Problem With Whiteline Bump Stop/dust Boots
Kwyjibo replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Mine did the same, the original front dust covers I had were ok so I put them back on. The problem with mine is it stays on the bump stop and sometimes pulls it down a bit. The major problem is in the wet it makes an annoying noise as the rubber pops on and off the shock body. -
Got a wave from a black 32 going the other way along Haydon Dr about 5:00 PM yesterday.
-
Haha its ok Stinkypoo caught some even worse ones on video. It was a really good day out there, enjoyed myself heaps and can't wait to get out to more now.
-
Haha the white 32 is me, yeh that first one may be a time when I understeered and speared off into the dirt
-
That was me but I'd hardly call what I was doing drifting . Was first time out though and can't wait till the next.

Item: HID's - 6000K light - Plugs right in, just need to mount the ballast Age: Used for one day Condition: As new, will be in box as they came. Price: $135ish + postage, make me an offer, they are $170 based on how many people ordered in the group buy thread To Fit: any car that takes H4 lows even low/highs just the high beams aren't that good Location: Canberra Contact: PM me or 0430 508 321 Comments: Bought these in error, I needed low/highs but these are only lows. They do appear to have a 'high beam' glow but it isn't very good. I've only had them in the car for the day as I can't remove them tonight. Will post pics of the actual box, packaging etc tomorrow morning when I pull them out. They are the same brand as the ones in this group buy thread where you are looking at between $155 and $170. The other photos are of how they looked in the car.

PM me if you want to get rid of the autospoiler. I just need the actual spoiler part, mine all works but the spoiler is missing. -
Rb20 High Reving On Idle, How Do I Stop This?
Kwyjibo replied to 45LDE's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Check the IAC(Idle Air Control) valve, it is a valve that shuts as the car warms up, lets less air in and hence eventually lowers idle. One of the main ways you can see if this is the problem is if the idle doesn't lower as the engine warms up. Problem is this is based on a spring mechanism that often breaks. The IAC valve is very annoying to get to, it is in between the intake manifold, and the plenum, but I managed to get to it just by removing the crossover pipe. It is shaped like a square, with a pipe sticking out the top and bottom. I just undid the 4 screws on mine, opened it up and reattached the spring to the plate which closes up the hole. An easy way of checking this is the problem is by blocking the hose going into it. Someone took pictures of this in their thread but I am unable to find that now. Its an annoying job but it took heaps less time than pulling apart AFM, AAC valve and everything else that might affect idle. -
Hey, I'm just looking to buy some cheap wheels to suit an R32 gts-t for the track, not worried about the tyres or anything. There are plenty interstate but not many people selling in ACT. I noticed there are some R34 GT wheels but apparently they won't clear the brakes and I don't want to use any spacers on the track. Cheers, Adrian

Found some, just for anyone who may have this problem Silvia strut tops are exactly the same as R32's.
-
Hey, The stud on my strut top just broke while working on it, if anyone has a rear strut top for an R32 I need to grab one ASAP. Cheers, Adrian
-
Ok thanks, I no longer need the rubber bush, I just need some standard dust covers, can you PM me with where your located? Cheers, Adrian
-
Received everything and finally installed them correctly. I would recommend that everyone use their original dust covers if possible. The fronts have a washer in the standard dust cover that is required and sits above the bump stop. Also the Whiteline ones aren't too great, the rears have got stuck on my shock body and pulled the bump stop with it so I am getting a bit of noise, I will chuck the standard ones back in. Apart from that the kit is great and very well priced, to set the height at 350/340mm I had to use one setting above standard but the ride is great and the handling is even better than I had before. The only problem I had was that communication with SK is difficult due to the PM box always being full.

Would you be able to have a look at them and tell me what it has between the strut top and the bump stop, if there is a rubber bumper type thing I'd like to grab that off you, if you need to get rid of the whole shock and it has that I'll take it all if you want. Cheers, Adrian
-
I'm basically looking for the piece of rubber between the bump stop and the strut top, if anyone has this I need it pretty badly. Cheers, Adrian
-
Ok I've installed them fine then, any ideas why the top of the strut is sitting so high and the nut doesn't actually reach the the top of the strut top then?
-
I just bought R32 gts-t Bilstein shocks and springs and have had a bit of trouble with the fronts. Set at what should be the correct height for 340mm the strut goes way above the strut tower, and the thread does not allow the strut top nut to go low enough to hold the components below it down so I have had to put some of the trimmings of my bump stop in to stop it moving for now. I am just wondering if I may have put my bump stops on wrong as now that I look at my standard ones I'm not sure where they should be. It's shown in the picture above, I have the bump stop sitting on the main strut area, there is a small washer/retainer holding it down and keeping the standard bit of rubber above this area. The picture below is from another thread and it shows how my bump stop is installed(except mine has the dust cover). I am wondering if the bump stop should be above this point, held up by the washer(the washer shown in the pic) that keeps everything above the main strut area? It doesn't make sense then however as nothing would ever hit the bump stop but I'm still worried I have put it in wrong.

Hey, I have a standard R32 gts-t steering wheel that has lost quite a bit of paint. Just wondering if anyone knows what type of paint to use to touch this up or any methods of doing it? Cheers, Adrian

Yeh SK I usually can not get on the forums at a time when you are clearing your box. I have been trying to contact you for 2 weeks now without success. It appears 3 PM's did go through, one on the 3/06, 5/06 and 10/06 and none have been answered. I can understand if I hadn't yet purchased anything but I have payed and I really would like to know the status of my order at the moment, could you possibly prioritise people who have already provided payment? Could you please just provide me with the status of my order or a consignment number? -

Hey Sydneykid I posted in that other thread and you said that you are slowly ansering PM's and to keep trying but I still haven't received a reply from PM's that went through on the 3rd and the 5th of June. I know your busy but I pretty urgently need to know where my order is up too. So if you could just reply in here or in the group buy thread quickly that would be great. -
Sorry to reply to this offtopic again. Looking at my sent items I have had a PM manage to get through to you on the 3rd, the 5th and the 10th of June but still no reply. I know your busy and I don't want to sound pushy but I'd just like to know when they will arrive or grab a consignment numb er so I can organise someone to be home.
