Biggest mistake EVER ! R34 Turbo
junkie replied to 34Red's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sounds like my R34 sedan experience - although my seller was a lot more honest about its history and condition. I still lost interest and flogged it after having it sitting around for a couple of years and losing about 3-4k on various repairs and upgrades -
What are your buying and selling plans?

Sell my S14a and buy a Megane RS275 Cant afford anything GT-R these days and not willing to pay top dollar for below average cars with bubbled dashboards, rust, accident damage, unknown km and 20+ years of human slime covering the interior -

The Stock R33 GTR
junkie replied to Steve85's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Get an optima yellow top once this one dies. they can handle many more deep discharges than any normal lead acid battery. Mine gave up only recently after 9 years of service and going flat 20+ times -
there arent many cheaper options with apple carplay or android auto, unless you go for actual android head units from china. so yes the price is pretty good

Is the modding scene slowing?
junkie replied to Robocop2310's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i lost interest in modding a long time ago, luckily before i had the chance to pump mass cash into any of my cars. over the years, and following many many builds, it becomes pretty obvious that heavy modding is a waste of time and money. many fully built cars spend their time off the road with breakages, never ending upgrades or being moved between different shops and the end result, while fun, is pretty much pointless for road use. it all usually ends with the car being parted out or sold for a lot less than it cost to build and the owner wondering where all their money went these days im more keen on well set up factory cars, keeping them stock and in mint condition -

Love quality work like this, its actually not that common. Whenever i check out modified cars i don't look at the mods but at the quality of the work, and 9/10 times its average at best -

Hey guys and gals Bought this car back in 2015 with the intention of turning it into a tidy daily driver, but no longer have the time or motivation to complete it. Plus, have too many cars now at this one needs to go to a new home. Still on 128k, runs, drives, pretty tidy overall, ready for blue slip Originally bought from a user here on SAU (Pac) and here is the original for sale thread: Some things I've done after buying the car: - Replaced the rusty bootlid with a spoiler-less version (still have the spoiler, will include in the sale) - Fixed the surface rust in the boot floor (plus a few other surface rust spots) - Replaced the suspension with set of Bilstein B5 springs and shocks - Replaced the head unit which died shortly after I bought the car, with a brand new Kenwood mechless BT/USB head unit - Removed the front mount IC and replaced with with a stock side mount (front mount core had some damage) - Tidied up the headlight wiring - Replaced the missing GT Badge - Replaced auto trans solenoid pack with a brand new OEM solenoid pack. Although trans still reports "Line pressure solenoid" fault - possible wiring issue and beyond my skill level The bad stuff: - Has not been registered since 2012 - Has had front end damage and the repair isn't top notch - Auto box has a solenoid issue mentioned above - Has a head gasket leak. Previous owner reported coolant loss but there is no evidence of any external leaks and there is the odd bubble in the radiator while engine is running) - Front bar is scraped and was hacked up for the front mount Will post fresh pics on the weekend. Asking 4k as is, not really keen on offers as I'm losing money on it already and given the overall good condition i recon its a pretty fair price PM for more info or if you have any questions -

Finally got around to removing the nasty yellow haze of the daily 35's headlights. No befores (just imagine all 35's that live outside 24/7) but fairly simple process: 1. Wet sand with 1500 grit paper 2. Polished with Meguiars Ultimate Compound and medium cut pad 3. Sealed with a Dupli-Color UV Resistant Clear Coat, otherwise they will just go back to being yellow in a few weeks -
