Awesome day! Great to meet you guys. I'm nice and pink now, Yay sun! Stu (I forget his nickname)'s R32 GTR got t-boned last night by a magna in a car park that was doing 60km/h and didn't give way to him. Heres hoping it all goes well for you man! Between you and Ben you've convinced me to get a R32 GTR now haha. Great to meet max! Nothing more awesome then a old dude with a mean set of wheels! And everybody else, if I say something to everybody I'll be writing a novel. Awesome cars, awesome people, you can expect to see me in the future. Thanks to everybody who organised, ran the raffles, and just generally helped out. Naughty people doing skids When you did them the only reaction you got was "what a dumbass" from everybody. It wasn't the time or place for it. Other then that, awesome day!

Supprise Breakages... Tell Your Story Or Saga...

Too much weight on the front... causing a loss of traction. Please say no to fat chicks sitting on your bonnet while you drive, it will cost you in rear tyres! -
Eh? Wah? That's about how Long uni courses are... 3 years for degree, 4 years for dual degree. Unless you're talking uni to become a mechanic... then you'd do uni and have to learn after you finish. I wanted to do a course, best learning... buy a shitbox, say a AE71 corolla. Find one with some rust, various small issues and needing a rebuild. Parts are cheap as chips, it's RWD and you can learn to do body work. Best part is you won't give a sheet if you break anything. I'm going to hunt one down after I get my daily and turn it into a decent project.

Sounds dodgey. Get the checks, get the RACV. Make sure it goes up on a hoist and check over. You don't want a dodgey skyline. When test driving I tried some that seemed so nice... but were ridden with hidden issues and others were just crap haha. Good luck!

Yep talk to the legal boys. In this case you shouldn't be have to pay for the front end damage as the BMW is responsible for damaging the car infront. People look at me funny when in the wet I sit about a whole car distance behind the car infront of me while stopped. But I'd rather not have the issue of the dance and prance to cop hitting the guy infront of me after being hit. Simply put, the front damage and damage to the other car is his fault. The rear damage is your fault. Find a decent solicitor and he'll take it down.... you're still looking at a decent penny for the rear repairs, but stuff the aircon etc... Good luck! And next time... get your insurance first =\

Supprise Breakages... Tell Your Story Or Saga...

1993 R33 GTS-T Replaced all studs, only 4 broke in total but replaced all of them anyway. Rear shockie leaked all it's fluid out, replaced both rear shockies. Front left wheel bearing going, goes into Nissan Thursday to have both front bearings replaced. Atmo BOV causing backfire/idle issues, replaced with standard plumb back bov. Dodgey front speaker wiring, replaced with new properly installed wires. Original gearknob falling to pieces, replaced with Nismo leather knob. Rear seat bottom half not bolted in, found bolts on the floor and bolted back in. Passenger side door lock not working, found all the rods were bent got lock smith to fix. Pod without mounting bracket... it was just sitting there on the I/C piping jumping around, replaced with Apexi kit with bracket. Small hole in sidewall of front passenger side tyre, new tyres all round soon. Digital Climate control buttons broke off, fixed them... took me 3 hours! Centre console latch not holding, fixed it. I'm upto 2 months owning the car now... *sigh* Almost due for it's major service (already have parts). I bought a boost controller... that isn't fitted. Was going to purchase a FMIC and fuel pump but was waiting to get all my "small" issues fixed, and get everything tuned (has SAFC II already, cat back exhaust, Apexi Pod Filter). So here I am just fixing all the issues. I can at least say if anybody buys it off me they won't have bullshit things appear like this. Yes I got a RACQ check, yes I looked over the car and had somebody else do it too. Freaking car... I love it, but hate it all at the same time! -
Count me in, I'll be there with or without passengers. So if anybody wants a free ride or knows somebody who showers and brushes their teeth. Then give me a PM! Cheers, Ben

I grabbed a twin pack last week, the $120 ones. Do a decent job, makes for fun listening to the truckies on the way to work! Also get to find out where the cops are accidents etc... Came with a twinbase charger and I got a incar ac adapter too. So no worry about going flat. I already want a more powerful one

Couple days ago spotted a Silver R33 pulling into the woolies Servo at Grand Plaza in Browns Plains. Had a SAU sticker... don't remember the plates. I was in my Black R33... it needed a wash! Don't see too many lines around there. Though a couple have popped up the last 2 years but they are usually in pretty crappy condition.
-
Cheapest I've seen was 6k and it was pretty much in need of a rebuild. They aren't cheap that's for sure =\ prob cheaper to sell your car and buy a R32 GTR in the end =\
-
Pretty sure they are just plug in replacements for the R32... I pulled my R33 one out in 5 min which includes removing the headunit and dash parts. Should be a plug in the back... just make sure you get the same type unit and you should be fine. Unless you're saying you don't have digital climate control and are changing to it? o_0

