Even easier way, There is a screw under each mirror that releases the electric motor to move the mirrors once this is release the mirror just pops out, and then get a screw driver and pop it out from its mounting points.. All good and takes 60 seconds. My car is R32 GTS-t

so true it's a sad case to believe.

My car wasn’t degassed I didn’t sign any exempt shit, And I got my car off the docks without signing any responsibility forms to undertake it. Just ask your broker if he can get you out of it. I know of a dealer that gets his cars off the wharf and even sells the cars without degassing and re gassing. Not naming any names.

It idles great that’s all I’ve done. Ill try to get some dealer plates so I can run it out to Maddington to get complianced. Should be a good run on Japanese fuels and a loud exhaust, while it last. Oh and boy oh boy, the car is beyond my expectations. A picture here is located here http://andrew.ihostingonline.com/profile.jpg http://andrew.ihostingonline.com/rear%20profile.jpg I will try and get better ones when my digital camera decides to work better, the colours it is giving are rather dull and not what is really seen in real life.

I won’t see my car till Thursday, now at the earliest. It was booked into an inspection with Quarantine on Monday at 2:30pm but the stevedore didn't have any cars ready. So now it is rebooked for Thursday 8.30am at the earliest. This shit just happens sometimes. Anyone else had else had any early experiences with there customs broker/agent?

Got Boost, My import broker, (not Bill) said i should have it Wednesday at the latest. He also said that due to the amount of new cars getting dropped off the ship in Fremantle, this time, (a ****en shit load), is the reason why it will take a little longer, than expected. Also mentioned that Quarantine now are taking 48hrs to book examinations for cars, once paper work has been lodge.

I went down today, I have a GTS-T on it, couldn’t see it, saw one but it didn’t look like an r32, right color though. Think I saw you car Got Boost, that is if its the car in your aviator (maybe not if your car is white. ehehe), I spend over 30 minutes with some 24x binoculars, at the bus port. Just slowly looking at every car. At 24x zoom, its very hard to keep the cars in frame, plus all the light comming off the water What Import Broker and compliance people is everyone using?

Pre paid doesn’t mean you will get it quicker. Plus it depends on your supplier to where or where not he charges you prepaid, Like in my case he did, but I was also disappointed as when the B&L came in, I found out I had paid 250$ more than what it actually cost, and another guy, who bought a car from the same supplier in Japan 2 days after I had purchased mine, didn’t get charged pre paid freight on his invoice. Still got it cheaper than me, and he has a 300zx coming in which is slightly heavier and about one square meter more GotBoost our cars are on the same boat mines a r32 GTS-t. What’s yours? Did you get yours through Mark Hocking?

gtr90 give your supplier a ring not broker, and just see what the outlook is like next month. Also ask him when the next RoRo ship is leaving. Then 2 weeks before to this give him a ring and ask him how it is going, then a week to go do the same thing. This sort of applies pressure on him, in a way where you’re in his mind of thought; he could pull a few strings. I know my dealer did this, pulled all favors to get my car on the boat, considering the car wouldn’t start. It needed a new fuel Pump, Tomei High Flow, and nearly $500 extra. But the point of the matter is that he got it to the docks, and through clearance, on Tuesday, the following day the ship was leaving port.

b00st_M0nK3Y, What have the rides you been given, been like? My r32 gts-t MODIFIED, will be on Fremantle docks, on the 11th and I’m expecting it to have some serious torque and Boost.

pentae, I would be so annoyed. I was talking to someone else who had been waiting since November too for a car to come to Fremantle port. And here I am with my car, which I bought 26 days ago, already on boat which left Kanda on Tuesday, and will be in Fremantle on the 11th of March. I think it comes down to your supplier in Japan, have you tried ringing him and applying pressure or get your broker too? Unfortunately we are small one time buyers, they already have there money. Not like they will get anything extra out of us. The guy I mention previously tried calling up his supplier but didn’t get far. But hey you are one patient guy, your wait would have just killed me, but once your car hits the water, you’re going to really appreciate it Be the best feeling you had in a long long time second to sex, and if not in your case better.

Import Approval/de-reg papers
re2 replied to danozgriff's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Yeah also, if your car is already past 15 years to the year, they don’t really mind you sending an import approval off with out the deregistration papers. I.e., my car is built 1989, September, I sent my IA off in February, but because it wasn’t a 1990 model, it wasn’t necessary for the deregistration paper work. Well thus is what was told to me by my custom agent. -
My importation update. Just spoke with Mark Hocking over in Japan, a great guy. I just recently got an email from him regarding the fact he couldn’t start my car last week when they were trying to get it down to customs and clearance at the docks. So mark took it back to Prime garage where it was built just over 1.5 years ago, they eliminated the spark plugs/coil/leads and some other stuff, but pointed it down to the GTR High Flow Fuel Pump. eeek hehe, So they will be putting in another one tomorrow, 40,000 yen more. But then the good news came, My car will be on the next vessel leaving Japan next Tuesday, coming to Fremantle, which should arrive 11th of march according to the Fremantle ports docking schedule on there website.

Import Approval/de-reg papers
re2 replied to danozgriff's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Dane Just send off the papers, without the de-registration papers. I'm in the exact same boat as you. Bought my car from Geoff, Same supplier in Japan, Same Shipping and we will properly be using the same customs agent. I rang my custom agent up, and he told me that the de-registration papers weren’t necessary, if the car is 15 years or older, and that he doesn’t mind the import approval going off without deregistration papers. I just got my import approval in the post on Friday, took me three and a half WEEKS to get it since I lodge them. So you’re properly better off getting the papers off ASAP. I have not even yet seen my deregistration papers from the supplier and I’ve paid it over 4 weeks ago. You could be up for a wait for them. Just remember our boat leaves Japan late February and arrives early march, around the 14th, could even be sooner. It’s properly a very good idea for you to ring up the custom agent Geoff recommended, and get the info for yourself, as he will be the one doing all the work at the docks for you in getting your car cleared. PM me the link to the car you have purchased -
