Hey eps, Yeah i do like the rx350 and seem to be around the 35k mark which aint too bad. They look nice, but i have no idea about performance on them. Still with all the gizmo's and the name itself it might end up heading this way :-) -

Cheers Beer Baron for the words of advice. Love the Toureg, just dont like the price tag on the V10 or the audi Q7. I saw abou a year ago a nissan crossover style vehicle, the interior was immaculate and had not seen it in Oz. I went to the US for my honeymoon and saw a few nice ones in New York so was wondering about ones like that. -
Hi All, Currently have a 2005 Ford Escape (Territory's little brother) and am looking at updating. Was about to get a territory turbo but then wondered what nice 4wds are available to be imported. Any help out there or recommendations, has to be newer than 2005 though, dont really want an older car at this stage. 4wd turbo would be nice ;-) Any importers on here have a list of good 4wd that have compliance and can be imported?

I have tried a lot of the pre workout supps. I will tell you my personal experience though, i was addicted to all the pre workout supps, NO Explode, Jack 3d, black powder etc. Basically couldnt train without em which is quite common. I had to take a medical for my work (this is where it may be interesting for you.... i manage a gym/Leisure Centre with 3300 members) and my medical came back with high blood pressure, 150/85 resting. Whilst not extremely high, it is still stage 1 hypertension and of concern at the time for a 30 year old. Got put on blood pressue tablets. 30 years old, eat healthy, train 5 times per week since i was 18! why am i on medication?..... stopped taking pre workouts, stopped the medication and now sit at 135 over 80, just under stage 1 hypertension. Most of the pre workout supps contain high dosages of caffeine, needless to say in constant usage it is not good for you. Whilst i was addicted to them you could tell me this a thousand times and i wouldnt listen. Gees i sound like one of those anti supplement whack jobs. I still take protein and creatine, just wanted to let you know my experience and coincidences taking this stuff. Not good in long term but i got really good results. P.S. i have read the gym and supplement discussion many a time and now dont bother, misinformation and people saying what everyone else mentions is wrong is not what i am after.

+1 Such a sad thing to happen. Reminds me of about 10 years ago with a guy i used to play ice hockey with. an absolute champ at such a young age got taken due to a driving accident. As we left the funeral 1 ute driver bagged it up out the front, about 5 guys threw stuff at his ute for being a twat and not respecting the situation.

Funny, i was just looking at the BWA website the other day as they had the bridge cycle to the island, Looked amazing! they seem to have a few smaller long distance events dan that might be worth a go at, we could even invite Eps as well as he is always wanting to go for a ride. I did the 30km freeway bike hike this year on my mtb no worries at all and definately heading to the 60km bike hike next year, would love to do something between then though.

AHAHAHA!! Will do mate, I also have a friend who just bought A very nice Merida On road bike. He lives in northbridge in some nice apartments. Hows about i tee up a northbridge to Freo ride once a get these new badboy wheels fitted and we can chill in freo check out the muppets in their cars on the strip then ride back? nice long ride but a good one :-)

Gang, I bit the bullet and went for the mod, i no longer have a skyline to mod so i have to mod something. I ordered some MAVIC AKSIUM with 28' Gatorskin tyres. My ride to work is 18 kms which on my MTB used to take me 54 minutes on avg. I bought the flat bar road bike and the time is now averaging 45 mins. Massive difference, really its approx 15% time saving just by swapping over a bike. If it makes that much difference, i wonder if the better wheels and tyres will make a big difference. Would be nice to crack the 40min mark. Anyone know how much a local bike shop should charge to change my wheels over? no way i am good enough yet to change the cassettes etc on to the new rear wheel. As excited as i am I have already started to eye off my next bike, i recon i will go with the Scott Speedster S20FB. I have only had my bike for 4 weeks so will let it crack at least the 12 month mark, take these nice wheels off and whack em on the new bike :-) The bike bug certainly has hit me big time, in Perth 3 weeks ago the freeway was shut for the annual freeway bike hike. Did 30km in an hour 15mins on the mountain bike, I am going to the 60km one next year all things going well!

