They are always polite to me, but they recognise me. I have given them plenty of business, and taken plenty of other customers. In terms of duds - nothing like rubber flying off, just vibrations and stuff.... These tires are from germany, and wuite a few are from cars that have been in accidents. So there is a possibility that there may be flat spots and stuff.... What I do is: I pick a set, put them on, then go for a drive around the block (b/c they can be slippery with the stuff they use to treat them), then go on the freeway and see how the car feels at 100km/h (freeway is next to this place) If I am not happy, he changes them for me with another set. I usually give him something for his time too (extra $10 - $20, if I get a set I am happy with) b/c there is no way he can know if they are stuffed unless he puts each tire on a car and does a before / after comparisson, and that is rediculous.

Help please...R33 missing >3500rpm and at idle
Zahos replied to red900ss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had the EXACT same thing a few weeks ago. Even though it didnt show up on the computer at nissan, it was a coil pack. I couldn't even get it to go past 4000 rpm!!! One of them was mysteriously missing the small spring in between the coil and the spark plug (Mystery b/c I always do my sparkies, and I always make sure the spring is there...), and the coil turned green. Take your coils out, check you have all the springs that sit in them and give them a clean if your see any green bits. Then Araldite the bastards as described in this thread. That should fix your idle and 3000 - 4000 rpm hissitation! If you still get a miss around 5500 rpm though (not like the one you had at 3500), then it is time for new coils. Luckily for me the araldite fixed the problem, and the car pulls hard all the way through to redline. -
Whirring noise from the front of my car (R32 GTS-t)
Zahos replied to Rayage's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i have the same problem right now. Only after about 3000 rpm when driving, i dont notice it as much... it comes from inside the cam cover, but it is hard to pinpoint! I took the cam cover off and still wasn't sure... anyhow, it turns out it is the timing belt on WAAAAYYYY too tight! Seeing as yours is new, you shouldn't worry too much, but get it done ASAP!!! Take it to the mechanic that put it on and tell them to loosen it. Mine has been on for 40,000 km, and nissan recomend that if it is a used belt, that you toss it once it has been overtightened.... So I told mine I wanted it replaced, I supplied him with a photocopy of the pages in the service manual that exp-lain how to change the belt (just to make him feel like a dick), and I demanded the old belt also be returned to me.... -

Various R33 Parts for Sale
Zahos replied to Blitz_boy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I meant the whole door, minus the trim, b/c it looks like he wants to sell it all together. I need the buttons too, b/c i want to make a custom door trim... -
hahaha, same here, not even a year old, WD.... I still bought another WD though

If you look at my 4th post, I have posted pictures of where to put it.... doesn't get any easier

hahahaha i used to be like that... I'm still polite (b/c I choose to be), but not weak at the knees... I had a friend who used to draw a lot of attention from cops, and his answer to every question was either: - yes KUNTstable - No KUNTstable - Fcuk you PIG, etc - (The few times they hit him): Your mother slaps harder and i like it So I got pretty desensitised by being around him. Don't think I would have the nerve to talk back like that though....

Well if it is going to be used to promote tourism, more appropriate slogans for overseas tourists should be: VICTORIA - Where the fcuk is that? VICTORIA - Who? VICTORIA - Where? VICTORIA - What's there? VICTORIA - The bottom right hand corner down under VICTORIA - Never heard of it! VICTORIA - Wife of David

Don't quote me, but apparently, if you have gates and you close them it would be considered tresspasing in this case. BUT if there are no gates or they are open, it's not trespassing...???? Sounds dumb, but I read it somewhere...

Ever tried to Claim that the RTA was at fault
Zahos replied to JAS-25T's topic in General Automotive Discussion
only applicable if the driver is familiar with the conditions at that particular spot. happened to me once, turning right, first time in the wet around this corner. Not only was the road oily, but the road had several small consecutive bumps. As I turned the corner VERY slowly in the middle of a gear change (so not accelerating) the car went slowly sideways into the next lane. This was at about 20km/h, I couldn't belive it!! Lucky there were no cars and i didn't hit the gutter... For all those in Vic, it was turning right onto Warrigal rd from South rd. If it's wet, ALWAYS take that corner as slow as you can.... -

Good on you blu, not enough people take matters into their own hands these days, which is why there are so many smart ass little shits around.... When I was 16, if I made a smart ass remark to an older kid/guy I would have had my head kicked in, and that’s the way it should be.... I have some little shits in my neighborhood (10 - 12) that used to come over, speak rudely, touch my car and annoy the **** out of me.... The second I yelled at them and threatened them their attitude changed, now they come over and I have conversations with them, and I try and teach them right from wrong.... They were just itching for some discipline.... Always look after yourself, your family and your property b/c no one else will! -

thanks SK for the bump. It worked great for me too (but did take ages to tune). But now I use an R32 wastegate actuator, and I'm putting a switch to the standard R33 boost control solenoid, so no need for this boost controller. -

I am intersted in the drivers interior door trim. If there is someone that doesn't need the trim with the rest of the door, I'll be glad to snap it up. -
they are cheaper than 1K, but still expensive check out nengun's price $5 -$10 for glue is still worth a try IMHO

hahahahahaha there is just not enough people in this world that take matters into their own hands...... the world would be a better place if there were... good on you, and thanks for the laugh... you might also want to keep some ball bearings handy next time, that pissed them off more -
Once they have warmed up, you can test the resistance on them, OR take it to nissan to plug it in and it should tell you. For the first method, do a search, it is covered in detail. taping or gluing doesn't really cost more than a few bucks. If it works, then you know they were the culprit to begin with. Obviously new coils are the better option, but if you can save a few bucks, it is worth a try... if the coils have a crack (which most do after X amount of km or years) then the spark can arc from the crack in the coil, onto the head, meaning you will get considerably less spark to your plug, and it will not ignite the fuel entirely. This causes misfire. The coils being made of a thermo plastic, cant be plastic welded, so they need to be covered with some sort or epoxy that will stick. If you look at the back of each coil pack, they actually come covered with an epoxy, so using araldite (which is an epoxy) should be fine.

Is this intercooler piping big enough?
Zahos replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
it shouldn't I used piping the same size as the stock R33 pipes, which i think is the same I dyno'd my car with cooler, exhaust, boost (9psi) and SAFC2 (A/F ratio's at a perfectly flat 12:1 all through the power band), and achived 200rwkw. If all stock intake pipes you wont be changing are 60mm, why would using larger pipes just before/after the cooler make a difference? The 60mm should be more than adequate for your modest needs. -

What car was it for? R32, R33 or R34? do the corners match up? if not, has it poped out from there at all?

Zahos replied to Zahos's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
here are some pics the current hoses and fittings are designed so that it sits nicely around the standard R33 airbox. If you have a pod, you could probably do away with a bit of hose. Even with the current hose length, i never had any boost spiking. (verified on dyno)
