  1. I previously had a vl calais but soon saw the light and turned to a R32 gts-t. If your from Ipswich you will understand where RB20INSIDE is coming from. For example. First week i had my car i went for a drive to the nortorious Ipswich lap. Every set of lights had 17 year old wankers in vc vb vl all sorts of commodores, revin there stock engines and just being complete dickheads. I did about 3 laps with a Red VL commodore with a homemade body kit trying to race me the whole time. Obviously being the odd one out in an import amongst bogans. On the last lap me and a mate decided to head on out after seeing the skanky girls that hang out in there and thought enough was enough when some f#$ken dickhead drove straight up my arse. MY CAR WAS ONLY 1 WEEK OLD. How do u drive up somebodies arse doing 40km/hr? Only a young moron who has no drivin skills what so ever. It took months for the smash repairs to fix it as they were so busy (obviously that shit happens a lot in there). I will never go into Ipswich lap again. But being a ex vl owner i can seriously say it does depend on the people driving the cars. So in conclusion i think its just IPSWICH lol everywhere else i have been after that, i have had a ball cruising with other imports or tough vl turbos as my mates have a few.
  2. shell extreme is not made to go into any nissan before 1998. If you go onto shell site they have all the cars EXTREME is compatible with. So i prefer to stay with OPTIMAX or BP ULTIMATE
  3. Have no cat at all that would make more horse power just gotta watch for emission testin. When i brought my 32 i had no cat on it and had to put a magic performance cat on. Ive seen a car that would start up and the second you put your foot on the accelerator it died. Took ages to relize it was the loose honeycomb part in the cat blocking the exhaust flow
  4. yeah but had a lot of other things taken as well and insurance only covers up to $500 of car accessories had subs and amp taken too.
  5. Dont worry mate when you do your engine conversion you'll have the last laugh. You can drift most rear wheel drive cars with an LSD. Last night was a stock as a rock sprinter n/a at queensland raceway and was doin alright. probably had around 90 kw, but like Big Rizza said in the wet you'll have a ball

  7. when my AFM went it was doin the same sort of thing. Idoling a bit weird, stalling sometimes and missfiring. Replaced it with a R33 AFM and no worries problem gone. Thats the only thing ive had close.
  8. HI all. I recently brought and apexi avc-r boost controller for $550 , second hand and in perfect conditon. Wasn't a scratch or mark on it. I had it at my house and while i was at work some moron broke into my home and stole it . The funny thing is they only took the screen and left all the wiring etc. Useless to him and now its useless to me. Just want to find out if there is anyway i can replace a screen from somewhere rather than buying a whole new controller. Cheers for your help Ryan
  9. http://www.jbskyline.net/R32/Sedans/Specs/#gts tells you a bit on this link but doesnt mention much about 1/4 mile times or 1-100 times
  10. 1/4 mile time would be in the 16 sec but couldn't tell ya the 0-100 time . power wise probably around 100kw but not too certain, will find out for ya though be back in 10 or so.
  11. They handle like a dream, but performance wise aren't anything special. It would be a good car to get to start off and look great. Would be a good idea to do a conversion when your off your P plates then your talkin power
  12. Charlies Motors at Woolongabba, He's a champion and really knows his stuff. Put my high torque clutch into my car in under 1 day always gives your car back running sweet. HIGHLY recommend him.
  13. are you serious ELECTRIC HICAS????? shit hey
  14. HICAS, rear wheels turn 3mm either way after 80klm. Theres an extra 2 oil lines that run to your rear wheels that are fed pressure once you hit 80klms. If have trouble drifting with hicas ( need slightly quicker reaction time ) can buy a kit to block of the 2 extra lines or can simply put to screws into the lines to stop the pressure being fed to your rear wheels.
  15. Go the R32, beautiful car got everything you need and later down the track when you want more power your payin big bucks to do a turbo conversion. you'll already have one. Ive beatin na supra's i just stay away from the turbod brothers lol and besides the price of a na supra is well over the price of a GTS-t. dont not think about a 4 door either, not many out there so your different straight away and dont have to get out all the time to let the girlies in. lol
  16. Just got this off another forum not sure if its correct or not but anyway. ""What grade of Ti is he using? You said he ran an aerospace company, so I'm guessing aero grade? That would be 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium; or 6% aluminum, 6% vanadium, and 2% tin - I think that's right. That stuff is rather expensive as I understand it""
  17. Plastic Injection Moulder. Same here saved for a very long time to even think of getting a skyline, but mainly to keep up with the insurance. Dont really want a GTR just happy to work with the RB20
  18. do you have anything in the way of a t03/t04 hybrid
  19. what year is it? i think 92-93 models have velour seats etc
  20. Seriously any serious car enthusiast wouldn't buy a VL Calais if it wasn't turbo. Just cause your VL is a piece of shit doesnt make the ones the same. And if you knew what you were doing you wouldnt be replacing the head with the standard head. For $2500 youd be close to gettng rb26head. The R31 and the VL are both over 18 years old so both will need attention to get them looking good again. The other good thing with the VL is there are a lot around for spare parts which you'll never have trouble finding. and when either car is finished, resprayed etc the VL looks ten fold better.
  21. Go the VL Calais there a beautiful car and when rebuilt run like a dream, RB30turbo with supra 5speed its a cheap reliable car. Plus are able to run reasonable boost putting out good power very fun. Leave out all the kits and crap. Had one that was hot house green over silver with 17" low profile perelli tyres just looked a treat. Will always look better than the R31 and perform pretty much the same.
