  1. Just arrived in Brisbane from Sydney and love it here! Just one question is where is the best place to get used parts for my baby. Used to go to Just Jap in Sydney , any where like that in Bris? Have seen lots of importers but parts seem a bit scarce, probabely looking in the wrong place. Thanks for all info.
  2. The sump plug screws into a captive nut spot welded to the sump. If the plug turns both ways and does not come on or off, the nut or spot weld have broken or is stripped.Sorry sump off to fix if the nut is loose or you might be able to drill out and tap oversize if the nut is stripped.Get the plug out any way you can ( I have used a large screwdriver under the head of the plug while turning before) and then assess damage.
  3. Just as further note I received my filter and fitted it straight away. The test drive showed excellent results. As I wasn't expecting any major power increase(my car is still completely stock 1997 GTST)the change was really noticeable. I had better response to throttle with minute increase in noise. The overall feeling was that engine had more pick up and a slight increase in power.I can recommend this kind of upgrade if you don't want the hassles of a pod filter.
  4. My measurements show that these filters will fit straight into standard R33 air box as they have the Ryco number that I have fitted already(same as a Pintara that my son drives). Iwill take 2.Please check your mail or email me at [email protected] Thanks
  5. I think you must be right. Found the outside temp sender was in the right place(in front of & below the radiator) but the clip was broken and someone had wrapped the whole thing up in black tape to hold it on!(good insulation job) removed the tape and tested again & got a more realistic reading. Also found that I had not refitted the hose to interior sensor. Now it works OK!! As a side thought does anyone find the ventilation not real good? Climate control works fine but turn off A/C and only limited air flow through car, seems to get a bit stuffy?
  6. I recently did a climate control diagnostic test on my R33 Series2 looking for a temperature problem. Following the diagnostic routine (posted many times) all was well except when testing the temperatur readings from the sensors. It was a cool evening and I got only 2 readings 17 deg and 31 deg. Could anyone tell me what the second temp reads (inside or outside?)so I can finish testing Thanks in advance
  7. I took a quick view of these 2 companies web sites as this is a good point. Try www.stp.com and www.nulon.com.au . I found that the STP site was fairly light witn info, but nulon clearly stated that their products are suitable for turbocharged and performance engines, and made in Australia. Check it out.
  8. I have found the STP products are available at most good spare parts shops, I even saw it last weekend at K-Mart. Happy Shopping!!! p.s. Nulon makes an equally good product.
  9. Try using water. This is done by getting one of those trigger pump bottles, fill it with water, spray it over inlet manifold ,vac hoses, injector seals ,throttle body or any where there is vacuum. With the engine running, the water is sucked in and momentarily makes the engine run rough.Bingo, vacuum leak found!! Also make sure all connections to the turbo ,intercooler etc are tight.
