I went for a search around Mindarie/Clarkson at about 12 today, hoping to find it dumped somewhere but no luck. I looked through some shopping centre carparks (Ocean Keys was one), because quite often cars are dumped where they are harder to spot. IMO what has happened is that someone has seen you driving home, planned what they are going to do & done it. Probably taken straight to someones backyard or a workshop for stripping, but for your sake I hope it turns up safe. To make matters worse the little prick that has done this will probably be reading all this. Did they drive off, or roll it out of your house, because I though the sound off the car or opening of the gate (judging by what you posted) would have woken you up. I'm off again tommorrow, so will keep my eyes peeled again, today my head was swivelling at every burgunduy coloured car on the roads. Best of luck dude.

He's got 172 pics in his gallery & so far I have found 1 decent pic of his car............ It's only a pic of his front bar though. The second is a banner, it's small though. Hopefully these work!!!!!! I have the day off & am about to head over to Joondalup, might take another 15mins & drive around the Clarkson area for a bit & try to help out.

Think of it this way, people on internet forums don't have faces, SAUWA members do. Most of this argument seems to be about the forums, in most of the forums I use there are one or two bad eggs, just ignore them.
-
I do understand your point considering the age of members, but there was about 3 or 4 that had the same point, so I needed to reply. The point I am making is just try distinguish between the ones like that & the others. We aren't all bad. Also, it will be a '95, on the road in a couple of weeks, customs will be over it in a couple of days I believe. A couple of pics I have tried to attach, but they are a bit too big.

Ok, I have read this thread, and feel right now like I have to defend myself, so here are a few points I would like to make. As far as the forums go, these are a blessing for faceless cowards who on the street wouldn't dare say some the things that get posted in places like this. The term used for this is "internet snipers", but thankfully there aren't many on here. Secondly, I feel as I have been written off already as I am only 19, and am importing my own car. But I ask you this, you many of you have actually met me??? None. Zero. Surely paid members of SAUWA need to met each other before opinions are formed about them. Once I have my car I will be attending cruises when possible, meeting other enthusiasts & generally trying to have a good time. Thirdly, as far as questions go, this is because people are only trying to learn. I have asked a couple since I have been on here, and they have been answered with no problems. I think this part of the topic is aimed at those people who have seen the fast & the furious & just want a car like those, without knowing anything about them. Some will be like that, but then again some won't. I chose to import a Skyline because it offered the best all-round package for what I need it for. Mostly for a very reliable engine, smooth styling, good safety & best all round performance. I am learning more & more about them, and I haven't even got it yet. From my circle of mates, I am going to be the only one with a Skyline, and just a few I know with imports. I look forward to meeting other people with these sort of cars. I am not a "hoon" on the roads, and I respect them for what they are, a machine that helps out people so much, but will kill your dumb arse if you act like an idiot in one. So basically as far as the forums go, people will sometimes post things in the inappropriate forum, or not look in the tech section for a question that would have been asked a few times already. This is where someone can redirect that person to where they can find the answer, without the thread turning into bullcrap. I asked a few questions to Liz, and she was very kind & answered them with no problem, so right there I already know what sort of person she is & because of that she has my respect. As far as members of sauwa goes, surely these people must get to know each other a bit & have a chance to prove themselves, not just be written off without even knowing who they are. Hopefully for the senior members of this now, they would want sauwa to be around for a very long time yet, but obviously younger people with a true affection for Skyline's need to come through the ranks for this to happen. Just give us a chance, that's all I am saying. End rant.

Hmm, god point................Like I said good luck with them. Chances are the car will be found dumped somewhere, because to me this just seems like a crime of opportunity for whoever stole it. I thought about this in the afternoon, some things to look out for about the car if it has been stripped: The hks sqv is bolt on, so unless these people have someone to sell it to look out for a "hks sqv bov, near new condition!!" advertised in the quokka. Also anything else of value that can be taken off the car. If the car had rims, also look out for these. If your friend imported the car & registered it, or the person he bought it off did, try and get hold of the tire serial number. I believe these are written down when it is registered, but that could only be for the stock 16" rims, and if they are another size then maybe not. If that helps, then you can arrange to meet this person to inspect the rims (as they would most likely be sold with the tires in this situation), and if the number matches, enter the police. Booyeah, caught red handed. Would go a long way to getting the car back.
-
Well, all I can say is, err, ouch. I am getting a turbo timer fitted the first day I get my car!!! That will teach him for smoking. (sorry, got to find humour in this somewhere)
-
1 - I certainly hope that was insured. 2 - Was it caught on camera????? 3 - How was it stolen??? Hopefully your mate won't get any crap from the insurance company after only having it for a month. Can't promise anything, but will be on the lookout anyway.
-
Ok, posts for cruises are few & far between on here, but................... any idea when the next sauwa cruise will be?????? Will have my car in the next couple of weeks & will deffo go to the next one (even if it is a while away), but even any other open cruises for meeting people, checking out their cars etc etc. Cheers.

Damn near had an accident on the f/way on the way home from work today, in the right lane behind some dumb bitch in the right lane doing 90kmh. I was keeping my distance as always anyway, instead of being a wanker that tailgates when I noticed she started slowing down even more, I went onto the brakes at the same times as her, and then she indicates to go into the right hand emergency lane. She does that, but for some reason I will never know this genius decided to pull 1/2way back into the right hand lane. She was getting off because there was another car there that they knew & were stopping to help, and I think this why she moved halfway back into the lane, to miss their car. Anyway, she comes across just as I am about to pass. I knew there was another car in the left lane (2 lanes, in between Hepburn & Whitfords aves) so I had to leave it as late as possible to swerve. Considering we are talking about less than a second, I was pretty lucky to get out of it without hitting either of them. I am thankful that I don't have my 'line yet, or I would have been mega pissed off instead of just really pissed off at her. If I had of hit her, in no way would it have been my fault, but I think the law would have protected the dumbass driver, with the whole "you drove from behind" thing. DRIVERS WHO AREN'T AWARE OF THEIR SURROUNDINGS PISS ME OFF!!!!!!!!

