  4. Hey all, This should prob be in the for sale section, hope no one minds, but it is a little urgent and thought we might have more luck locally.... A girl friend of mine is selling her 89 Silhouette as she is heading OS in a couple of weeks. This car has been driven very kindly by the same owner for 5 years and had A1 mechanical care. Original motor/k's (240,000km) 5 x original 15in alloy rims AC fully functional CD player Is registered until Dec 05. Needs a few minor repairs for RW that owner can't afford at the moment on saving for OS trip budget. Not much at all: windscreen washers replaced, sm pw steering leak, indicator bulb, boots, drivers seat needs tightening, bolt in exhaust manifold. if anyone is interested you can contact Leila on 0427 505515 or email [email protected]. Best offer over $500 thanks guys.
  5. annoying little bugger isn't it. Mine didn't 'appear' until about 3 months are getting and driving it, strange. Does anyone else have the little 'tinker-bell' sounding speed alarm..? thats a crack up! starts at about 105k, but over 110 and it starts croaking and making sounds like a cats eating it..
  6. sweet, thanks guys... just pm'd Chris, & he is just around the corner from me too. cheers

  11. Thanks for the post mate. Just took the R32 GTS4 to Neil this week for some maintenance. Car is running sweet and the bill was more than reasonable. Neil spent some time showing us some of the lines he had there (highly enjoyable!) and seemed happy to have us talk his ear off about our cars..lol I'm stoked to find a good mech 'and' a genuine bloke who didn't try bs me about my car (being a chick with a sport cars this was refreshing!) (even got to cuddle the puppy for 10mins Lookin forward to getting him to do some work on the Tori now. cheers

  13. well we both have our dream his (78 SS tori) and hers (89 GTS4) "babies"...lol but they are interchangeable depending on one's mood we have been house hunting for months now! trying to find a unit with suitably secure accom for 2 cars... The 'they're just cars' comments drive us nuts!
  14. black 34 yesterday on Gypmie road "raw34".. its always a sweet moment to see a 34 ..sigh
  15. saw a burgundy 33 too, park near subways on gympie road in Kedron, very nice..
  16. Reluctant sale – Nissan Skyline R32 GTS4 89 (Sep) imported to Australia Feb 05 complianced by a registered automotive workshop AWD 103,000 kms White coupe 4 sp Auto Registered to 8/05 (mounted plates OMX61) 3.5in exhaust with 5in tip Stock 16in rims with new 225/50 tyres Have only performed maintenance since arrival - no mods (running 10psi as is): - full major service - new exhaust pipe - L & R front strut bar bushes - new feed pipe to turbo - Bendix front & rear brakes pad - Machined rotors x 4 (receipts for all work done) Genuine reason for sale – have been truly happy with this car, but quite simply too cash strapped to afford the insurance payments and spend the money on her that a car like this deserves. Selling as is. Will be totally upfront regarding her condition, which isn’t perfect, but honestly you wouldn’t need to put much into this car to have it performing & looking awesome. Interior passenger air vent removed during transit from Japan; have new clarion stereo & speakers but haven’t had time to install – a few other minor marks inside but otherwise very tidy Some minor paint scuffs here & there (mostly transit joys once again) nothing major, just bits & pieces. It’s all obvious as an inspection would reveal. Can provide contact for mechanic who has done all work since arrival – mechanically excellent (comments were ‘goes & handles like a cut snake). Have performed most of the maintenance needed and some repairs; front cv’s boots will need replacing soon (quoted around $200). This workshop has also quote for full re-spray at $2000. This is a top little car that needs some spit and polish, but all who have seen/been driven in her were very impressed. Inspections from genuin buyers welcome – test drives for serious buyers only. Selling this car a lot less then market value; will accept best offer over $12,500 - but quite simply won’t sell for less, so don’t ask. Located in Brisbane Contact Paula or Chris: [email protected] Phone: 041 091 3537
  17. lol...well any cruz will be a good cruz hey thanks for the friendly welcome folks. will definately keep an eye out for everyone whilst out and about. The group buy on the viper alarms looks good. Cheers for posting that Slide. We already have a viper in the tori and its seems like a pretty good system so far.. modr33s2 - its pretty hard to compare the two, tori is a NA 253 (in need of a rebuild very soon) she revs hard/has a sh*t load more torque than the Line and is basically just a beast.. lol.. just a totally different experience, but beaautiful to drive The skyline gets the comments/looks from mostly younger ppl, but the torana gets alot of the older generations smilin when they see/hear her and remember when they had one 20yrs or so ago We actually travelled from Perth to Cairns many yrs ago in a little LJ coupe as kids.. they're all tough little cars... you can't help but love em'
  18. hey all, been kinda lurking here quietly for a while, reading posts (tutorials are great!!) just wanted to say an offical g'day and introduction. We're keen to meet up with some other enthusiast and maybe join in a cruise sumtime... Question first: recommendations for best car security systems? Thanx for any suggestions. Well my partner and I decided about a year ago we wanted to look out and see our two dream cars in the garage...first came the Tori mid last year, 78 LX SS hatch.. Then after months of searching, importation paperwork and patient waiting, the Skyline arrived in Jan this year... R32 GTS4 Its pretty sweet having these two cars, although keeping the dollars up to wish-list is proving a challenge. The lines awesome, been on the road about 4 wks, although she's been in and out of the mechanics sorting out a few issues, we're slowly getting her up to speed. The paint is a bit shabby up close (not so straight as we were led to believe), along with a fair few scratches and dents picked up on the not-so-gentle importation process, which was a bit of a bummer. At the moment all spare cash is going on internal health but hopefully we'll have her lookin nice by the end of the year. Dreaming of that day! So if you see us out and about give a wave and say Hi (white 32/OMX61 plates). Tho, im still learning to deal with the 18 year old punk harrasment factor of driving a skyline, specially being female, so plz don't be offened if driver seems zoned out ignoring other cars..lol. We're in the pine rivers area, and mostly stick around the north side of brissy. cheers all, hope every1's having a nice sunday arvo

  21. arhh, shouldn't have posted above. Partner just rang to say 4b driver pulled in front of car ahead of him this morning on the way to work causing it (pulsar) to swerve and brake suddenly, followed quickly by his 78SS torana taking it out. 4b owner left the scene in a hurry. damn, damn! was just looking forward to putting some cash into the Line too. oh well, such is life hey.
  22. Recently bought in R32GTS4.. 'lost' stock mag centre caps, steering wheel centre/horn and the buggers ripped out the ac vents! Shame! (have pics of all being on car originally too)
  23. nother female driver here, 31 with no acco's as yet (touch-wood!) Have to agree with comment about 4x4 drivers, they really sux, most drive like they own the roads. And how many of the things are driving on city streets nowdays, un-believable!
  24. Carmen Import Centre... Got several different quotes ranging $1100 - 1700. Their price is $1400, a little more then some others I spoke to, but very professional and helpful (unlike others) - Certified RAWS and personal 15 year imports. Highly recommended. http://www.carmenimports.com/ Just picked up my R32 GTST4 today from Carmen. The amount ended up being less than quoted ($1250 + tyres and a few minor RW repairs) which was a nice surprise and was completed in half the time expected! So even more so highly recommended. All work done was high quality and the interior was very nice and tidy. So pleasantly surprised all round. Really nice people to talk to and deal with also. Anyway enough said, just think they deserve a huge thumbs up.
