Thanks Bec for the reference. It takes about 10 hours to drive to sydney with stops if I remember right so wakefield should be a couple hours closer looking at the map. Where are you troy? Which place is everybody staying out of the two for EC?

R32 Gtr And Small Single Turbo (sst) Upgrade
Rowdyr32 replied to Beer Baron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ferni made somewhere around 330rwkw with his gg-ss's and I think 2860's are around the same power and can be had for about $2600. He did this with stock dumps an adj fuel reg and stock afm's and pfc. So for one days work to change them over and about $2600 plus $170 for nismo reg why go to the extra effort and risk unreliability? Plus no cops hassling you. I tossed up going for a gt30 but couldn't really care anymore after going in his gtr with all the midrange torque you could want. Projects are fun until something goes wrong remember! -
What's the go for accomodation for the other two nights? I don't know if I missed reading something.

I can do pics but it is new so if you know what a sill looks like there is no real need. Its mat black and brand new. Why do you want pics? -
I have a pair you can have for $250. Bought them but the brake upgrade I'm about to do won't clear them anyway. Yours if you want them. Pm me if your interested.

I have some s15 stock wheel with bridgestone re540's on them. Two of the tyres are almost dead but would be fine if you run lots of camber (scrubbed on outside) but the other two are about 70% tread. After $450 which is what they cost me.

I need a t/s contoller and have been toying around with the same idea of running a more rwd at first at motohkanas to stop the car bogging down and also to reduce the understeer. Will save slipping the clutch to get going. A bad habit that comes from the 2stroke motorbike days. It would take a little to get used to as you have to correct the wheel to oversteer really quickly when this happens in gtr's. If you were smart enough it could be plumbed into the steering sensor so when the wheels where close to where the car understeers it would reduce the torque split?

GOOO The R32 GTST with a RB26 in it. It was the most indistructable car I've ever owned. It copped a couple years of torture before it spat its exhaust wheel for the second time and took out two cylinders. It used to love being launched in second gear with the 255's on the rear smoking. If you have ever driven one you will know how they are to drive. At no stage even through my drifto stage or at the track did the car had I ever feel out of control no matter what you did in it unless you pushed it knowingly past its limit. When it got my gtr I was really disapointed. The wank factor of owning a gtr is nice but the good old times of just messing around in the skyline stopped. A 32 gtst is like driving a go kart. Heaps of fun, light and really cheap. Just ask Troy and all the other 32gtst owners. They'll tell you! As I think Chris said to somebody "4wd makes up for bad driving" Now for Bris I've been looking for a while now for a highly modded gtst or datsun with a sr or ca turbo in it for cheap. They weigh nothing, cheap for parts, and with track cars you need to look at power to weight. A little datsun/escort stripped 800kg with 150rwkw never breaking down beacuse it has a unstressed later model engine and you can throw the shell away if you stack it verse a gtr that chews out tyre, expensive to fix when it breaks something, chews fuel and brakes with 300rwkw and around 1500kg. The lighter car should corner faster. Just compare a v8 supercar to a formula ford. They do about the same lap times. Then look at there brakes engine etc. It make the supercar look like a brick. Heres a proposal: GTST 9k with wheels, exhaust, intercooler, suspension etc Sell motor 1k owes 8k GTR motor with pfc, tune and N1's 7k or less = 300rwkw Clutch $500 Shim diff $250 For around 16k you would have a reliable car which would smoke it through second and maybe in third and go all day every day. No lag and a rb26 designed to rev to 9000rpm. If you want it to be reliable only run 14psi. No 4wd components inc g/box to break and lighter than a gtr and nobody expects it until you pop the bonnet.

If you have some could please let know if they have a spare set of rims with roadworthy tyres laying around. I would only have to drive for 100km max and have them for a few days and they will be putted around on. There will be a payment of beer or spirits provided also. I may get pulled up by the engineer as it has s15 rims on it at the moment with 2 dead tyres so even if they pass engineering they will fail rwc. Unfortunantly I'm not able to use my 18x10's because there to big. Bummer! The car goes in on Saturday to the engineer so I will know then if thier ok for that. I should have it back on Monday or Tuesday and reg'd by Friday providing the mechanic isn't to fussy. If you know of a good mechanic for RWC in the south could you please pm me their details and not post them up. I need it reg'd do the NSW excursion next fortnight and still have a fair few other bits and pieces to do to the car by then so your help will be really appriciated.

I enquired about getting bolt in and weld in cages a while ago. The bolt in cages were around $300 more due to the extra work involved. For a weld in 6 point with rear cross brace it was around $2500 for the 32 gtr. I had a quote for around $2k by another place but later found out that thier cage had issues with welds when it came to getting it approved. As for jap bolt in cages I spoke to the wrx day guy who can be nice or nasty. Can't remember his name but you know who I mean. He said he had no issues with me using a non-approved jap cage as long as it wasn't dodgy. For the cost involved in a a full cage it isn't really much if you plan on keeping the car for a while vs being dead or paralized.

Just thought I'd ask to see if anybody has used them. They have a very professional clean workshop In there they had some high hp gtr's and other imports and they also have a proper 4wd dyno setup in a sound deadend room. I'm in need of a tune and I know Ben does good work with tunes that keep engines going but I thought I'd ask the question about this workshop.

Could the Jaycar 0-5volt kit be used as a torque split controller? I already have the hand controller so is this an option? I just thought that with some of the cheap ways of doing this the 4wd is constantly slipping and the transfer case gets damaged. If I used the 0-5volt modifying kit on the two outputs I should be able to have the car drive normally and the amplify the voltage to make it engage earlier when its needed. Any objections to this? Bmwccv Phillip Island Sprints. 14th October ($220)
Rowdyr32 replied to pontiff's topic in Archived Events
Might be interested. I'll find out on monday if I can get my suspension by friday. If I can I'll try and get along. It should be better setting the car up there instead of Calder. Saves doing it on the NSW trip and PI is awesome fun. Now I might also have 4wd aswell with the abs in. Also I bought a book (Going faster) and would like to try out a few of the simple things I don't do that it recommends. Roy turn the boost down and have fun. Thats what I say to myself until I'm out there and the more boost button gets pushed.
