  1. Had a xtreme 9-puck in my car that eventually died, then replaced with a 6-puck xtreme that shat itself yesterday afternoon. Finding out what exactly has happened tomorrow morning, but it's likely to have welded itself to the flywheel. Might be able to rebuild it but once I found out I will have to decide rebuilding & hope it doesn't happen again, or put something else in.
  2. *cough* Unless you don't have a different set to do this have completely shagged the tyres doing it *cough*
  3. As mentioned if you can't afford insurance you can't afford the car....even 3rd party isn't really good enough because even though it will cover other cars/property, your car won't be... A friends Mitsubishi 380 got hit while parked near her work yesterday by a lady reversing out of her driveway. Thankfully they did leave their details & it will all get sorted, but unfortunately not everyone has the decency to do things like that, even if it is only small (like what's happened to my car a couple of times) Thing about the 380 is that it looks like a decent hit, the bumper has a massive dent & the inside of the RHS headlight is cracked, and apparently the steering now pulls to the right. How they managed that coming out of a driveway backwards during daylight I don't know, but at least my friends family don't have to pay with their own money to have it fixed.
  4. Quoted for teh truth
  5. That sucks dude I got flashed too but was probably next to another car at the same time so I might not be getting one, but would be early next week if anything because they should be processed at a similar time...
  6. lolololololol Shouldn't be anything wrong with the front mount, and it wouldn't need to be heat wrapped. I've never been told to cover mine with mesh in about the 10 times I've been through the pits. Can't picture whats wrong with it without seeing it, but just hide the wiring as best you can, tape it down if you have to. You can't get permits for exhausts any more, they are either too loud or they're not. Unluckily you got a cop who shouldn't be a cop.
  7. Your friend is an idiot.
  8. Tyres & the light you will have to replace obviously. What bov do you have? Would have to disconnect it or take it off & block it if it's an atmo. You might need permits for the gauges if they are above the height of the steering wheel, block and vision or possibly in a head impact zone if you were to have an accident. I'm guessing you might because there is 2 but I've only got 1 in mine, don't need a permit & the engineers report on my car explains why. They can ask you to open your bonnet & it's best to comply because pissing them off isn't going to get you anywhere. As for them revving the engine, they aren't allowed to be or look inside your car without a warrant or permission. I've had one cop do that to me when I already had a yellow & there was nothing else he could get me for, he was 2 seconds away from being told to get out & close the door before he just stopped looking & started talking shit. I would have made him get a warrant if he wanted to keep looking, because both of them were smart arses. Personally, if anyone is going to rev my engine, I am. Making a booking for somewhere will be the easier thing to do, otherwise you're at Welshpool or O'Connor lining up & you could be there for hours. But do that asap because they could even be booked out for a week or 2 & I'd be suprised if you've got longer than that on the notice.
  9. I'd assume he's with Just Cars & they don't have that in their policy. I had to replace one 3 years ago on my 33 & it cost me $260
  10. Sif too far back, I seen it all And I just quoted what you said before we left about the straights, I realised you were lying on the first one
  11. Consolidated workshop thread has the most common wreckers listed in there
  12. Oh and that silver s15, plates "15SUES" or some crap like that, he can't do a run through Mcness for shit.
  13. Yeah that promo chick got a good barry from me for her photos.....
  14. Thanks to everyone who came along, glad to see this time it was relatively incident free this time Well except for the speed camera being on one of the first streets... Ah those 4 lane....straight roads, they will kill you I'm either getting one or I was about level with a 32, like I said afterwards our combined speed totalled the limit, so that = win. Got a few pics at Carousel just have to see if they are any good & if they are they will go up. I can't believe so many people bailed from Churchman Brook pretty much straight away, sort of went against the point of even finishing the cruise! Can a mod please move this thread to the WA events section like last time too....k thnx Cheers Nathan
  15. Just a reminder that daylight savings finishes tonight, so remember to put your clocks back an hour, don't want people rocking up an hour late Otherwise everything is good to go
  16. Original post updated with the food info, we will be finishing out in the hills with a BBQ, simple stuff supplied but people are welcome to bring along their own food if they wish Looking likely for good weather for it
  17. Just about pointless to use on public roads, especially with winter on the way.
  18. Cable ties. Srsly. until you can track one down at least.
  19. f**k. What. The.
