If your mechanic said not to cut the backing plates off due to air flow around the disk I wouldn't take anything he says seriously. All the backing plates are there for is to stop dust and stones and water. Performance cars in the 70's would cut the backing plates off so if the mechanic doesn't know don't listen to him about brakes and would question his knowledge about performance cars. Cutting the plates off expecially the rears as rear rotors crack, is the cheapest brake mod you can do. As for castor rod ducts I just got some cardboard and tape. Bent it all up and made sure it cleared everything then wrapped it in foil to turn it into a mould and fibreglassed over it. Attach it with hose clamps and your done. Same could be done with some 1.6mm aluminium and a few hours. Might cost you $30. I've seen some of the so called caster rod deflectors and there 50mm high and 100mm long and would most likely do f/a for the price. As for semis the benifit on the street wouldn't be worth it. Spend the money on suspension. My car is maybe 1 or 2 seconds slower on the track on streets but my tyres last 5 time longer and there cheaper. If you are driving to the limit of semis on the steet you'll end up around a tree eventually. My guess is you won't even be pushing the semis to the limit so streets would do atm. A fair few guys at the track don't even push the semis to the limits. They only have them because everybody else does! Do you really need them??? It is easy reading the forums to think you need big and fast everything but really a nice street/track setup isn't that expensive or hard to achieve if you do it right with a gtr as their such a good platform and you already have 300rwkw.

I have a head that i've pulled off a rb26 with a cracked ring land. If you want it its sitting here. Didn't blow any smoke when running just had low comp but that was the piston and the engine is still here if you are sceptical. Didn't really want to sell the engine in peices but if you are interested let me know. In melb also. After $1000 for it with cam and front covers or $900 minus covers.

I cleaned the dash today and found it has a few light scratches. I'm not sure if the original buyer will still be interested or if you are. I don't think they would show up on a camera. As for the diff. Sorry for the late reply but it is kind of sold. I am waiting to get prices for freight for a couple of other guys but haven't had time to box it up and weight it atm.

What do you want to do. Home automation/houses, industrial, building union sites. There are so many different types of work you can target out there. Better than going to uni, paying back hex and having a certificate in something you only did because it was all you got accepted into like so many peopple do. I have found seaking an apprenticeship where you want to work is hard. I waited 9months to get into a helicopter apprenticeship. The best way was to go door knocking and if they say no ask if anybody is looking for one. Shows your keen and they can sum you up on the spot and you can also see the work place and guys you would have to work for if they say yes. Large companys will give you more repetition like ruff ins and fit offs. A smaller company will have more job diversity generally. Ask when your there what they do. Apprenticeships are great. I couldn't do uni as sitting in a room listening to somebody crap on about something I don't care about for 3 years, 4or5 hours a day didn't interest me. I'm a hands on person. Just go to the uni parties you'll miss out on through your mates who go to uni.

All pm's replied. I haven't removed the remote filter assy yet. I believe from looking at it it won't have a thermostat. It isn't an oil cooler so I don't know why it would have one. V specs are just stock gtr's engines aren't they? I don't think they had N1 turbos. I don't know which models came with 550cc inj. The ecu should be fine if you have stock turbos and injectors.

Bought mine off Blackwoods. Ask for trade as you might be lucky. Got about 25metres of 25mm and 25metres of 50mm for under $100. Makes Autobarn look like a massive rip off. This was about 3 years ago though. I put it under the heatshields on the gtr manifolds and it got that hot that it turned into melted into glass in one place. Makes a massive difference to heat in engine bay.

Dirt garage-I have had an offer for the diff only so I'll pm you a price for the shafts but it depends on how keen the other guy is to buy the diff and if your happy with the shaft prices. Have a whole motor with a cracked piston ring land for 2.5kono with everything minus stuff under plenum. It excess to me so I don't need it. Put some forgies in it for 1k and you have a bloody cheap 26. No bore damage.

Mate I have had so many offer to swap it is not funny anymore. You have a really nice car but you really need to get it running if you want to make it easier to sell and have some luck selling for the money your asking. I have a gtr shell in my shed atm which I'm contemplating building up.

Where are you from so we know how far to far is??? GTR or GTST????

Cheers Oosh. Yes it is that car in the above post. As I've mentioned a few times before I only bought it to fix and sell. Changed the engine. Since I've been back at work and the shit weather atm I haven't had time to tidy up a few things, to have the car finished completely. The car is a really tight car so I'm suprised it is still for sale. Going on other cars I've had you can have them for a couple months and in one week have 3 people wanting it. Just waiting for the wave to come atm and not in to much of a hurry to sell while I have some cash flow. It is a nice car but not a +$20k example. Would easily be on par or better than many $16-17k cars around. Look at the price. Its fkn cheap for what it is. I know I'd buy a gtr over a 33gtst anyday for the same $.

I have some nismo lmgt2 rims 17x9 off r32 gtr. Slight gutter rash but I could let them go cheap. Say under $1000. I'm melb though. If your interested I can post pics.

Got a standard bottom end with everything under the head to sump for $650. Build it yourself so you know whats in it. Has a cracked ring land on 6 but no damage to bore.
