Thanks for the replies, sort of what I was expecting I'm going to try & get it to the tuning workshop which could be open, in which case bigger injectors will just go in now instead of screwing around. Either way it's going to leave me without a car so I hope it can get done quickly if they can take it.

OK, on start up I get a rough idle (1500rpm down to 1000 & back up again) that settles eventually, the car is blowing a bit of black smoke (no cat but never this much) & since yesterday there has been a strange clicking from an unidentified engine bay location. Since Wednesday I have been able to smell fuel inside the car, so I'm wondering if there is a leak somewhere, where does it end up?? My car is still getting the same economy, but it's just missing at certain points in each gear still. The alarm is working again as normal now which is weird It sounds like a leaky injector, but whats the risk apart from starting a fire if I kept driving it? I'm only asking because the workshop I use is closed until the 8th of January, when the car will be going in to get all of this shit sorted out. To sort the backfiring tomorrow I am going to check the coilpacks for fractures & tape them up, but now this smell of fuel has me worried because the injectors are stock. Big power & boost & stock injectors = not good. FYI I'm not going crazy on it until I get some bigger injectors because if it was an injector that caused my rb25 to go in the first place at 350rwhp I don't want it happening to a 7k engine...

When I was driving my pos no-one ever moved, but once you have the intercooler on full show they move rather quickly no matter what speed your going On metro roads it may or may not be from the sound of spool that gets them going ^_^

We got back to Perth at about 3am last night, Ceduna to Perth in one day, about 20hrs & 2000km's worth, f**k that was a long drive. 4500km's in 3 1/2 days, eyeballed in every town we passed through, and got our photos taken by a group of young girls screaming "oh my god!" at us in SA I'll upload a few photos later, even got one of a bird shayde owned & got stuck in his front bar before Port Augusta. Bird maiming count was 1-1, but mine hit the windscreen and was down for a probable 10-count, but this was an instant knock out

You could turbo the engine but like you said it's already had a hard life & it would probably get pushed over the edge, so then it's either a rebuild or new engine. If finance isn't a problem & you are prepared for a tough project then go for it, but here's a left of centre idea: With a similar amount with what a conversion like this will cost, buy a ready-made Japanese import that is made & balanced for what you are after?? My Idea.............................Centre......................................... .....Right

My car will be leaving Perth in the next few days, its being handled through my import broker so I'm not sure exactly when it leaves or arrives, he said a week but to allow 10 days so this might be cutting it a bit fine depending on when the train goes..... If i do have it I will be trying to get it off to join in as I said earlier, otherwise it will have to be another time.
