  1. Car was all engineered & given the ok, a bit of drama at the pits over the compressor surge but I won in the end, permits for pod, catch can, front mount & turbo. Says with my details other things like fuel pump & pressure regulator, boost gauge & exhaust aren't required to be added to the permit. With the exhaust part it says it's not required to be added because at the time of testing it was 86db @ 4000rpm, so I'll even have that to show if I get pulled over. Not that I'd get pulled over for the exhaust because those who know my car knows just how quiet it is (exhaust-wise...) Took it over with a few factory things to make it easier but what's gone back on there's nothing wrong with it like the rims, only the bov which ideally I'd like to change.
  2. Well, there's no-body else here, I must be talking to you. I'm not gone, I came back too! So there's no need to miss me ps Perth > Sunshine Coast
  3. I once said I only need a car to get from A to B. I once said I'd get an import but wouldn't do much to it because of the cost of insurance. I once said I'd be happy with 300hp at the wheels tops. Lie to yourself, man.
  4. Haha I got the sticker off last Friday, about 6 inspections & 5 months ftl!! Shmiddy somehow got very lucky, now this time don't let the rego run out
  5. As long as it's secured it will be fine, if it's not too loud.
  6. Just wait it out mate, if your going to get it done, get it done properly
  7. I thought you moved to Sydney? Or you come back to Perth like when I moved to Queensland for about 2 months
  8. f**king lol ps that's my brother's SS, not an unmarked
  9. Pfft, weak effort
  10. +1 for me please Should have my car back to normal by then.
  11. Women. kthnxbaicya
  12. I wouldn't be trying for too much more than that out of a standard? 25. There are some that can reach the high 300's & maybe a bit over, but it is risky & it depends how it's driven.
  13. Yeah I got 3 3-week extensions from Welshpool & Midland, and a 4 week extension from O'Connor. They are inconsistent as f**k in regards to everything that they do.
  14. Got the yellow, had an inspection with a list of things to be fixed up & that included getting permits (mostly due to the turbo). Applied, 3 weeks later get a letter saying application is rejected. So I had to re-apply, 4 weeks later I got a pre-approval letter. (another couple of weeks in between this while I got the car sorted with changing some things over) Got all the stuff done for engineering & then was being told the emissions test I had done weren't what they required & they left it up to me to find out what was. This was just before xmas & new years where everyone is on holidays, so I lost a couple of weeks there. Then I find out from a guy at vehicle safety that what I have is correct for the emissions report, so I lost 2-3 weeks when I could have handed it all in. That went in the week just gone so will hopefully hear back in a couple of weeks time depending on what sort of backlog they have at the moment. Then I can take it over for permits & be done with it. Oh and for the last few months my car has been de-tuned to 50% power so it's not even fun to drive
  15. Yes, pay just over $80 the first time, then just over $50 each time after that. I got my yellow mid-august & have had 5 inspections in total. I would much rather have been able to use that $300 for something else. Oh, and then end up like me on the 22nd as I'm on my final extension, after which it will be illegal to drive my car on the road. Apparently I wasn't even meant to be given this one, so if you want to a rebel & have a sticker on for 4 inspections over a few months instead of just clearing it go for it.
  16. Um, ok then. But you would of course get whatever you needed to fixed before they sent out a demand notice for the license plates & the car becomes unregistered, right?
  17. And in breaking news....lol Spoke to a guy at the vehicle safety branch (who turns out used to be the guy in charge), and after discussing about that he told me what I already have will be fine!!! What I have still shows compliance with the ADR & it seems I was just given a screw around by them for no reason, as I could have had this handed in 2-3 weeks ago. I spoke to him, he spoke to my engineer, called me back & let me know it was all fine. Then I spoke to my engineer who is signing my report off tonight & giving it to me tomorrow I really hope this will be the end of it now.
  18. The test that you got done, over here in Perth there is only one known place that can do it. They deal with businesses & not one-off people like I need, and even if they did apparently it will cost thousands. Considering that avenue is unlikely, they want a 4-gas analysis with my results & a standard emissions result from a factory R33 like mine to gauge the results against. Like I said the only legal ones are under the bonnet, but they still want the other 2 despite them not being part of the law. All this test will prove anyway is that my car still complies with ADR 37. I already have results that show I comply with ADR 37.
  19. After visiting the tech section, instead of coming home like now, I probably should have gone & bought an industrial size barrel of high grade lubricant, because all there is going to be is rampant arse raping. Was told that I have to do the whole LT3 thing, which is the IM240 test. Funny thing that, because I was told there is only one place in Perth that can do it. And they don't do people off the street, instead dealing with fleet vehicles etc. And even if they did, it would cost about $4000. Option B was to find the original manufacturers emissions specifications. The HC & CO2 can be found under the bonnet, no problems. The other 2, well they don't seem to exist. Even went to Nissan & they had no idea, or any idea about how to go & find them. So then, how the hell am I meant to get this passed & cleared by the pits without putting myself into debt for a worthless reason or finding a needle in a haystack?
  20. Ah ok.... Cheers for the help mate! I'm actually about to go see them now to clarify it (need to go order custom plates as well ), but yeah I think those 3 that apply to ADR 37 is all they need then. After a bit more research I think the other 2 gases come down to correct engine operation, not any specific limits. At least that's what I gather from here ---> http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=345028 Any other dramas I'll let you know & maybe you could help out again Luke I see you lurking I'll let you know later on today as well, and should be able to get yours tested as well at the same place as mine
  21. Found this one, which has the limits I also found. Thats where it's confusing though, as where does the O2 & CO2 come into play?? With the above it's fine & I can hand it in, but without any guidelines as to why the others are needed I'm confused as hell. The DPI (rta in NSW) won't tell me much other than I need to provide the info with it that it remains legal As far as I'm concerned I should be able to hand in a report with the HC, CO & NOX all within those figures with a printout of this table : http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/env...t/emission.aspx Just wanting to know what the other gasses are for is confusing.
  22. Yeah sorry about that it's a 95, same as yours. I did read the whole thread looking for the limits, maybe I missed them??
  23. HELP REQUIRED!!! Due to a defect notice on my car & with the mods I've got I've needed to do an emissions test, BUT.... WHAT ARE THE GASEOUS LIMITS & HOW CAN I GET THEM IN WRITING!! Need them for Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Oxygen (O2) & Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Apart from finding Hydrocarbons to be .93 & CO to be 9.3 I'm having no luck to find the limits for oxygen or carbon dioxide. The test was originally intended for just the 2 I already have, but all 4 were tested so all could be good enough to hand in with my engineers report, but also need the proof it complies with the other 2 as well. If anyone can help me out with this that would be great, as I've already lost a couple of weeks over xmas & new years (workshop holidays) in which time I could have had this handed in already. Only got until the 22nd to drive my car so looking to get it done asap so I can hand it in (ie next couple of days) Cheers, Nathan
  24. Not sure about "no longer", but at the moment they are definately making them harder to get. Got my yellow mid August & it's still on there...
