt need to be spent. after that id start swapping out parts one piece at a time until your problem disappears. I've had a couple of pc's that used to reboot by themselves. The first one had faulty ram, pita to diagnose..... the other, the plastic mounting lug that holds down the cpu heatsink mysteriously broke, cpu and heatsink not seated so it would hi temp and reboot. Anyways, good luck mate

Maybe just a little bit Just a nice realxing drive through some of the best scenery/roads in Victoria... I'd just spent 7 hours in the car (not the R) the day before and was thinking about not coming, bloody glad i did....

Another awesome GOR cruise, its just such a great cruise route that you can never get tired of The weather looked a bit threatening at times but it held off, the roads staying mainly dry. And thanks to the organisers of the cruise, another great event.....
  11. Can we please be put out of our misery!! What's in it!! All i can figure is that it might have a higher compression ratio than most people might think, and high lift but not too crazy duration on the camshaft, mixed together with some careful cam timing; for a nice recipe..... High comp gives good off boost power and would build response more rapidly... I'm out of ideas, please tell us the answer, we wants to know......
  12. For an R33 GTR Nissans FAST software says its 16554-24U10 Any Nissan dealer should be able to order it in for you, or they might direct you to one that deals with import models.
  13. Same here.... the hardware sounds up to it but it seems as if you need a better tune to free up some power, or maybe the 293kw run was done at 12psi or so
  14. You should actually be able to add extra load to the dyno as the speed increases to simulate the power lost by wind resistance. Whether or not they did it to get that time is another matter......
  15. I havent come across any Nismo triples....... but i've got a Nismo twin in my car (with Nismo slave cyl) Its more progressive tham the ORC twin that was in it. Its also completey silent at all times, the ORC ratled its brains out when the clutch was depressed. I kept getting 'geez whats wrong with your car mate' commments all the time You still know youve got a twin though, it certainly doesnt slip, but you still can get the occasional shudder, the less time spent on the clutch the better....
  16. First car: HQ Holden, 202 traumatic Next: VN V6 auto, VR clubby rims, exhaust, was a good car actually had it for most of my P's Then: VN V8 BT1. Yellow xchaser, sprayed Devil Yellow, 18" rims, rebuilt 5litre with mild cam and heads, about 200rwkw. Got into the whole modding thing, changed everything on that car And now: of course an R33 GT-R VSpec....
  17. The ceramic wheel on the turbine is on the exhaust side, so dumps would need to come off to truly see what you have if theres no serial numbers. As to why the magnet doesnt stick to the intake blades, could it be inconel (or whatever its called, special alloy) maybe a magnet doesnt stick to it? With a A/R42 front housing it could still be garrett -7 N1's.......
  18. No manual is available at all..... But who knows what they may do in the future though. Future models like th VSpec may get if they believe it works or there is a significant market for it
  19. Who tuned the ECU, Japanese of local company? Was it tuned on a standard engine with standard turbos?
  20. Lets hope one of the forum traders starts to source this gear, i'd buy a few items
  21. So can this Japan version disc be played on normal Australian machines? Will the menus all be in Japanese?
  22. Stealthy grey IMO. If you choose the yellow be prepared for the attention, both the positive and the negative....
  23. 360 makes way too much noise as it constantly keeps the disc spining at flat out speeds. Sounds like a shitty CDROM in a PC at 50x. Took it back the next day... Got the PS3 now, whisper quiet and ive gotta say, the controllers are much better.... That fact that ive had PS and PS2 prevously might have something to do with that
  24. Plenty of intank pumps avail to support that power and more. Nismo, HKS, Sard, Tomei....... the list goes on Not a bad car for 10K at current bid, from what i can guess...
  25. Was reading here http://press.nissan-global.com/PRESSKIT/NI...LISH/index.html (go to MECHANISM then ENGINE) where it says instead of cast sleeves in an aluminium block, the unsleeved bores are plasma coated instead (0.15mm instead of 2.5mm sleeves). Better heat transfer, less weight, yada yada... If this need maintainence every 100k then holy crap thats a bad idea!
