  1. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=88679 I remembered this thread, don't know what's going on with them but no harm in asking is there??!!
  2. Hahaha, why bother????? Ever see those plates & he is going to get some shit.
  3. Just have to throw this in the mix: Wallaby great's tragedy prompts 4WD call Sunday Oct 23 19:04 AEST The car accident that left the daughter of former Wallaby skipper Phil Kearns with life-threatening injuries has reignited demands for upgraded safety on four-wheel drives. Nineteen-month-old Andie Kearns remains on a respirator in a critical but stable condition in The Children's Hospital, Randwick, after she was accidentally run over by her father in the driveway of the family home on Saturday. Kearns had been reversing his Volkswagen Touareg four-wheel drive at the Mosman house on Sydney's north shore when the accident happened. In a statement released to the Nine Network, Kearns said Andie was doing better than had been hoped and thanked the public for their support. My wife and I are overwhelmed. It has been just amazing," Kearns said. "(Andie) is holding up really well. She had a good 24 hours and is much better than she was yesterday." Pedestrian Council of Australia (PCA) chairman Harold Scruby said the federal government should make it compulsory for four-wheel drives to have reversing cameras fitted. "People buy them (4WDs) thinking they're safe, but they simply are not," Mr Scruby said. "They're extremely dangerous, lethal even, and you can't see little children below the guard." He said 30 Australian toddlers died each year in driveway accidents, with a further 300 injured. More than two-thirds of the accidents involve four-wheel drives. "Without these vehicles, this wouldn't be such a problem," he said. Mr Scruby, who lives two doors from the Kearns family, said the latest incident was a tragedy but a timely reminder. "No one's blaming Phil Kearns," he said. "We're simply saying, for God's sake, don't buy these ridiculous tanks." He called on the federal government to pass a law requiring all four-wheel drives to be fitted with better technology including reversing cameras. The cameras, currently fitted in Lexus cars, screen footage from the rear bumper in the rear-vision mirror when the vehicle is in reverse. Mr Scruby said rear-bumper sensors were not sensitive enough to "pick up" small children and the reverse-beeping mechanism was relatively ineffective with toddlers. He also called on the Commonwealth to immediately increase the tariff on the vehicles, above the current five per cent. "We welcome anything to discourage people from buying these things," Mr Scruby said. A spokeswoman for The Children's Hospital said Andie Kearns was being looked after by a team of paediatric intensive-care specialists, surgeons, an anaesthetist and laboratory and imaging staff. "The minute-to-minute care that she's getting is being delivered by highly specialised nursing staff," she said. "That's in addition to the fact that her parents are spending an awful lot of time at the hospital." The little girl suffered mainly abdominal injuries when she was struck. She is the youngest child of the former Wallabies hooker and his wife Julie. The couple have three other children - Wilson, Finn and Matilda. Kearns was named in the Wallabies Team of the Decade in August, and is Australia's most-capped hooker, playing 67 tests - 10 as captain - between 1989 and 1999. He also played in both the 1991 and 1999 World Cup-winning sides. Prime Minister John Howard said the Kearns family was in everyone's thoughts and prayers. "I think all Australians, parents in particular, we feel for Phil and his wife and just hope and pray that the little girl recovers," Mr Howard told reporters in Sydney. "We send our good wishes and thoughts and our prayers," he said. New South Wales Waratahs coach Ewan McKenzie has sent his best wishes to the Kearns family. "Obviously wishing them all the best and hopefully everything will pan out all right and there's a speedy recovery," McKenzie told ABC radio.
  4. I feel sorry for you Warren, too many threads I have read recently were either: a) My car has just been keyed!! B) My car has just been badged!! Makes me as paranoid as f**k now when it's parked anywhere but my house. Where did it happen??? If someone is stupid enough to do it you would hope someone would see them & catch them/beat seven shades of shit out of them for you. VIGILANTE IS THE ONLY WAY.
  5. I thoroughly recommend Imports101, and even though I didn't go through them I checked out a couple of their cars, and as mentioned, Autoworx.
  6. I feel for you dude, that really sucks, & I agree with what's been said about our protecting the streets cops over here. Now someone tell me how hard this will be to get going, or actually find out about: Have a database that has every detail about the car available to police. Search for suziki vitara's, and it will bring up a list of all of them. At first narrow it down to the closest to the incident, in this case northern suburbs. You have the beginning of the plate being 1C, not many will have that, and in this case should make it relatively easy. Pay a visit to the owners of these cars & see what's happening. Vote for me for police commish okay everyone???
  7. lol, just got flashbacks hahaha, that game was sweet!!!! My fav games from ps1 are Resident Evil, Tenchu, Tony Hawk, GTA, Gran Turismo & Syphon Filter. Resident Evil is the best game ever made in my opinion, for what they had to work with & they made such a good game. The part where you return to the mansion & there is one of those monsters who jumps out at you around the corner still gets me every time. Now I just blow it's head of with the shotgun haha Anyone play Hitchin' on one of the old school systems?? I think it was sega megadrive????? Can't remember the name, but it was a good game. You were on roller blades & would be on the freeway on the back of cars, & then slingshot your way past onto another one, the kind of car got you points. You could get onto cop cars too, just had to duck down so they didn't see you.
  8. Was heading down the freeway this morning, a cayenne turbo pulled in front of me, you can't see jack shit past one of them, another blocking of your view you have to put up with.
  9. Whoa son, don't be hatin on a playa, my game's tight y'all. To interpret my first response, if it's ticked or not, does it make a difference to what you are looking for???? Like, what the hell are the child forums?? Keep it real yo, peace out.
