  1. Haha, whenever I was beside your car you were moving... too hard to tell the difference, compliments on the rims either way!
  2. Me me me! I'll put the deposit through right now!
  3. I noticed your car as well dude. Looks real tough, lovin the buddyclubs!
  4. Received my kit on Thursday morning last week, and I must say SK went above and beyond any reasonable expectations to make sure I received it in time. Dude is flatout amazing. Shocks, springs, swaybars, and bushes all went in on Friday. My impressions... the car is really tight and firm, no more jiggling or squeaking over ripples. It feels like the springs and shocks are doing the work now as the bushes no longer bounce. On larger bumps, pot holes and high speed undulations the car doesn't bottom out, clunk or crash onto the bump stops. It makes for a great drive on the street, you can feel the road and everything is very direct, so it is far from being a luxurious ride. Still far better than the aged Japanese gear that was under my car previously. In terms of handling, like lingeringsoul, I went to Wakefield on Sunday too. It was my first time out and I managed a 1:18.2570 on street tyres, the car was very progressive and felt great through the high speed corners as well and putting the power down through the slower stuff. I love it!
  5. Too carried away with the weekend trackday and forgot about this, If I can still get one... series 1 R33 Gts25t black powder coated please!!!! Let me know if okay and I'll put payment through in the morning.
  6. No go.... GCG started machining it out and then realised the bolt holes that connect the snail to the rest of the turbo would've dissapeared. Its about 2 cm smaller, but the rest of the housing is the same size as a VG30. Oh well, looking again!
  7. This is the thread I started about my housing; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=122394 Its got a few hints on identifying a VG30 including dimensions etc...
  8. If it is the same I'll take the housiong off you for sure!!! I purchased what I thought to be a VG30 housing as the snail was the same dimensions, unfortunately GCG found the bearing pack wouldn't fit as the diameter between the bolt holes was too small. Mine was stamped 45V
  9. Is it full titanium piping or just the tip? Do you have any pictures you can put up? or email to tuitahi at hotmail com
  10. OK, sweet! Lets hear it for more boost and semis
  11. I had an awesome time too! Now I need a set of semis and more practice to cut my time down! What sort of time should I look at running on street tyres and stock boost/turbo. I managed a 1:18.2, kinda hoped for better. One of the guys from Renew suggested I should have been trying for a low 16 maybe even 15.
  12. Can the series 1 R33 come with a scoop like the one on your car Bass? Running standard airbox so a scoop is must. **EDIT** Just looked at the picture of the 33 install, does it come half way down the grill at the front? Negating the need for a scoop?
  13. Shouldn't chat in a for sale thread, BUT... PM = Personal message... click the pm button and send someone a message. Like mail!
  14. SK, still waiting.... Can you give me an update, wanna book in a fitting time for this week.
  15. A bit of an update... I took the turbo and housing into GCG the other day, they agreed it was larger than my original and they would try to fit it. I heard back from them today, apparently it IS from a plain bearing turbo and the machining work would incur extra costs. They also said they wouldn't expect me to gain as much as I would from a VG30 housing, but they could fit it none the less. What do you guys think? Advice??? would the gain justify the hassle or should I try to find a VG30 housing. Slide do you have any you'd sell?
  16. Thanks for the replies guys... Slide, I'll have another try at GCG otherwise I'll be sending you a pm MANWHOR3, thats how I understood it, so considering the housing itself is considerably larger and will bolt up. The machining they'll need to do wont be any different than they'd do on a VG30 or a stock R33 housing. If thats the case it should be usable.
  17. The housing on my hi-flow has 21U stamped on it. kwazza11, are you speaking from experience? As the housing itself is larger does it need to be machined out? I know they'll need to machine parts of it but I didn't think it would be anymore than the stock housing was machined.
  18. Man I'm confused... lucky I was running late this morning and didn't go and argue with GCG. CEF11E, thanks for your input. I have the turbo in the car and will check it out at lunchtime. If the loose housing is not a VG30 it definately looks the same, if it is from a plain bearing turbo like you think could it be used anyway? Anyone else seen one of these?
  19. Thanks Bass! Back to GCG tomorrow morning now!
  20. Well based on your photo, and the ones I just took I think it must be a VG30... they are a lil blurry though I really didn't think GCG would get it wrong, if it is a VG30 I'll have to go and convince GCG what it is.
  21. Man I need to learn more about turbos... If thats a T25 flange on the loose housing, then that means the "RB25 Hiflow" sitting next to it has a T25 flange as well, cause they are both the same size. I just measured them and both the dump and manifold flanges are the same. I hope I didn't incorrectly buy a T25 turbo as well as a T25 flanged housing from two different people.
  22. Thanks Bass, The full turbo is from a R33 RB25, already hiflowed by GCG. I was hoping to get a larger housing for it ie, VG30 or R34. Don't know why you say the one with 45V is a T25. I just went and checked the flange sizes again and they are definately the same size flanges.
