  1. ok so i've got power to both sides of the injector plugs... i just dont have a good pulsed earth... my ECU thinks its controlling RB20 260cc top feed injectors but its really controlling RB25 260cc side feed injectors... do i need a resistor pack?
  2. thats a sway bar matey... aftermarket items generally reduce body roll
  3. im going through the same dramas with my RB25 conversion right now... im so completely daft i cant quite figure it out. as far as im aware, that silver box is not a resistor pack... a resistor pack has 6 wires coming out of it, that silver box only has 2. EDIT: I think we need someone who is very switched on (sydneykid) to write us a tech article...
  4. alloy compressor... not steel
  5. Yeah the RB20 exhaust manifold bolts right on. also a Neo turbo should be fantastic. Dont bother dropping the compression. Use too thick a head gasket and you'll kill the throttle response. It will end up being like a RB20 with no throttle response whatsoever.
  6. Kates always keen to get her hands dirty!!! In response to those questions: natural boost is my term for running the vacuum hose straight from the nipple on the compressor housing to the nipple on the wastegate actuator with no boost bleed. The 10:1 CR will be fine... great actually The 260cc injectors will be a problem... i know this. Im going to tap the FPR on the head with a socket and hammer. The motor will drop off after 5000 im sure, but i can upgrade the turbo down the track. Yeah love i know nathan of course, and i sorta met you at indy GL with the conversion... Its not too hard. i f**ked my injector wiring cos im a NOOB
  7. there are a few variables when testing compression, such as; closed throttle open throttle number of cranks hot test cold test so rather than testing for a number, look for even figures across the board. eg: 140, 139, 141, 143, 140, 139
  8. i just bolted a RB20 turbo onto an RB25DE and shoehorned it into my ECR32.. should be a good thing but i think it will be restricted in the top end so i will prob choose a KKR 430 turbine.
  9. ^^^ agreed. dont you guys wrench on your own cars?
  10. yeah i was just about to mention that fuel lines backwards is always a killer but i still have no injector pulse...
  11. its gotta be something simple like a blown fuse or a missing earth
  12. ok i understand that now. 1st i will check if the injectors are getting pulsed at the main injector plug, then i will chase it back up the loom from there.. is said injector loom fused? maybe i have blown a fuse?
  13. bump experts needed please
  14. maybe the oil pressure sender is faulty... or maybe not...
  15. yeah your right, if the CAS wasnt working, it would not spark! So that rules that theory out... The Injector loom is earthed at the two earth points on the upper radiator hose inlet next to the two temp sensors... The block is earthed out correctly... ill buy a node light tommorow and have a looksee... man i hate wiring!
  16. Ok so i pulled finger this morning at finally got my RB25DE+T finished. Its got spark, and its got fuel pressure, but the injectors arent opening... Vital Info - Car is using a RB25DE (R33) with: RB20 Loom RB20 ECU RB20 CoilPacks RB25 NA injectors RB20 AFM RB25 CAS RB25 TPS What i had to do was cut the injector plugs off the RB25 loom and replace the injector plugs in the RB20 loom with the said RB25 items. This was simple, as all the signal wires are the same colour as the RB20 ones, however the common earth is a different (yet constant) colour.. Ok so problem: when i tested with a test light, the common earth on the injector loom will light up the test light when it is earthed on the battery's negative terminal. Why arent i getting a signal to the injectors? Is the CAS (which i know controls the injector pulse) not compatible with the RB20 ECU? The CAS looks identicle, and the plug goes straight on, but the part numbers are different. ,,,, that is me right now.
  17. obviously an export VL that never got sent?
  18. yeah simon but they are about 20mm shorter so sometimes there is a tailshaft issue, but most times, not problem
  19. as far as competition for the new GTR goes, possibly the new BMW 3 series. The M3's are moving to a V8 and the 3 series are moving to a Twin Turbo Inline 6
  20. what chassis will the motor be used in?
  21. if you said that to my face, i'd punch you in the head.
  22. whats a "come up" Kimi Raikkonen is Michael Schumachers replacement at Ferrari next year.
  23. kimi has moments of brilliance, but at the rate Massa is improving, i feel that Kimi may play second fiddle to Fellipe Massa next year at Ferrari. In any case, no matter what anyone says, post schumacher Formula One will be a different place. Also i agree with Wink, Alonso will struggle if he finds himself with mechanical woes. His attitude toward Renualt wasnt so good and they were bulletproof all year! Can you imagine how he will react to Mclaren once he has a few engine failures. he shouldve stuck with Renault or attempted to get the Ferrari drive.
  24. its not cheating motorsport has always been about finding the limit of the laws. its all well and good for everyone to rubbish MS on an anonymous forum but i bet if you were face to face with him, you'd grovel for an autograph
  25. ^^^ those naughties are merely MS showing his ambition and dedication to win.