Tristan and I go way back with that car, when i had SLY 33 he first got his MR2 and slowly i would see his build up, that thing is a fricking monster, he was annihaliting some of the gymkhanas at motivation!! Absolute Beast!
-
Ahhh ok, might just go the gator skins for now, my tyres are a 32 and gator skins come in a 28 thickness so that should also be a bit nicer as well having some thinner tyres. Yeah i think its glass on the foot paths near my work that has done it to be honest
-
yeah true on what you said, but the standard tyres i have are crapola, apparently the gator skins are a much better way to go as they have an extra layer inside to prevent flats. Also there were saying the hubs have much better bearings than the ones i currently have??
-
Ok so going to upgrade the rims and tyres, have ridden my new beast only twice and have already punctured the front tyre!!! Grrrr! So looking at getting "Mavic Aksium" wheels and Gator skin tyres 28width on them as recommended by LBS. anyone have thoughts on these? I want a good wheel and tyre package for less than $400. Marc, how much can your shop do em for?
-
very small ones of them that hang off the end of each handle bar grip, so i not only get a grip to put my hands on like a mountain bike..... ahh F&*k it... let me find a link ;-)
-
they are grips with attachments on the end of it, Ummm i will get the brand and model etc, its not just the rubber bit that goes over the bar its also prongs that come off the side as well. Either way i get your point, at $65 they better be F&*kn good :-) ahahaha
-
Nee-san check my posts above. The Giant Cross City 1 is a BEAUTIFUL bike. its a flat bar road bike, so still has the comfort of mountain bike but speed of a road bike. they are going for as low as 1k over here in WA. Marc - good news is the fork is already Carbon Fibre! sweet! :-) and the stem is fixed from what i can see. I am thinking of letting this bike last me for say 2 years then upgrading again, so will save the $$$ and put it in a nice savings account for now. In saying that i am going to buy some better handle bar grips today, $65 and the grips are replaced with thicker ones with a small bar at the end of the grip to allow my hands to go forward more (hope that makes sense) If anyone else though has any good mod ideas let me know.

ahhaha! I sell it to my wife that i save petrol money riding to and from work, what i dont tell her is that the amount of energy i am burning i need to maintain my size so i spend a lot of money at the cafe instead, so saving money from petrol for the car, but buying more food petrol for me :-) Is it worth any sense putting a good set of wheels on it? if so any decent quality ones that would be an upgrade for me?
-
Cheers for your help with this!! You guys are going to think i am an idiot though as i couldnt resist. I bought it for $600 today. The Tachyon 3 by GT that is. I think the Giant is still a better bike, both the cross city 1 and the 2010 crx but the price of this was so cheap and the years free servicing i couldnt knock back as it has come in good value with my last bike especially in winter when the water would dry out all of the gears. I think for $600 i could ride it for a year, sell it for $500 and in the mean time save up for a VERY nice bike indeed. I saw that Carbon flat bar road bikes are makin there way onto the scene so i recon i will end up with one of them in the future when funds allow. For $600 i was really impressed with it and could only feel some minor differences between it and the Giant. The Giant had beautiful running gear (Shimano 105) and the gear changes felt amazing but for me being an amateur rider just commuting too and from work that was really all i could feel that was different. The Giant Cross City looks F*(kn hot though in white so that was the other factor. but for $400 difference i couldnt see that much of a difference. So, NOW that i have this bike and have saved $400, what mods would you do? Remember i spent over 50k on my 33gtst so i cannot help to mod somehting on this bike. Wheels? Groupset? anything else i could do to go quicker/better?

Hey guys, Well i need your advice on this one. After one of my staff bought a Giant Cross City 1 flat bar road bike to ride with me to work I can resist the urge to ditch the mountain bike for my work commute and buy one of these bad boys. So i have been offered two pretty good deals one obviously better than the other 2011 Giant Cross City 1 - $1000 inc 1 free service The other is 2010 GT shown here: http://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2010&Brand=GT&Model=Tachyon+3.0&Type=bike The beauty of the Tachyon is the very cheap price i am getting for, as its 2010 model I am getting it for $600 including 12 months free service so about 8 services in total. He was selling them for $900 6 months ago but now trying to get rid of em. I have already bought a bike from the guy offering me the tachyon nice and cheap and the services always have been quality, his customer service aint the best but his prices are so cheap! So what are your thoughts, cross city or tachyon 3? I like the fact that these are more path friendly than road bikes as a lot of my cycling is around a very large lake on the way to work so about 70 percent is path riding. Also is there any upgrades you would propose? As I may be saving $400 i could be tempted to spend a couple of hundred just to give it an extra edge against the Giant Cross City 1 My staff member came to the shop with me today and had a ride on the Tachyon, he said he could not feel too much of a difference between his cross city 1 and the tachyon, but i am his boss so he could just be trying to be nice Really would love to get your opinion on this....

This reminds me of the list we did for 2010 :-) OK RAGE Duke Nukem Forever Diablo 3 The Witcher 2 (loved number 1, so much better than dragon age!)

Thank F&*k for that, so many good movies are in mkv and its a pain in the arse to convert, so i just troll until i eventually find a good mp4 of what i want. Sometimes though they dont work to good! Let me know if you ever see it come through, i hope PS3 eventually give us a patch for it like they did for 3D!

Oops sorry birds, just realised you have pretty much summed up what i have said. Anyways, i guess if people want further info just read the link that i attached.

Havent read this for 30 pages or so and just saw this. Any of you who have the power balance bands, the ACCC has now acknowledging this band as nothing but a mere hoax or 'snake oil' and is going down the path of refunds to people who have bought this band. info here: http://scepticsbook.com/2010/12/22/power-balance-admits-to-false-claims/
