  1. i just started a course, its not easy to learn. i'm not looking forward to learning all those kanji.
  2. Nathan Weissel, winner of the 2007 NSW Drift Series and 8th overall in the National Drift Series, has joined forces with Federal Tyres as his major sponsor to contend the 2008 series. After competing using Federal Tyres in his early days of drifting, why has Nathan switched back to Federal Tyres? “I tried other brands but the Federal tyres are still my favourite,” said Weissel, “they give me the best level of grip and control and do not suffer with heat like other brands.” Nathan will use Federal 595 Ultra High Performance tyres on his Nissan Skyline R32, with 235 / 40 ZR18 on the front and 265 / 35 ZR18 on the rear. “Federal Tyres engineered the 595 Competition Series tyre to handle the abuse of drifting,” explained Brett Quodling from National Tyre Wholesalers. “The 595 provides responsive performance at high speeds and exceptional adhesion and control when needed while withstanding excess heat from wheel spin.” Nathan will compete using his new Federal Tyres at the first round of the 2008 Drift Australia Series at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania this weekend. Special thanks go also to ACL Race Bearings, Wolf ECU's, Motul Oils, Stamford Wheels, GCG Turbo's and Sign Design for their support. 3. hey adam thanks for the feed back, looks like i'm doing DA again now so i''l have to wait a while until i get to do some track work. i'm still keen to have a go though, when are you going to do some more drifting?
  4. bbgtr, can we have some more photo's of how the side intrusion bars are mounted?
  5. aren't you bringing in a few, you must be worried that you can't register them?
  6. all hope is not lost yet, i still might be doing it. super tt looks good though, might have to do the rounds on after DA finishes.
  7. do you know how they stop you from going slow in qualifying and fast in the races?
  8. from my experience i prefer the super streets for the street, but i can't give an opinion on track performance.
  9. i'm not giving up drift, i might have to postpone it for this year due to lack of funds, but i should be right for next year. i'll still do local drift comps and interstate ones with decent prize money.
  10. amrs sorry, = australian motor racing series
  11. yeah there are budget constraints but it still looks allot cheaper than drift, as long as i don't crash!
  12. i talked to the promoter of arms today and he said my car should be ok in super tt and the handicaped thing sounds pretty cool.
  13. i kind of like the idea of racing door to door with other cars.
  14. i'm thinking of doing some circuit racing this year and was wondering what class people would recommend? i was thinking of super tt but i'm not sure cause i've never raced before. i don't think i'm going to be able to afford Drift Australia again this year, but i still want to compete in something. i'll have to modify my cage and i'm not sure if my standard brakes will be up to it, what pads do people use? thanks in advance for any tips. nathan weissel

its a shame 4wd aren't allowed. i think a button for a clutch would have a lot less feel too.
  16. about 300rwkw. i scando enter in fourth at around 140 and split the ripple strip with my front and rear tyres.
  17. i use fourth on every corner except the last one.

    ns thread discuss.....
  19. pm me the dealer please.
  20. this is a really interesting thread, its been 10 years since i did physics, and i didn't grasp it very well then anyway. hasn't anyone done many back to back chassis vs engine dyno testing? p.s don't forget the quarter mile time of the new GT-R is lower than it would be with a conventional gearbox due to the time saved with the DSG tranny (adds up over 3 gear changes)
  21. in top gears, wouldn't the shafts spin at the same speed? won't the overall shaft length be similar between them as they both have the same amount of components?
  22. are gcg confident that the turbo is the cause of them oil consumption problems? iv'e seen turbo's blamed before and alot of the time its not the problem.
