Sequential shifter converter - Interested???
usuckpoo replied to supahiro27's topic in General Automotive Discussion
My question posed to you was not a rhetorical one meant to insult you, rather an entirely valid one imho You seem to paint the impression in your previous posts that your interest in the shifter was not for its fucntional properties but more for its novelty and that similar peer or public interest in the shifter was a driving consideration. Further you choose to cite the analogy of "who really needs a skyline when all of us can drive corrollas" I just asked if these were the compelling factors that led to the choice of your vehicle, since they seem evident in your interest in the shifter. That said, please do not huddle insults at me. Why the need to mention that you own 4 companies and such? Does that make you more of a person than the rest of us? Does tat render me a fool because i do not own such assets? Cheers -

Do u mean to say that you drive an R33 GTR V-SPEC (if you really are) just because of its novelty factor and that your mates think its a sick car? -

If the above conversation is still about the ikeya shifter then i can gurantee you will still experience missed shifts if u shift too quickly. You are still limited by the fundamental construction of the standard box. A mate of mine put it on for a while and realised that its not much more than a rice item. -

The biggest reason why pple move to sequential boxes is to enable faster shifts. Ikeya Formula sits on top of the standard box so the speed of your shift is still fundamentally restricted by the design and internals of ur own gearbox. It just changes the h pattern shift to a sequential pattern. You can argue that yanking on the Ikeya formula is slightly faster than shifting your H pattern gearstick, but eventually the weakness of your box will lead to its failure. -
Actually... what was the dealers excuse for not paying up? that they r not liable for the car once it leaves the yard?
-
I might be sterotypical here but to me....all dealers are crooks. (not importers...2nd hand car dealers)

Weird things you skyline does

1. On occasions my climate control would blank out. 2. During rainy days i occasionally have trouble turning the steering wheel when the car is stationary. No its not the feel as if the power steering died..but rather if u turned it slowly it actually has specific points of higher resistance and you'd have to increase your effort to turn it. -

How much is this R32 worth?
usuckpoo replied to SR20DET910TRX's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
169000kms.... Good chance that this car was already clocked on its way from japan to down under... so it might have done 269000 kms for all you know. So be prepared and set aside money for a rebuild....even at a geniune 169000kms.... -

I think the point is this...there are always dickheads out there...young and old. Its true that young pple will always try to find ways and means to kill themselves, regardless of watever car they are driving, thats just part and parcel of growing up. THat said, its lucky that no one here got hurt. So dont put this guy down just because he's young and was lucky enough to drive such a car, unless u r saint enough to claim you've never done stupid things when you were young. In the end, theres alot in life that depends on luck...perhaps fate. -
Rear End Half Cut For R33 GTR ?
usuckpoo replied to MINES_DATSUN's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
As mentioned in your other thread. You could look into buying a bareshell and swapping all the bits over. But then again why do u still want to drive a gtr? -

Mines: U might want to look into getting a bare shell and swapping all the bits over, since from the looks of it i dont think any if little of the engine/driveline is damaged. But the damage to the chassis is unrepairable. Everyone makes mistakes. Thats part of life. Whats impt is that we learn to emerge the wiser -
can someone tell me why their budgets are so big as to permit the purchase of such fancy cars for police work?

:headspin: haha Thats true as well....but looks are subjective...so which pedals look the best? Has anyone seen the stuff offered by nismo?
-
Contary the best racing pedals are no pedals at all. Anything that comes between your foot and the actual factory pedal further reduces feel. Its the reason why racing shoes are made with thin soles so as to enhance feel. So after market pedal caps (i call them those becos thats what they are...they do not actually replace the factory pedals) are actually a step back. If pedal placement is a problem (i.e u find it hard to heel toe because the pedals are too far apart) then u can try bending the pedal stem to get the pedals to sit at the correct height and position you desire

AFP announced NATS blitz starts today 7/1
usuckpoo replied to blackdoggette's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think the govt is trying to take a hard stand against the practice of vehicle modications because of the various social problems that it has been associated with over the years. Surely it does not imply that it is the root of the problems. But unfortunately that consensus is not shared by the majority of society -
