  1. Factory batteries in many jap cars would be around the 250cca mark. 350-400 would be plenty for a replacement. Higher capacity will give you more cranking power but won't necessarily last any longer and 650+ is generally used for diesel engines with their high comp. I've done a couple of thousand battery replacements back in my NRMA batteries days, so know this stuff fairly well
  2. Try the sticky felt pads used for furniture legs to protect polished wood floors. Might work, and the glue is pretty strong
  3. cheaper than many non-turbo models! i'd be keen to take a look but bought a four door already
  4. I'm really diggin this thing. The wheels really suit it and the rarity tops it off
  5. anyone fooled by that message should quit the interwebs now
  6. I don't know about the exact gt-t setup, but make sure you don't use the loom ground wire as they are useless on most Nissans. I've always had to ground the hu to the chassis. The voltage drop seems pretty high tho but head unit will still operate OK at that voltage
  7. Looks like a crappy flimsy aftermarket bonnet, probably some bad fibreglass copy. Otherwise pretty standard cheap auction car LOL Lets hope a bunch of imported 32's don't start showing up at all the "stance" circle jerk events, hardparked with airbags and wheel poke
  8. Dont bother with that windscreen seal, its just a piece of plastic that covers a part of the glass and the wiper bits, doesn't actually seal much. The glass is still properly sealed under the plastic
  9. the car i drove has done 70k and four auto box rebuilds so far. not sure not how many due to failure or to handle more power
  10. Drove an FG XR6 with 450kw at the rears Scary quick, but lacks build quality. Creaky door trims, paper thin front guards, bootlid rubbing on rear bar, overly high driving position, mudflaps held in place with single screw (loosely), unpainted plastic door mirrors and shiny plastic door frame inserts...
  11. Pretty much all automotive leather is coated with polyurethane and needs the right product. Creams and balms won't absorb and will sit on top of the coating, looking oily and attracting dirt
  12. ugh. whirlpool "experts" who argue about servicing costs all day
  13. time for some new friends this boat stuff is old and lame, people still think its somehow amusing
  14. Can buy a decent car for that kinda cash...
  15. Try Bowden's Own leather products, they are designed for coated auto leather. Removed years of oily shine from the steering wheel on my 200
  16. Do want... Previous version is one of my favourite cars, took one from Vegas to San Fran via Lake Tahoe, awesome desert/mountain road drive. Love the feeling of sitting in a wide, low bunker with a tiny windscreen
  17. I'm in the same kinda boat. Not really interested in chasing massive power and fixing all the stuff that will inevitably break while chasing that power. Also dont want my car sitting in workshops and being a guinea pig for shops owners at my expense, prefer to do as much as I can on my own Good thread dude keep it going

    Loud Horns

My S14 horn is wussier than a Micra. But the V35 is a different story, right up there with the beemers. Would be a good OEM option I recon
  19. work in progress - solid black 68 Mustang. Getting black right takes forever, full day Saturday and only half the car done
  20. I would say the issue is with the audio device being unable to recognise some modern USB sticks, and not so much how they're formatted.
  21. I just bought a "barn find" r34 and it had the same problem - turned out to be a dud connection on the positive battery terminal. Was cranking fine with a new battery, had all the ignition lights, just not enough current for the fuel pump
  22. s-chassis cars are fun for the money too. i have one so i'm biased, but the best value right now are the series 1 S14's, just buy a lightly modded car and keep it simple. not much breaks on them besides rattly vct gear and dud fuel pumps, rest is usual wear and tear from age and mileage
  23. Go for a four door Skyline, much easier to hold onto once kids come along
  24. first world problems... what to do with a badge
  25. Great idea dont know why other manufacturers have not come up with this before. I was going to use an ice hockey puck for my jack with a slot cut into it, but havent gotten around to it