  10. I have heard it's the Spec-C WRX that is the quickest, I bought one, just haven't modded it up yet to see how it goes.
  11. Well that's good news then, but people who drink & drive deserve the shit they will get.
  12. As above definately contact the major insurance companies, being a vitara it would be an idea to focus on the likes of sgio, hbf & that sort of thing, not just cars/shannons. That really sucks dude, I know how you feel with witnesses/and or no-one stopping to see what's going on.
  13. Depends on the trade to be honest, I'm a chef (pastry), and there are are different kinds of ages. It also depends on the employer too, because at a certain age I can't remember though, you get paid the minimum adult wage, which I think is more than both 1st & 2nd year wage. There is no harm in applying because you could get lucky, but most apprentices are young.
  14. ^^^^ What he said. Hopefully there was nothing taken or damaged, but I guess you would have been told if there was something major. How far is Mt Pleasant away from where it was stolen???? It might have been stolen to strip but they chickened out. As miller said my keys are in my room, anyone is welcome to come & get them. I also keep a half of a pool cue there as well, hint hint. Vigilante is the only way to go with pricks like this.
  15. Fastest 1/4 mile is in the 9.2 or 9.3 region in my R34 N1 Vspec, the white one with black bonnet. Fastest speed is 412kmh in my 857hp Toyota Supra. I'm sure I can get better than these, too busy drifting around Monaco with the HKS silvia.
  16. Yo yo yo check it, wassup y'all??!! Yeah, fo sho. To answer yo quizzle, I be confizzled, does it matter waz happenin my nizzle??
  17. Just taking an absolute stab in the dark because I don't have one of these (but will be getting one), but is it something for the hand controller????? Just that if it is a boost controller I would imagine it to be adjusted with that. Hopefully someone can help you properly though.
  18. Sorry to hear that, I can bet if she does end up safe you will be getting insurance, but seriously no insurance, especially on a 30k car, is not good. What suburb????
  19. The government wouldn't be happy with that though, having publicised nights dedicated to this sort of thing. It would mean less cars to impound, and less stories for the news about all those young hoons in high performance cars. Today Tonight will be feeding on scraps.
  20. I agree with what Mitchy posted, they think by tailgaiting you there are intimidating you, I just slow down & let them move around. If I'm on the freeway & they change lanes I just happen to accidently accelerate as they do. And as said earlier in the thread when you are at a stop/give way sign you can't see at all. There is nothing you can do if you are there first, but if there is going to be a 4wd blocking the view I just stop a few metres back from the line & go from there.
  21. lol, hahahaha, pmsl, roflmao, etc etc
  22. Just buy some Mi Goreng, you can live on that for weeks if its THAT bad, and won't cost much at all.
  23. Speaking of bad drivers, this morning some numbnut towing a in a ford towing a trailer dosen't even know you give way to the right at roundabouts, if it wasn't for turbo sized brakes I would have hit him. Could not believe it when it happened. I came up to the roundabout, saw a few cars on my left slowing down for it, looked right, saw no one was coming so kept going through, when I was just at the beginning of the turn I noticed this twat hadn't even seen me, or bothered to slow down all that much, so I braked hard, and there couldn't have been much gap between my front bar & his trailer. To make matters worse, this is the roundabout on Gnangara Rd, which has 2 lanes, one to turn right & one to go straight. He was in the left, and then decided he had to go right. All I could think about was this thread, some people are just bad drivers, full stop. Part of me wanted to follow him, stop him & tell him how many things he did wrong, not bad for a 19 year old when this guy was about 50. <does happy dance>
  24. Okay here's my story........ I am 19 (20 on the 25th), a third year apprentice, I have a stockish 95 Skyline gts-t. I have $1500 in my bank account right now. I have a car I am getting ready to sell for $4000. My brother also owes me $2500 that I will be getting back soon because he's selling his kick-ass stereo system. I could take this, but the RB25 is enough music for me. That makes a running total of $8000 that I pretty much have available to me. In 4 weeks I will be turning 4th year, meaning an extra couple of hundred in my pay. I have had 4 weeks off in 3 years, and didn't really have a break from school. I worked it out today that I have $4500 in holiday pay, so whatever I don't use when I finish in November next year will be paid out to me. Now with that 8k+, it could be quite easy for me to pay a fair bit off the car or look into getting a house, but I want to travel around with my work so I won't be doing that. In January I am taking 3 or 4 weeks off, heading up to Broome for a holiday, and my car is going into a workshop for around 5k worth of work, regardless of if I sell my car or not, which shows you how well I can save money. BTW, working on weekends makes most of this possible. Some will see this as a waste, but I don't because with my situation & plan I am fine with this. The way I can see it is if you can't afford it don't do it. I have never been in debt, and I hope I am never under financial pressure. My long term plan/goal/dream is to finish my apprenticeship, either stay in Perth or head east for about a year, then I am off overseas for as long as possible. Wherever my car can come with me, I'm pretty sure Canada is okay with Skylines, that would be first choice. That is from November next year. And I think being 21, a qualified tradesman, having a car in excess of 300rwhp & still having money to play with is pretty damn good. Damn I need a drink now after that lol
  25. I was here thinking 216hp?? That all? Damn the kilowatt. Almost 290hp at the wheels with a stock turbo is very good mate, this is the sort of thread I was looking for as my car will have pretty much the same mods come January. Only have a cat back exhaust at the moment, finishing it off in a few weeks. Then the fun begins when I'm on holidays - ECU, injectors, fuel pump, cams & boost set-up. Maybe a turbo upgrade too, then a new clutch after that's gone. You should be happy with that result???
