  1. Chris Rock summed it up best, they should call it "In case shit". I can understand the side of not wanting to pay such high prices, but "in case shit happens", I don't want to be caught out of it paying for an empty spot in my driveway, paying for someone elses car because I was irresponsible or paying money off for 10 years with nothing to show for it..... As for the other topic brought up anyone with no insurance at all should be belted across the face with a large trout.
  2. From what I was quoted: 3k - 2nd hand rb25, engine in & out 4k-4.5k - Rebuilt rb25 with standard pistons with existing block 7k-8k - Fully rebuilt rb25 with forgies etc, but I might be getting rods for free if my block can still be used This figures are off the top of my head though, cant remember specifics
  3. What he has said is true, if you can't afford the insurance you can't afford the car. There is no excuse mate.
  4. Does anyone know cost wise, how similar would it be for rebuilding an rb25 as compared to an rb30 conversion?? There is a chance my block won't be able to be used for a rebuild, so a conversion is a possibility for me now.
  5. zomg bbq pwn3d ya rly There's no fixing that, look at the way the strut brace is going for a start! Be glad you are both ok, that looks very nasty.
  6. I think custom plates needs to be your next car purchase Tom. 9 letter slimline polycarb, HMASTOPAZ
  7. Had a guy in an xr6 on a test drive try to get me going, he's unlucky my engine & oil temps were still low otherwise I could have probably saved him the trouble of buying a HMAS Ford. I've found it to be SS Utes myself.
  8. Sorry for the off topic but my 21st is at the end of October actually, made me realise how close it actually is. Sooooo auulllllddd..........
  9. Wet roads bring out the wheelspinning heroes, and is just generally not a good time to run a cruise, because if someone goes beyond their limits it's got bad news written all over it. The next sauwa event is the driving day, maybe a cruise in October would work out????
  10. Tom is now driving a boat. Well, more like a tanker. Exxon ftw??
  11. Congrats, very nice! Does that mean NIZMO has been sold?? Has Paul's car ever been on the road??
  12. Turvo's are much better than turbo's in case you were wondering.
  13. My exhaust is unusually quiet, most cars are louder than mine. I love it that way, because you can hear the turvo spool up a lot more and it's nice & loud Dave I can understand why you don't want the drone because like me you probably hate it, but with the less flow less power thing, obviously if your doing 50-70 you don't need power??
  14. That's gotta suck, as soon as my car is back & engine bedded in it's going straight to the pits or I'm f**ked!!
  15. Single pegger?

  17. One is deffo going to be "MOTEC SYSTEM EXHAUST".
  18. Another one for ya, pm Shayde from here, he has a mate that can get them done up too. I might have to get another 1 or 2 for the rear windscreen so I can get more km to a tank of fuel. I'll be looking into that soon.
  19. I reckon it's the HKS sticker that gives the most, I went the single conversion instead of twin stickers but it still put my engine over the top....
  20. I read an article on this last night as I will be running one in soon as well. The concept is to allow all the surfaces that will be rubbing each other to match eachother so they can cope throught he whole temperature range. So yes this does mean it's a good idea to drive like a sissy from the start. Throughout the process (2000km your mechanic said, but 1000 really should be tops these days), you gradually drive harder & harder. They should also be setting the rev limiter to about 4000rpm for you as well. OK I am hungover today & I know I can word it better than I have but hopefully it makes some sense. Nismoid you are very brave to leave the workshop on gate.
  21. My hp sticker list*: 2x GReddy stickers on front bar to help brake cooling 2x Rays Engineering stickers on front bar to optimize air fuel ratios 4x Import101 stickers (front & rear windscreen, 2 quarter windows) to spool the turbo faster in the lower rev range 2x SAUWA stickers on the quarter windows to provide additional downforce at speed 2x skylinesaustralia.com stickers on the rear spoiler to provide better traction in wet conditions oh and 1x HKS sticker to cool the air entering the engine a further 10% *these may or may not entirely help car performance
  22. Darwin award spec.
  23. When you beat this evo did you do a skid ulleh
  24. Manual, sunroof, reasonable km's, basic mods like suspension & rims. Winner. Everything else I have had done to it. Still stock like. What? Tom has a gtr?
