I know some people run these on the street, but does the sidewall make it really stiff and rough on general roads? Ive had some Falken Azenis RT215 semi comps, they were 16's, and it was a rougher ride than the street 18's on the same car. These were back on my Commodore. Are the sidewalls stiff like the Falken track tyres, soft like road tyres, or inbetween?

Gallery Issues
VSPEC-33 replied to PranK's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Im having dramas when saving pictures from the gallery, including my own. When i 'save picture as' it default to name: untitled (not too bad) but only wants to save it as a bitmap, not a jpg which the file clearly is according to the internet address bar. Its only the gallery pics as the bannners at the top of the page will save as jpegs or gifs. -
Im pretty sure those dyno graphs are from summernats, 1200 rwhp could either the VH TTV8 of Eddy Tassone or Brett Wayne's, or TYHRD VX Clubby And I think a Ford Capri put out the other figure NA at the last event, a big block with mechanical injection if i remember correctly. Horsepower Heros only allows the use of shell optimax as a control fuel, even going to lengths of testing the fuel from the fuel rail incase any hidden methanol or fancy fuels have been added. (This ended in tragedy a couple of times with a few singed engine bays, raw fuel being sprayed on hot manifolds kind of ignites!) A couple of years ago you were only allowed to run 15 psi boost and they were getting to those sort of figures. They must be mighty big turbos and alot of air being forced down its gullet to achieve that sort of power!

Shell Optimax 98 Shell Optimax Extreme 100 Mobil Synergy 8000 98 BP Ultimate 98 United Boost 98 Umm 98 maybe Some cars dont like to be run on Optimax due to the additives that are in the fuel, detergents etc can foul the plugs (heard of it being more common on motorbikes) My old car used to get the occassional miss and get 50 kms less to a tank when i used the Optimax And with the new car, i use BP Ultimate and Mobil 8000, never had any dramas with either of these.

How Often Do Your Drive Your Car?
VSPEC-33 replied to magpies03's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Only on the weekend. After driving a slow car duing the week it makes the R feel even faster! -
I have this same problem in my 33 GTR, when i start it up its on 1/2 which was what it should be. The 1 minute down the road it will go down to empty, then up to a quarter, then to empty, then to just under 1/2 again. The needle moves fairly slowly, probably 30 seconds to move from 1/2 to empty. I was wondering if this was a problem for all Skylines? Does anyone know if it is caused mainly by a faulty sender in the tank, bad wire connection, faulty instrument cluster? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Any time the revs drop below 2000 rpm i put it back a gear. I'm sure the efficiency of the engine that revs to 8000rpm wont be too crash hot below 2K

I liked both of those, got em on DVD but i didnt know they were based on books. Might have to go find them and give them a read. Reading the Da Vinci Code later will probably be better as youll be saving the best for last. You wont be watching it picking the shite out of it for all the differences.

The roofline and the front end arent to my liking, but hey everyones different. The rear end and rear quarter bulges are awesome, i like those depressions above the tailpipes, very Ferrari-esque. But we all love GTR's for the engine (even it has now changed they surely wouldnt take a step backwards), and with an estimated 350 kW on tap it sure to be fast!

I feel the movie didnt do the book justice, they took out or changed parts of the plot that didnt improve the movie at all. There were a few one liners thrown in there for good measure, but i managed to be seated next to this chick who had the loudest laugh id ever heard, often laughing when no one else was. A little bit distracting. Overall i give the movie 2.5 stars (out of five)

I Believe The (redline Oil) Hype!
VSPEC-33 replied to clayoth's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I need to get some of this stuff soon for R33 GTR gearbox and would like to know whether to get the light or superlight also. Anyone recommend which situation needs which oil? Can you use Redline oil for the transfer case also? -
Any photos of the seats from the front, to see how much (if any) of the usual wear marks are there? When you say boot mat is missing do you mean the boot floor carpet, or a mat that matches the others in the car. Any mods to the engine? suspension changes, etc? Cheers

I searched the forum and googled for details for the R33 N1 but couldnt come up with anything that i wanted to know. Basically, i know the sort of stuff that was in the R34 N1 forged pistons + rods different water + oil pump differnt block, etc, etc..... But does the R33 N1 have the same sort of different internals or was it closer to a standard GTR engine just with diffent turbos and chassis tweaks? Any info or links would be appreciated. Cheers guys.
