Jamie and I are both picking up our cars today. The unpack is at 1.00pm and quarantine is at 3.00pm. I'm going to explode with excitement. Foznice: Im pretty sure it was the first boat available. Just an update. I am going to whatch the container with my car in it be 'unpacked' tomorrow at 1.00pm it is booked in for quarantine at 3.00pm. If it passes quarantine I will then be able to take her away. Hopefully there is no mud or sand in or on the car to make it require the steam clean. Let's just say I won't be able to sleep tonight!

I thought it would be good to detail the process (after the car lands) for anyone looking to import. Cypher should get his GTR today but mine will be thursday or friday because they had to do the x-ray scans on the container. This is random - no control. My customs broker has informed me I can be in the quarantine area for the 'opening' of the cotainer. I am waiting on a phone call to go to the quarantine area. They open the container and take car out. I make sure everything is there. They then do all checks on the car and provided it doesn't need a steam clean I drive home! Or straight to compliance! If it does need a steam clean I have to come back the next day and pay extra for it.

All worked out ok. The customs people have cleared the car (only took one extra day). No Shapel Coryby incidents either which is good. I should get it within the next couple of days. I am also allowed to be present at the 'unpacking' of the container. If it doesn't need steem cleaning I will be able to take the car straight away. I'm so excited that I just can't hide it! Boat has landed in Brisbane. My container has been randomly selected for X-Ray scans and paperwork checks! Damn it. This could take up to 4 days. And my shipping only covers me for 3 Days storage. So, if the GOVERNMENT takes to long I have to pay EXTRA storage costs. This is in addition to the $2500 the GOVERNMENT has already charged me in TAX on the car! Bastards.

Please define exotic? The boys at J-Spec (www.j-spec.com.au) often get ferraris and stuff come up in their mailing list. I know they are cheaper than buying here but I'm sure they wouldn't be cheap to comply?

No I havn't yet. I havn't recieved any info in the mail yet. Just waiting. Do you know who your customs agent is? If so, how did you find out? There must be some other people on here with cars on this ship. It will be arriving in Melbourne on the 14th of June, then Sydney on the 17th of June then Brisbane on the 19th. Bring on the Dori Dori!

Wow I hope I can get mine complied with the cage? Mine dips in so I think you can still open the sun visors. There is no way I will get under 90db. I'll sort something out! Good luck mate.

I have just purchased an RB24 powered Ceffy. I'm told it is a Tomei Stroker kit. It has a high flowed RB25 Turbo and all the other usual fun bits. Has anyone else got a motor similar to this? How does it perform? Any power figures? The car arrives on the 19th of June. Can't wait.

I wouldn't mind giving you a bit of a race either! I think the piece of mind is definitely worth the extra money for the shipping container. I wasn't promised anything about my bodykit but I am sure hoping it makes it here in 1 piece. There is no one around here with that kit that could do me any replacements. If my car went anywhere near a forklift the kit would be destroyed! Hopefully it doesn't require steam cleaning. It looks ok in the photos. Very clean. I would be happy to meet up when the the ship arrives. I'll PM my number to all who have a car on this ship in Brisbane closer to the time it arrives. I'm sure there will be more people finding out their car is on the ship closer to the arrival date.

I will certainly be requesting to be there when the container is opened. I will then take heaps of photos of everything so I will know if anything goes missing in customs. I think you just let the customs agent know that you want to be there? What are you going to do being from Noosa?

Yeah it is in a container. I want to make sure all my extra goodies make it with the car! It's so worth the extra money. I think the boat is going to Melbourne and Sydney as well.

Just got word my RB24 powered ceffy will be on voyage 16s from Osaka to Brisbane. The boat is the MOL Triumph. Should be arriving on the 19th of June. If there is anyone else with a car on this ship please let me know and we can team drift out of the docks!