I'd replace them, but I'm picky First you'll need to identify which belt is lose, they all have a little bit of slack... but you'll notice if one has more then the others. Then find the tensioner/pulley that is on a sliding hole (when you loosen the bolt it can slide along that hole). Then just slide it until it's reasonably tight. It's not a big deal, but just remember to be careful and don't make it too tight as to stretch/damage the belt.
-
Sounds like a belt is a bit loose and when it sits it slides toward the back of the car and rubs up against something. Which belt is the scary part! Could be simple, A/C, Power steering or Alternator... or SCARY, Timing belt. Get a Mechanic to check asap, or look yourself... but I'd say from what you've said you wouldn't know if the belt was too loose or too tight. So go the Mech

Cheers! I managed to slap the guy up a few times and have got the right studs. mmm... Stud! Already replaced the broken ones... now to replace the other 16 ARGH!
-
Get your engine compression tested first to see if it is actually "tired". I know RB20s feel a bit tired to me after being in my car with a RB25. I'd def go the RB25 over the RB26. Heck even stock in a R32 they go nice and quick. Just do the usual turbo, power fc, turbo back exhaust with bigger cat, pod filter and fuel support upgrades and you're laughing. 260kw in a R32 would be crazy fun and fast too boot. 3500 for half cut, $5000 on upgrades (turbo, fuel support, exhaust) then add labour. But remember... you've got general maintence of a older car to deal with. Since buying mine I've replaced all the wheel studs, rear suspension, front wheel bearings, front tyres and I'm due for a major service soon. Only mod I've managed to put on is a new pod filter. I'd say your best option in reality is a RB20 with a bigger turbo and some other upgrades. 1.5k for half cut, sell the gearbox as you have one already or swap and sell. Prefer a rebuild for realiability (you should rebuild anything you put in to be safe) and then just put the usual performance mods. If you do pistons, rods etc... you can put some decent power down with a RB20. All choices, all expensive! Or, replace with a standard RB20 in better condition (or one that has been rebuilt, some go for cheap), enjoy it for what it is, save up, sell yours and buy a R32 GTR, R33 GTS-T.

Hey guys, Just after the part number for the R33 GTS-T Series 1 (1993) Wheel studs. I'm getting all of them, but I assume they are the same all around. Thanks in advance, Ben J

Hey guys, I'm just after the Part No. for wheel studs all round for a R33 GTS-t Series 1. Don't have my vin on me Went to nissan spare parts and ordered 1 after he took my vin etc... and he got the wrong size. Hey Guys, Just chasing a pair of rear coilovers for the rear as my drivers side one has sprung a leak (well it pissed out all the fluid!!). I need a set for the time being while I get new parts sourced and fitted (it's my daily, so need to be able to drive it). Make offers, I'd prefer ones that aren't leaking, but not too stressed if they are a bit as it's only meant for 2 weeks. I'll pay postage from anywhere in aust for overnight devliery as I need these asap (car feels totally shit as it's reliant on the spring only). For those wondering, no I'm not driving it, but I can only borrow the current car for a couple days. Prefer somebody in Brisbane as I can pickup today. Contact me via PM Email: [email protected] Phone: 0433621708 Cheers, Ben J

Motul Turbolite 10w40 RB25DET Previous owner ran Mobil 1 Synth.... I changed it to Motul due to friends advice, I am not looking back. Felt the difference after the change, whole thing is quieter and smoother (I sit and listen to how my car sounds a lot, I like it working haha). Good luck with it Edit: Look what happens when you open a thread and leave it to reply on your break!

400km for 50L if I do the odd bootful. 450km for 50L if I drive nicely. I think it would be around 550km for a empty tank (I always leave the 15L in there and fill). I've got Apexi Pod, Cat back exhuast, SAFCII (came with the car, bonus! Doesn't appear to be tuned though, the Correction scale never moves). Rest is stock... The fuel usage isn't that bad really, and it isn't running lean as it gives a bit of black smoke when I first boot it. Too bad I do 80km of travel a day for work (40km there and 40km back), so Corolla on it's way Check your O2 sensor... seems the common thing, otherwise take it to a tuner and get them to diagnose it. Sure it'll cost cash, but it'll save you bucket loads of cash in the long run.

Bye Bye Turbos. All signs point to turbos. Just unbolt the cat and see what surprises are to behold. Compression test before putting the new turbos on.. or even before you buy them as chances are you might need the rebuild. I never let anybody else drive the car since I bought it. It's not a car you say "sure take it for a spin", it's a car that should be taken care of and learnt how to drive it safely over time (hopping in for the first time and boosting = dangerous). Good luck, hopefully you won't need the rebuild

It's not something that came from factory that's for sure. Also the front bar is a bit down on the passenger side, you can see the gap it leaves along the bonnet. Good luck! Cheers, Ben
