  2. hey mate i work at holden and i can vouch that the water pumps fit as i threw one in my ceff aswel..
  3. k... well thanks for the help... if any one else searches through 10 pages and has this problem... it was an earth wire disconnected from the wiring harness slightly behind the r/h headlight. cheers
  4. hey all... i searched through like 10 pages for something to relate my problem too but no luck basically when i turn on my lights when the engine is running in my car the lights go dim all the lights on the dash light up and then engine slowly dies after a splutter these probs usually mean the battery is ***d but when its running, its actually running good... soon as i turn the lights or indicators on BAM it starts to stall again there is a little orange box behind the r/h front strut tower that makes a noise when the lights are on and when you tap it the wipers come on sometimes cheers btw car is a 88 cefiro rb20det
  5. hey guys i have a friend with a RB20 powered 180sx, he car's engine is stock apart from the cooler and exhaust. its running an after market replacement "ems" stinger ecu what i need to know is will this wiring loom fit into my ceff? my engine has RB20 punched into the timing cover and his doesnt so i presume they are different motors, his is out of a skyline. we were thinking of swapping the entire loom and ecu into my car and then wiring his back up to standard computer with my old wiring harness does this sound like a head f#ck to anybody? we both have reasonable mechanical knowledge and the help of a few import guru's any comments appreciated thanks
  6. hey all.. search turned up dry i am currently losing coolant on my rb20, with a pressure test it reveals coolant trickeling out the bottom of the timing cover im geussing this would be the water pump seal so its time to rip it apart.... again! is the removal of timing cover fairly simple or does the CAS have to be removed to gain access? my search should of turned up with an answer for this but no luck so any help would be great.. also ive read that rb30 pumps fit so im guessing the gasket is gonna be the same? cheers guys
  7. hey all.. did a search didnt really help, got a set of GTR injectors and some ppl are telling me that the plugs on the wiring harness are different and require re-manufacturing to fit the injectors... in another search i found that these injectors bolt straight into the skyline RB and plugs match up no worries! so im like :sadam: and ANY help would be awesome cheers fellas
  8. hey all... sorry to re-kindle an old thread but any one that has done a T3 or other conversion how did u go with the oil lines for the turbo, like can use standard? my mate got one made up of a tephlon (spelling?) style pipe with braded coating cost him 100bux proly should be in the mech section but i only read this thread! :kick: cheers peeps!
  9. yer i used to pilot a SR 180.. cant beat the sound and kick of an sr but im quite content listening to my truck like RB at the mo... although an SR would give a lot less under steer wich is better for dori... tell u wat when i lunch my RB il gladly swap it for a black top sr or something---- dont really have the $ for a 26 i can hardly afford a big mac meal these days :headspin:
  10. i found it takes a little longer to pressurise the bigger front mount cooler but the affects are definately there, just takes a bit longer to hit full boost but when it does you can notice it. my opinion anywho. :kick:
  11. yer that thing drives me insane.. i also changed ecu's and it went away but guess what... its back! smallish black box you say?... that little f%#k is dead tomorrow!
  12. gnarly cheers for the feed back man i gotta get a t3 flange welded onto my manifold as the huffer is currently sporting a t4 pattern and modify the external gate situation to suit my normalair-garret waste gate... already got the cooler installed and its making reasonable horse power as is, but a little more couldnt hurt surely! know anywhere i can get sum GTR injectors for 250 quid?
  13. hey chaps.. i kno this has probably been covered before but would appreciate peoples opinions on the matter, i have a fairly standard RB20det with exhaust, pod, boost controller and front mount.... recently i purchased a T3 ball bearing turbo with external gate. I am not a complete moron but would like some advice or somebodies knowledge on how else to equipe the motor for somewhere around 300rwhp was thinking--- after market manifold fabricated to suit my gate a walbro fuel pump GTR or sard injectors sequential BOV re-mapped ecu or piggyback? i need sort of mid range power for drift so to me, this application sounds about right... if anybody has done a similar engine enhancement to this it would be greatly appreciated if they could point me in the right direction of how they went about it and the power outcome. thanks for your time
  14. the speedo could be out because you have different wheels than what came on it from factory.. there for i think you will need to re-calibrate it somehow or get a transformer to plug into the back of the cluster.
