Always rumours that even though it's 98 its still going to be different to BP 98, which is what most cars (with a/m computers) are tuned to in WA. Also, always rumours of people filling up with caltex 98 & getting a knock reading every now and then. Then, always rumous of people filling up with caltex 98 & not having any sort of change at all.

Considering the dyno day isn't on Wednesday night I don't see why you have to decide? Go to the drags, see what time's your getting, then on Sunday you will know how much power you have for those times & in the future can see the improvements.

Where's the car located & how will it be moved?

Car will be going to the guys at Tenagah next Wednesday to get the fuel pressure & boost put back up, so I'm gonna know what to expect on the 24th Was going to be done today at another place but they screwed up with the booking time, so it means now I can't make it to high tech this weekend

I asked one of the inspectors about that & he got me to put the car in an open space away from everything, revved up to 4000rpm & he measured it with the *insert whatever it's called here* Then when the engineer came to inspect my car did the same thing at my house & took it out the front to do it, only difference this was from cold start so it was harder to get a regular reading because I couldn't get the revs to stick. The thing about the surroundings is if you were doing it somewhere with other noise, then that also has to be measured as that could affect it, so if it's done somewhere with no noise it's calibrated to zero & won't give a false reading.

I have a reasonable budget to work with (cash & a 6k credit card I haven't really used, and would prefer not to), but I'm a bit undecided at the moment on what to actually do. For the last 5 months I've had a bodykit sitting at home doing nothing because about a week after I got it, I got a yellow sticker I've only just managed to get off. Otherwise about 4 months ago I would have already had this on... Work to the car to get it cleared is a touch on the expensive side (lets just say the 2 following options would have been done by now, but realistically all I can do is 1 for now), but I'm looking for other opinions on what you might do in the same situation. a) I have a bomex front bar & side skirts, as well as some gtr rear pods that would cost about $1300 roughly to fit & paint. That would take my car from looking plain (sleeper if it wasn't for the front bar stickers) to a more "respectable" look. My current, shit, series 1 bumper has a lot of stone chips & is very scraped on the bottom of the bumper (bad experience with a driveway/mountain in Qld), and really detracts from what's behind it. Got no side skirts on the car or anything either. b) I am running a very decent amount of power with stock injectors & cams, so if I replaced those with some aftermarket gear I'd be looking at more power, but also won't be stretching the limits of the car. With this I would probably be looking at some splitfires as well which would add to the cost, prob about 2k for all of it to be done. c) Maybe don't spend it on the car, but if I don't, what? Buying a house just won't be happening at the moment (but regardless of what I do, my promotion I'm looking at in the next 6 months or so would mean I would then be able to look at doing that with another person or two) Don't really have much apart from the car so ideas are limited!
