  1. Beware that even if your car is being trailored, they can stretch their long arm and still hand out a defect as long as your car is registered to be roadworthy.
  2. Triple core refers to the number of layers the radiator has. The easiest way to tell is by the thickness of the radiator. A single core is usually only no more than 10-12mm thick. U can count the number of cores by looking down the radiator through the top
  3. Hmmz if im not wrong copper radiators are always cheaper than aluminium ones.....
  4. Yeah We might have been a bit late...any chance u can repost it for a while?
  5. Those look like rather old SSR rims The current ones are pretty highly regarded as quality rims (i would associate them to be in the same league as volks) if im not wrong. They weigh a feather and r frequently seen on track cars
  6. * Big burn out cummon big burn out!!! *
  7. 14.7psi = 1 bar
  8. What size wheels were u running compared to the R33?
  9. Thats alrtie...the 5 speed box in the 7 was better matched to the engines power delivery characteristics anyway....and its stronger to boot....
  10. Those trying to compare an R34 and an Evo 8 need to realise that they are priced completely differently. The R34 commands alot more money than an Evo 8, further an Evo 8 also costs more than a regular Sti (The true competitor in terms of price to the Evo 8 is the Sti Spec C...of which the spec C is faster in all aspects). That said, the recent release of the Evo 8 MR costs slightly more, whose sole purpose i suspect was to beat the Spec C. Please try to compare apples with apples. That said, the (stock) Evo 8 is great value for money, with an average driver it will beat a stock R34 GTR in most tracks we visit today bar the largest high speed tracks. (i.e Nurburing?)
  11. I think its an issue of freedom of choice If you could have a car that can be 2wd on monday and 4wd on tuesday....why not? Makes it a good all weather car...and also renders it a good drift car on demand....
  12. U could also turn the 4wd off and u'd avoid the torque fluctuation problems....
  13. Actually imho Bride Seats are more suited to the contours of the asian body as they are made mainly for the japanese, if u notice recaros or sparcos are a little wider at the wing area compared to a similarly sized bride....so hence you guys might want to reconsider which seat is actually a better fit......
  14. please post pics thanks!
  15. Dude, All the older guys here are doing is to try and give this lad some good advice. While it is true that everyone's situation is different and it is not good to generalise/sterotype, what are the chances that our friend here is different from everyone esle? I'd say the chances are less rather than more. Personally i'd say go for a cheaper car first, say an old silvia or something. Even if you dont prang/scratch/screw up the car one way or another, at least with something cheaper and your mind at ease, you'd be able to explore the outer limits of the car and clean up your driving esp on these rwd beasts (And no please dont tell me you're good enough a driver...cos no one really is) Let us also remember that most great race car drivers today started out on a shitbox...and they too admit that it was these pocs that taught them the most. And remember, what ever budget you have prepared for maintence/repairs/mods etc (anything to do with the car), double it cos thats what you're actually going to spend.
  16. Someone once told me in nsw that the fine is 25k.... is that true?
  17. Dude posting a pic might help this sale along
  18. U could try hollowing out the cat and inserting a pipe through the cat. Benefits of this are: 1. The original cat is still in place. 2. If u tap the cat it wont sound hollow, since there is still some cat material left in it. 3. U get the performance of a straight through pipe...plus the flames to boot (i love the flames the most, although the performance increase is not much)
  19. Mr GTR, Can you enlighten us on why a 400R cant be complied? Couldnt it use the same plates as say....an R33 GTR?
  20. Yeah man i get what u mean... Thanks for the explaination! Good luck with the sale... what r u getting next?
  21. Ben, Any specific reason y gtrs run equal width wheels front and rear? Somone on the forum mentioned it was due to the need for the wheel diameters of the front and rear wheels to be equal for the attessa system to function properly. (Front and Rear wheels need to be travelling at same speed) But i would imagine...with careful calculation of tire profiles, equal diameters would still be achievable, while allowing for a wider rear tire (since a gtr is rwd most of the time?)
  22. Where did you find these pics? (r33 ones) i think the r34 ones were posted by the owner who wanted to sell it ome time back Wonder how the brake booster manages to clear the exhaust manifold...
