  1. DUDE IF U WANT TO MINIMISE ATTRACTING THE COPS ATTENTION DONT SPRAY IT SKYLINE BLUE. A subtle color helps heaps, perhaps silver? And i do agree, after reading your thread, i think you should sell the car, and go back to school, the funds should be cover some of the school fees man. Trust me, you wont regret it.
  2. May i be quick to add that rebirths are all not that bad. You might even get a better deal than normal. Say, guy gets illegal JDM Sti into the country, and registers it using rebirthed plates. He makes money u get a JDM Sti for AUD delivered price. Hey...win win situation
  3. obviously its rebirthed sorrie but it sounds like u want pple to convince u its legit so u can buy it because u want to...is it very cheap?
  4. I reckon a deposit is pretty dumb and pointless seriously $500 dosent weed out the tire kickers from the real buyers. If u r looking at the $500 as a form of damage insurance...think abt it, if he does crash ur car, its gonna be alot more than $500. Personally i've driven enough cars to know how roughly all of them feel like. And you dont have to necessarily drive it to know how it feels, sitting in it will give u 90% of the picture, power delivery, handling, and so forth, the only 2 things u cant tell from t he passenger seat is the steering and the brakes. so just volunteer to take them for a spin round the block should do.
  5. Im not sure if its possible to retrofit the bmw sat navi into the car again regardless im sure that no aftermarket sat nav can blend seamlessly into the the tv screen on the car. With regard to power, i think the best power up option will be an ESS supercharger kit that gives the 330 more torque than an M3. Go on the net and seach for ESS supercharger. I think u can find it on www.my330i.com total tab for that should be abt 10k aud
  6. Thats true, i've never stated for the record that fords and holdens are great either. All im saying is that you cannot expect a 15 yr old car to run forever without considering some sort of overhaul in the near future. And once you factor that in, the economic sense of owning such an old car comes into question. Perhaps there are one or 2 15 yr old GTRs in mint condition but honestly in greater generalisation, If you had 100 1989 GTRS and 100 2005 ford XR6 turbos, which group is likely to have more problems? I drive a skyline too.
  7. Im a skyline fan, but i think those of you who believe your 15 yr old gtrs will run forever on its original engine/gearbox etc are just ridiculous and living in denial. The car is mechanical device and no matter how well made it is, things wear, and eventually tear. To say that your 200000km skyline is still running ok is fine, but how long more will it last? do u actually believe it can do another 200000km? Your GTRS are prob now worth 15-20k Factor in an engine/gearbox/diff/turbo rebuild including every single wear and tear part and that prob works out to be another 15k. Have you taken it round a track and gun it for 20 laps at a go? Watch your engine blow smoke, your clutch and gearbox and diff leak, and everything creaking and cracking.
  8. Actually if u have a good nights rest and head off early in the morning, falling asleep at the wheel is not much of a problem. I left sydney at 8 in the morning got to the gold coast at 7 in the evening...
  9. think he meant spool up from 2500
  10. He can make the trip on his Ls with an older mate beside him I'd buy some accident insurance before u make that trip though...
  11. I reckon buying from private is alot safer. The big plus being that you are able to make a judgement of the owner when u meet him in person. Also the kind of house he stays in and his background helps alot in trying to determine the likelihood if hes trashed/crashed the car. But regardless the most important thing is that you, as the buyer needs to know what you are looking at. If you dont, bring a friend who does. Dealers make money from asymetrical information availability because most pple who buy from them have no idea what they r looking at, regardless of the history of the car and whether its been crashed or not.
  12. i am not sure what kind of car u r buying but im presuming it is a skyline and presuming that it is not a very expensive one (i.e <20000) in light of that and considering the availability of skylines in brisbane, i would like to suggest that you consider simply purchasing one in brisbane. Not only are u able to inspect the car in person (unless u fly to melb which again requires u to fork out money) u also save on rego and inspection and transportation charges. Unless u can say the car in question is a truely unique one in one aspect or another....perhaps u should simply considering buying one in ur home state as it really saves alot of trouble and potential headache
  13. No the last ones made it into 1998
  14. esp when u buy from kids on the silvia forums....
  15. To some extent doing up the gtst might be easier due to availability of 2nd hand parts... supra would prob cost more in terms of money or effort
  16. How abt selling both and buying an r34 GTR? and perhaps a 1991 mazda 323 as a daily. You have to be pretty specific though...do u want just a fast street car? a drag car? a track car?
  17. More of a man u mean? Real men drive rwd cars...not awd cars...hehehehhe
  18. If im not wrong those are fatter guards also from vertex....gives something like 20mm extra width
  19. Ok im bored...but just for the sake of it i tried to interpret what this was trying to say. "agen" = Urgent? "anutha" = Another "i is only new this is what 3rd post" = i am only new and this is my 3rd posting? "utha" = other "jasent" = has not?
  20. If you consider my nick as an adequate basis to ban me then go ahead and suggest it to the moderators. I am not abt to take pot shots at your nick. The statement i made was an objective one not directed at anyone in particular. You may choose to disagree with it but perhaps you would like to present a more reasonable basis of an argument rather than simply dissing my nick? I wont deny that my suggestion is prob not the best one in dealing with a problem i see plaguing the skyline forums due to the affordability of the car and its reputation with youths. I will state too that i have nothing against youths on this forum but its just sickening to see silly topics being posted all the time.
  21. Can we ban everyone under 18? its really dragging down the standards of this forum.
  22. Close The Thread This Is Wasting Everyones Time.
  23. There are a few japanese body kit makers that manufacture kits in ABS plastic and are as forgiviing as the original plastic bumpers. To locate them go out and buy the latest option magazine, or hyper rev magazine and u should be able to locate them. Cost is usually in the region of 1.8k i tink (excluding freight and taxes)
  24. Haha Can i say that you're an exception since you dont post silly topics such as this?
  25. They should ban 16-18 yr olds from signing up on these forums. Or can we just sniff them out from the silly questions and topics they post or the poor grammar and sentence construction that they use?
