  1. Hi all, I am planning to purchase a new head unit to replace my stock cd player in my R32 nissan skyline gts-t. I was just wondering how hard is it to install a aftermarket head unit on the r32? I have installed head units before on other cars but since this is an import i guess it may be a bit harder. Do you suggest i get it done professionally? If anyone has done it before can they help me out or maybe even take me throught the step by step process. Also are there any special equipment I need to purchase prior to installation? Ive read on the R33 installation it requires an adaptor, what is this for and why? Cheers
  2. Hi all SAU members, I recently purchased a 1989 R32 Gts-t. The car seems to be in great condition and is pretty much stock apart from a HKS pod filter and a 3inch exhaust. The one thing I have noticed is the car's initial drive....it has not torque. I understand that the RB20DET does lack torque in low revs but it cant be that flat. The reason why i am a bit concerned is that i have drive slower cars before such as lancers, etc and even little 4cyl like them produce adequate initial torque. When i am at the lights it feels like i have to rev the car to get a bit of zip from the line, not that i want to drag or anything. I have also seen on the site performance figures for a stock R32 gts-t and it claims at least a 0-100km : 7secs and 1/4 mile: 14.6 secs. I recently g-teched the car by my mates and got a 0-100: 9 secs and 1.4 mile: 15.6 secs. Apart from that the boost from the turbo seems to be fine because the car drives very well above 3revs. Im happy with the car, but being a skyline i was just expecting a bit more response from its initial throttle. Can anyone help me out or give me ideas on what may be the problem with my car or whether this is normal and common with all R32 RB20dets.
  3. Yeah i totally agree, the R32 makes up for its sportyness feel. Here in the NT we have no speed limits on the main highway and i pushed my R32 all the way and its got superb handling, all 4's stick to the road.
  4. ive never driven a R33 but it does seem it has more torque at the start than a R32. however once the R32 hits 3revs and over it lets u know its a skyline!!!
  5. Yeah i think....actually im sure i know who ur talkin about. It is a GTS-T not a GTR. He only bought the car recently and it came done-up. Its got a bigger turbo and intercooler and he'z running his boost around 13psi. well juz thought id fill in my share of info
  6. im no mechanic or anything, but i think i have experienced your problem before in my past skyline. the problem may have 2 do with your air filter. as my car had a pod filter i would let the engine idle and actually blow hard into the filter and the engine would start to idle rougly, the harder i blew it stalled. i understand that ur only mods are a turbo timer but maybe a sensor has been tampered, come lose or something. my 2 cents
  7. Hey guys im still waiting on my R32 I just bought, I was just wondering if it is easy to take the interior plastics off the dash because I am planning to respray them. If any of you's know how to could you please let me know? Cheers