  20. 98.0 is the minimum rating, tests might be a little different which different types of fuel but they are pretty much similar all the way around.
  21. Yeah I seen a few people are unable to make that one but hopefully they can make this one because we haven't had a cruise in a little while Ask for the day off asap Andrew!
  22. Hey everybody, After the overall success of last years combined cruise we are finalising the details to once again meet up for another joint cruise. It might only be 2 weeks after the SAUWA Members cruise but it's a good opportunity to take advantage of the good weather we are having at the moment before winter gets here, as well as the chance to meet some more new people Please note this is a members only cruise so will only be posted in this section, please do not advertise this cruise anywhere else. As a members only cruise, friends are welcome in your car but not in their own. Standard cruise rules will apply as usual, and we hope for another great day out. As this is an afternoon cruise, we will be having a picnic/BBQ at the end. There will be a sausage sizzle where you will be able to buy a hot dog & bun for $3, or $4 along with a drink. Of course you are more than welcome to bring along you own meat/salad/snacks & drinks too Cheers! Nathan (on behalf of SAUWA & SilviaWA) Combined SAUWA/SilviaWA Cruise Date: 29th March 2009 Meet Time: 11:00am Leave Time: 11:30am Meetpoint: Dog Swamp Shopping Centre, Wanneroo Rd, Yokine (off Wanneroo Rd & Wiluna St, behind the BP where you can fill up before the cruise Please note and respect that this is not an open cruise and limited to members of SAUWA and SilviaWA only. Maps will be handed out at the meet. See you there! Cheers, SAUWA & SilviaWA
  23. A good start here: Don Stevens done mine as well as Sky 34's, great job as well http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/lic_IB...ngiSig_2007.pdf
  24. Also I should mention one feeling I think it might be could be something to do with near the front of the engine (the few belts & pulleys), as that's where the noise seems to come from when I open the bonnet. Only thing with that is once I open the bonnet it's harder to isolate that sound. But I'm not sure if it would be something like a squeaky pulley because I'd think the noise would be there all the time, not go away when the clutch goes in...
  25. Have to dig up this old thread as I've got a strange noise coming from my car that started about a week ago, similar to what's been mentioned here which has some good points being made, but now I'm not sure if it would be clutch or gearbox after reading a couple of replies. Basically I start the car & for a few seconds it sounds normal, and then I start to hear a whining noise from the front of the car. It will do it in neutral, even with the clutch in. Under driving it starts to get louder as the revs increase, but then goes away once the clutch goes in & comes back after releasing. The first couple of days I didn't mind it too much but today it was quite loud so I'm going to try & get it looked at asap just to see how bad it is. As for the clutch, the release point is still normal, no slippage & apart from the noise now I haven't had any problem with this clutch, got it about 6 months ago I guess but cant really remember. It's always made the noise everyone mentions at idle that goes away when you put the clutch in (throwout bearing??), but this noise hasn't got anything to do with that & sounds like it's coming from a different part of the bay. I'll just run that again with a few other details to get some feedback from someone who knows more about it than me * Whining noise after start-up at idle, clutch in or out. Also my idle is sometimes steady but also drifts between about 900rpm-1200rpm or so (up & down), when it does this the noise gets a bit louder but when it drops right back down goes away for that split second....only noticed that a couple of times though * Becomes louder when driving before eventually being drowned out by turbo/engine, can hear it usually at idle but sounds at it's worst taking off. It's probably made worse that my exhaust is really quiet lol * I can hear it making the noise while driving, but when I put the clutch in it goes away. * I haven't tried putting it in neutral while still rolling so I'm not sure if it would make the noise if I did this or not. * Occasionally it randomly goes away briefly (like I mentioned with the idle too) but it's pretty much happening all the time now Any ideas??? Cheers Nathan
