  1. Looking good. Have you driven it much with the exhaust valve closed? thinking of doing the same. Keep waking my 18 month old up when I leave for work!
  2. I've only had them in 16's. dont see much in 17's First cef, miss that car so much. Current whip, its looking houso as with the bonnet and uraids, but hate spending coin on panel and paint!
  3. fkn good! Advans are in my top 3 wheels, evaaaar.
  4. Lol, wasn't having a dig at you mate, Cars coming along nicely. Even with the current power, should be awesome to drive
  5. Dont see any rockers under that cover so a rocket cover is probably just as accurate.
  6. Long time between updates, basically have done nothing but general manitenance on the car, family life taking all the time! Have been able to get to a few drift days though, getting more confident in the car, loving how cheap it is to run (compared to my last s14) did the whole day at wakefield on one pair of tires, that weren't even new! Stock RB20 life. lol. Have some video that I took, but need to edit it to chop out all the down time, have one pic that Eiji from team red stage took. Also, sump has developed a leak, well, looks like its leaking from all the bolt holes, had a go at fixing it in car, but think I may need to pull motor to fix it properly, as I couldnt get the sump off while motor was in. Apart from that all is sweet.
  7. This is the missus car, our other weekender. This photo is in "Baby safe setup" coil overs out, stock suspension in, full exhaust back on. Little ones just turned 14 months, so coil overs and exhaust to go back on soon Daily is a BA EGAS falcon wagon. I do around 1000km a week, os its nice and cheap to run. Not worthy of a photo but, Whore of a car, gets used for everything. Lol
  8. Yeah s chassis strut brace can fit, but need to check first, I had to trim the throttle cable bracket on the RB20 in my cefiro to get one off my S14 to fit. I think you'll find cefiro/laurel specific ones run along the firewall to clear the motor.
  9. Dem sill trims, damn, never seen them before!
  10. That twin gate setup looks awesome. Much space between gate and strut tower?
  11. Turbo or non turbo? I thought they were different, your sig says your car is non turbo. What colour sticker is on it?
  12. I remember reading about this car back when I was in school (mid 90's), thought it was awesome, still do. And to think what it would of cost to build, back then, nuts.
  13. If there are any details you can see on the bearing around the side post then up, can get most sizes at work cheap (free)
  14. Nice work mate. Auto spiogot bushes are the worst! I've got buddy club P1'S on my cefiro, 17 x9 +27 and they are flush with rear guards at 90mm ground clearance and (stock) rear camber arms set to max positive. Same size on the front and with R33 LCA (so about 15mm more track each side) they poke around 10mm with 2.5 deg neg camber. Anyway, the ones you posted (17x8 +22 and 9 +37) id expect to not quite sit flush with the guard, assuming cefiro and laurel guards have similar dimensions Try the P1'S you have access too, see how they fit. They are a light wheel, lighter than my R33 GTR rims
  15. Yeah short track rocks! My Handbrake wasn't working that well either, wouldn't lock up unless it was already sideways, but drove around it
  16. Well, track day done, was freaking near 40 degrees at wakefeild on sunday I reckon, Showed up some weakness with the new cooling system, could only get 4 or 5 laps till it hit 100 deg c, then had to stop for it to cool down. Then near end of day thermos shorted, melted wiring, all sorts of shit. Managed to get one thermo going, just enough to get home. Would like to go back to a engine fan, but not sure if i have space, might have to get some decent thermos. Anyway, apart from that, the car was awesome! Did everthing right, felt good sideways, lil 20 did ok too. had to be going real quick to turn third, but did ok. So much cheaper to run than my last s14, only used one pair of 16's!! and did track and back plus drifting on 3/4 tank of fuel. Only have one shitty pic on track, but hopefully some others pop up. Packed ready to go Photo from bro's mate. Also, had to change steering rack, as the one in the car was leaking bad. Thought s13 would work. Hmmm, no. Lines are different. Long story short, had s13 hicas, r32 and r33 racks, none of which had the same line setup as my cef. Luckily I had the entire lines from the r33 setup, so changed everything over. Had to shorten column shaft where it goes into rack, apart from that, went together ok. Seems to have same steering lock as before too, some people say r33 racks have less travel, but not from what i can see. So, will fix cooling issues, and try to do the australia day drift festival. Will be peanut track, but will still be a fun day.
  17. Looking good, yeah stanley knifes can bite hard, our work has banned them, can only use self retracting ones now, lol.
  18. Thanks, the engineer I used was pretty easy going, mainly picked little things like general road worthy stuff, which I thought was a bit odd. (holes in firewall, airbox secured etc) He did ask for very detailed desciptions of the mods though. (i.e exact model the 5 stud knucles were off, exact model lca arms were off, etc etc.) Even looked inside the ecu to see if it had been nistuned, Pretty funny, cause looking at him, and the rods at his place, you wouldnt guess he'd even know what a nistune was, lol Coming from a hot rod background, where he see's alot of custom made shit, a plug and play nissan where every upgrade bolts on was easy enough. First trackday coming up on the 6th of Jan, f&*kyeah!
  19. Update. Lol its been ages since last post, we had our first kiddy born in April, so been flat out being a dad its full on. Cef has been on the road since may, been loving driving it around. Anyway, not long after I had it on the road, the engine fan flogged out, noitced free play in the clutch part. Replaced it with the z32 fan I had spare, they have a slighty bigger offset, that was ok until i gave it a bit of a rev, fan flexed forward, pulled the radiator into the fan. Should have known better. Oh well, good excuse for a upgrade. Picked up a ASI 52mm alloy rad and matching shroud, with twin thermos. Fairly straight forward install, had to massage the rad support a bit, trim down top rad hose, good call with the measuring! Ive got about 10mm clearance between one of the fans and the power steering pully, lol. Rad is fixed in position better than stock, machined up my own lower bushes that hold the radiator firmly. With stock rad and engine fan, used to run at around 90 celcius, and would climb when cracking it After rad, sits on 80, never gets above 85 when thrashing, awesome. Also got around to painting the other boot a bit better, and actually fitting it up, (soz for the shit pic) And been playing around with my Autech kit. Think I should have mounted the cooler further back, will have to chop too much of the bar out. Will get it fitted and painted soon. So next step is some power mods. The lil 20 goes ok for what it is, but needs a TD06 in its life. Might squeez a drift day in soon. Not long after the cef got rego'd the falcon daily died im the arse (EGAS, took 2 months, two mechanics, one Ford dealer to find the problem, was a drainer) So cef was playing family car for a while, didnt want to risk it on the track during that time.
  20. Whats the condition of the series 3 tail lights? can I get some pics?
  21. Nice to see a cef with some man size wheels (im still on girly phase) Good stuff.
  22. Well if the BM38 Has a smaller piston than the BM50, the pedal will feel different if everything else is the same, force=area x pressure. Thats what I found with mine, I went from r33 brakes with BM 38 master (cefiro NA I assume) to r32 master cyl, with the same brakes, and pedal was lighter
  23. Im about to put a s13 hicas rack in my cef, will let you guys know, from what i can see they look very similar, so i would assume the non hicas a31 v's s13 would be similar also. FYI i have no hicas, you can just plug up the hicas ports on the rack.