Ditto, pretty much the same. I can handle most rap, but won't rush out to buy it. Xzibit is the only difference, he has the unique voice for it. Absolutely HATE RnB, that music is aimed at chicks anyway. I like music with a lot of different lines, not the same chorus over and over that when it is recorded, the "artist" needs one good delivery & they have 80% of the song done. Heavy metal is ok in parts, but I like to actually hear what they are singing.
-
Oh yeah, what are some of your opinions about front mounts???? Some people say that paying more for the recognized brands or Japanese brands (ape int., trust, HKS etc), dosen't really give you any advantage over some of the kinds you can pick up over here. I just don't want to pay over the odds when I get one, what sort of prices will I be looking at for a fmic?? (buying, piping, fitted etc) Any advice would be tops, .
-
How much would a safc cost???????? Am looking at getting this & a fmic once I have sold my car I have now. Should have my 'line within 3 weeks max.

I prefer punk rock, fav band is Millencolin, but also listen to 28 Days, Bodyjar, The Living End & Good Charlotte the most. Also loved Drowning Pool, but the lead singer died on the Ozzfest tour a few years ago & the new singer just dosen't have the same impact. Still good music though. A bit of bass-heavy rap is good too, Xzibit is awesome.

You can join now if you want, I am pretty sure it's an enthusiast club, not an owners car club.

A guy at work had a road rage attack last Monday. His gf was driving his calais down Scarbrough Beach rd, and all of a sudden a commondore came rushing up behind them honking & flashing his lights at them. He then decided to overtake them on the WRONG side of the road, forcing another car to swerve. He pulled in front of them at the lights they were turning at, and straight away got out of his car with a 2ft crowbar, and instantly smashed their windscreen & took to the b-pillar. He was yelling some shit about "Why the fk are you driving like that, I've got a 9 month old baby in the back" (but it was ok to drive on the opposite side of the road), and generally being a **** about it. The thing was, she did NOTHING wrong, and this guy just goes nuts with a deadly weapon. They must be thankful windscreens don't completely smash from something like that, but even at the red light there was 10-15 cars that didn't even bother to be a witness to it, but insurance covered it. The fact there are idiots out there like this is pretty scary.

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?
ossie_21 replied to two40's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I gave Robin @ Famous a call this morning, she said she can't get me signed up right now but when I said I would need it (about 3-4weeks away) she said there wouldn't be a problem. I called unique but they don't do under 21's, and when I told her about this she was sort of suprised. Because I don't have the car yet for a quote, she said she could put me in the ballpark. I said what car etc, and she said probably around 3k. She asked if I had any other quotes, and I told her my quote from JCI ($2,600). She then said, "give me a call when you have it & I'll see if we can beat that." Obviously they try to get the most they can, but I am just looking for the best cover ie if some numbnuts is a commondore hits me I want to choose where it's fixed, not them. She also said for monthly payments (which would be so much better) it is about an extra 10% over a year, but even if it costs me an few extra hundred it might be better off than one lump sum to Just Cars. If anyone can give me contact numbers of insurance agencies that insure U-21's with modified turbos let me know. Cheers. I have already tried Just Cars, Famous & Unique Car. -
Go here -----> http://www.big-boys.com/articles/dangerousdriver.html I think this is from one of the Getaway in Stockholm movies, but I am not sure. These drivers have balls, and very quick cars.

Dude, that sucks for your mate & his bro. Hope you don't mind me asking, but what was he doing that made him nearly cut his fingers off at 12am????? Anyway, the cops will always be pricks like that, technically they should of put him (mate's brother) into their car & taken him themselves, if it was really bad. Probably didn't do that though did they???? I can't stand that Robert's bitch, if she told me the sky was blue I would go outside & check.

I think the whole key to this is whether or not the structural integrity has been affected. As with what I was told, the repair was only minor, but because Imports101 is importing the car & complying it, they would not bring it in if it could not be accepted to Australian standards. I have read the dotars file (cheers driftt btw), and don't see a problem transpiring from all of this. It seems to have been worked up a fair bit in this forum, but there is a guarantee involved with all of this too. I am happy with what I have been told, but I have a feeling there won't be a problem bringing it in, as it will only hurt their reputation. http://www.imports101.com.au/about_us.php?page=3
-
There is no structural damage, & I am happy with what Danny told me. IF it is worse than expected, the seller in Japan will be held responsible, as they are aware of our regulations & know where the car is going. Even then Imports101 would probably take responsibility for it, because any legal action arising from this would only give them, but most likely the seller a lot of shit. I am certain he isn't being dishonest with me, and I believe the repair was only minor damage. I can just remember him telling me there was accident repair, but this was about 2 weeks before I even bought this one. I don't see anything coming out of this anyway, but if something happens I am third in line so if it is rejected I can't be held responsible.
-
Okay, spoke to Danny and there won't be a problem with the car. It is only minor damage (probably sounds worse mentioning the inners/rad support), but the reason it is not listed in the Imports101 description is because they are a RAWS approved workshop. If they were just a broker then they can say about the accident damage (like the other site), but they did know about it. He is certain he told me about it (due to the notes on their system), but I honestly can't remember it. There is no problem now though, the car is waiting to be shipped & I will still bring it in. It will pass the sevs because it was minor damage, so it is structually good still. All info was appreciated from Danny, and from the ppl on this forum. Cheers -
