  1. Nice result, did you have any issues with the jjr dump? I'm doing the same mods, but found the dump has a 10mm step at the bottom, (ie needs opening up to prevent a restriction) Looks like there isn't enough meat on the flange to die grind, so will have to crack ze welder out and fix up.
  2. Just a bit of an FYI for people thinking of doing the same. Do it! In preparation for getting a tune, thought I'd pressure test the cooler pipes, checking for any leaks. Car has been running fine (stock RB20, return flow cooler, 3 inch exhaust, 25 turbo). Always seemed a bit lazy coming onto boost, but hey, its a RB20. Never stalled, miss fired, or showed any signs of issues, so was reasonably confident I would find anything. Boy was I wrong, 2 of the joiners were leaking badly enough to blow away the leak detector, another 2 were bubbling, and one nipple below the throttle body wasn't even connected! Easily fixed by just repositioning clamps and making sure they were tight. This was on 14psi reg pressure, after fixing went to about 25psi on reg, all good. Kinda embarrasing really. Anyway, for anyone thinking of checking for leaks, do it. Wishing i'd have done it before I had the turbo highflowed, so I could see if fixing the leaks made any difference. Peace.
  3. But was your car run in 4wd on the dyno, or just rwd? If rwd then its not losing any from drivetrain loss.
  4. One of my mates has had his S15 tuned at unigroup, mild mods, only making 214rwkw, it feels more impressive than other much more "powerfull" cars. (tuned elsewhere) Well actually, its awesome, chalks 3rd. Customer service is beyond good, will be getting my cefiro tuned there once I've got the highflow on.
  5. Not bad Simon! Was looking over your car at ADGP, can tell its a wrecker bottom end, the block doesnt look like its ever been cleaned. Good work.
  6. Stao, I'd like the latest version of the highflow, not worried about response, will call you today, thanks for the reply
  7. So, my r33 turbo is getting highflowed at the moment, (thanks Stao!) what are peoples thoughts on what power it will make on an rb20det on 98? Usual support mods, nistune, z32, 800cc sards, return flow cooler, 3 inch turbo back, metal intake pipe Have seen results of previous highflows, but not results on the current profile on a RB20. Cheers
  8. Guys, chasing a 3 inch bellmouth dump for r32/33 Just jap are out of stock, As close to wollongong as possible, PM would be best, thanks
  9. Sent my R33 turbo in for a highflow service this week, can't wait to get it on and tuned! Has anyone tried a current highflow profile on a RB20?
  10. rb20 and rb25 head to manifold gasket are the same, rb26 is different.
  11. I think I update this about twice a year. Lurker, not a poster, haha Haven't been doing much. Pulled motor out to fix sump gasket leak, and replace hoses under the inlet mani, apart from that just been driving the wheels off it. Bought some more wheels, another 4 bubby club p1's. This time 17 by 9 +17, so 10mm more poke. Not bad for skidders. Latest day at wakey. Was all going good untill I noticed temps slightly higher, only by 5 degrees, so finished off the tires, came back into pits, heard a tell tale hissing when I turned it off, not long after, car was bleeding green Turns out one of the coolant hoses I had replaced had split along the seam, worst luck. Glad someone had some spare hose at the track, but by the time it had cooled down enough to fix it, and squeez my fat hands in there, day was almost over. Ran out of tires anyway, was going to do a few laps on the roadies, but thought no, car is fixed, and I still need to drive it home, called it a day. Oh and seems as though even the track isnt safe these days. This is the dummy grid at wakey Peace.
  12. Not sure on all your questions, but can give some input. When I registered my cefiro in NSW (bought from interstate with no proof of previous rego), I needed a engineers report, due to mine being brought in under the 15yr old rule. Pretty sure you wont need an engineers, just the details of compliance plate from SEVS. I had to get a blue slip. Also needed the hard copy of a greenslip. Not sure on black and white numberplates, they issue yellow and black on the spot. Not sure on the stamp duty. You can drive an unregistered car for registration purpose along the most direct route, obviously only for matters directly relating to registering the car. Good luck.
  13. Also check for shit jammed in the center brg rubber, I had a couple of small rocks stuck in there and it was terrible, also see if its flung a weight off the tailshaft.
  14. Was down in Tas for holidays, saw your car (i think) at the bridgestone, looks awesome. Loving the rims on the rear!
  15. Hey mate, is it registerable? does it come as it is pictured? with those wheels etc?
  16. ^^^ Sure thats not just a 6boost low mount? Not really similar to a gtsr, well in looks anyway. If its equal length performance should be similar. Anyways, seems like my question has been answered, the sound is all in the manifold, and exhaust.
  17. Thanks for the replies. Yes as a RB20 fan the sound that was coming from that car was obscene, in the best way. Gibson manifold hey? Assumed it was a gtsr, (not knowing a whole lot about gtsr's though well, that explains alot. Has anyone tried to replicate one?
  18. Hey Guys, After another enjoyable day at WTAC, and hearing the gibson motorsport cars, can anyone explain to me why the HR31 sounds absolutly mental? Is it all in the exhaust? (or lack of) Looking in the bay obviously it has the GTS-R exhaust mani, but still has an internally gated turbo. The note is different to pretty much any RB i've ever heard. Could it be its maybe revving harder?
  19. To the OP. As peeps have said above, if your stock handbrake is adjusted well and working good leave it at that for now. Too many people get caught up in the "i need XYZ to be able to drift" thing. I have drifted cars with hydro hand brakes and never liked the feel. Which Im sure can be changed by using different master cyl and such, but again, If your starting out, stock will be fine.
  20. Your investigations seem thorough! How does it feel 'seat of the pants'? Been in any other cars with similar mods and power? Have you had it down the 1/4 to check mph? that usually gives a good comparision to dyno figures.
  21. Well, that escalated quickly. There are some valid points in this thread, and I agree I could have worded the the original post differently. (although not sure if the msg would get through) My sole intention of this thread was the (slim) hope that either the driver in question saw it and thought to himself what he'd done, or someone knew him had a word to him. In reflection, maybe I would have been better off reporting it to the police, instead of relying on the possibilty that this community, which I consider to be a strong one, having a word to him. I also understand not every skyline owner is on the forums.
  22. My point exactly
  23. Hey Guys, I wouldnt normally post this, and If the mods dont like it they can delete it, but Driving home from Eastern Creek yesterday, a Maroon R33 GTR with the plates JET 26L was cutting in and out of traffic, driving like an absolute Dickhead, obviously speeding. Narrowly missed me as he cut me off, as well as many other cars. All while cracking (external) gate. Now time and a place for everything. This was 6pm along a busy Cowpasture road. My only hope is that someone that knows the owner, will read this and tell them to pull there head in. Its no wonder imports are targeted. FFS.
  24. Dude i'm keen to see the result. Props for doing something different. Im a mad RB20 fan, yes I get shit put on me but I dont care. It is my car after all. Yes i've driven other RB's, and yes I still have an RB20 in my car!!
