  1. I was also under the impression that Japs rate the HKS EVC as highly or even above the other mentioned EBCs.... dunno why they dont seem as popular here. Mebbe no fancy screen but the new EVC IV rectifies this now.
  2. the nismo one that came with my car seems not as 'smooth' as a regular shifter, but i think it is shorter - albiet feeling only a little bit shorter..... The c's shortshifter should definitely come in a marked box, kind of purple with the C's logo printed. They ALL come like that in Japan - saw it for myself. Shops were selling off all the C's shifters cheaply (cos they are now disappeared), but too bad there were only Pajero and Celica GT4 ones left....

hrm, has the glenny autobarn closed up already?
  4. The R33 is a huge coupe beast compared with the Prelude coupe I used to own. Wow, its like a woolly mammoth. But I like it more - cos u feel safer... and faster hehehe
  5. bummer rianto did u get an EPA notice to get your car checked for noise levels? Where were u nabbed? Is your car actually THAT noisy?? I dont remember so.

    Help!

Firstly welcome to SAU Vic. I dunno what problem it could be, but a lot of us go to Ice Performance in Cheltenham (not that close to Heidelberg I know), but they are a great bunch. Give a bell on 9512 7591 good luck
  7. What is the Japanese JASMA standard for the noise level on zorsts? Surely it cant be THAT loud, otherwise every dog and their neighbour would hear you hooning around at nite there. 'No one sleeps in Tokyo' - cos their exhausts are too farking loud hehehe.
  8. w00t. mate, sux your car was totalled congrats on getting a decent payout for the homeloan. I am a Jap car man through and through so I woulda gone some sort of Jap import, even if it is a Silvia K's, Ceffy, FC (mmmm, stop tempting myself) to thrash around somewhat. Matter of choice really. no - u cant cruise with us no more.... well.... ok u can then. keep visiting SAU though.
  9. Hey I don't mind coming along and helping out or summtin. Oh yeah, James, put me down for a T-shirt again this year. Any chance we can get some of those hot hot Jap promo gals from TAS04
  10. w00t. Is that a rare colour for GTTs or summtin? GTRs its common?
  11. Farkin mate. that is hella long time looking at a naked skyline interior. I tot u had it back aaages ago. Yeah, INASNT is right - free aint really free. Its 'Free - but wait a frickin long time for it' I'll get that e-mail to u shortly dude too. Oh yeah, also, what are u doing about mags nowadays? back to the stockies?
  12. Aaargh flex mate. That totally sucks. Mebbe, u might be better off with a different car right now? Cos in a few year's time u can get another R33 (not a SII tho)
  13. Rianto mate - i forgot that i need to attend a wedding (not mine) on Saturday. Shit. So I will have to be forced to change to Sunday. Can I change mate?
  14. hey boyz, what is the best place to get insurance if you are: - over 25 - rating 3-4 - no accident history - insured under own name for around 2-3 years What sort of premium do u reckon i should be gunning for? Famous is doing me bad at 2000 (under 25)
  15. Woohoo, yes yes, the place to be DEFECTED.
  16. James That sarks big time. Man I would be one pissed chimp if they got me for my moomoo wheel. How the heck are we supposed to get an original Japanese airbag wheel within 8 working days??? Mebbe I should start looking around now before that happens to me..... Does anyone know if you can get someone else as a 'proxy' to get your car cleared at Vicroads? I can't make it this week (unless I drive back all the way to Melbourne from Sydney!!)
  17. Thanks guys. Yeah they WERE being pricks, cos my body kit is over 10cm, and the exhaust is only slightly lower than the body kit, thats probably how they defected me - there was no measuring device used at all. Its funny how even a minor defect changes your opinion of cops.
  18. yeah boyz just a pain in the ass - working in Sydney next week - how the hell am i supposed to get my car during the work hours to Vicroads?!?. i actually went down to the local exhaust shop today and asked if they would raise the exhaust at the muffler (cos the resonator is right at the end, right?) and they said it couldnt be done cos if it is raised too much, it could melt electrical wiring and other shit near the body. Is that true? Cos when I was feeling around there, there was definitely a gap where it could be raised into. Anyways, I raised the rear suspension almost all the way and it seems to be at least 10.5 cm clearance at the lowest point. Whats the lowest legal limit?? Looks hella stupid, with the arse all high up and all now.
  19. Go to Malaysia and get em. They sell it with a 12Volt Cigarette adaptor plug and voltage converter and then u buy whatever pattern you like. Nismo, Kakimoto, Apexi, Ralliart etc etc. There is a switch to change the light-up pattern of the letters. I checked the price and it was converted to around 30AUD (which includes nismo sticker and the power adaptor). I figgered it too high a price to pay for 'rice'
  20. Thanks Shan for the advice. Rosanna Rd is sorta the 'fastest' route to my GF's house.... will need to re-route..... Aaaargh!! NOoooooo Danny!!!
  21. Ok ok, now it is my turn to join the fricking yellow sticker club.... just cos they got so much damn time on their hands Was driving peaceably down Rosanna Road towards Mill Park, when a divvy van decided to tail my arse and then finally pull me over. Apparently, as i found out later on from one of the 'nicer' officers (if there are such things), there had been some dicks dragging and racing around the area. This baldie officer, after getting my license, he promptly decided to look under the car and then tell me I was about an inch too low. He told me '.... well, you know your car is too low and it is very dangerous if you hit a child and they get under the car, they can get dragged along if it is too low....'. Fark me, this must be one skinny arse anorexic punk that can fit under 100mm or we must be living in oompa loompa land. Why not let us install fricking Japanese style vertex kits so that we SCOOP up the kids instead of trampling them???? So after something like 20 minutes (how hard is it to fill out a defect notice??), he gave the canary, and figgering I had no more reason to be polite, started ranting about how we skyline owners actually look after our cars and make sure they are running exceptionally well, and their real job should be to pull over POS bombs that are literally falling to bits. I told them that I wasn't part of some drag racing crap that was going on in the area and he pissed me off by saying '... thats what excites us....' Meh, at least they didnt fine me or make me get a roadworthy. So what to do? I probably need to get my car raised a little (thank goodness for height adjustable suspension) and I WILL need to get the exhaust raised - or whatever you call it, cos it didn't pass rego inspection first time (2nd time they didnt even check) So my question is - where should I go to get the exhaust raised? Anyone know someone who can do it around the South East Burbs? Thanks for reading my rant. Its been 6months and I have only been targeted for defect this once. I dunno - maybe I should consider myself un/lucky. Gonna be a problem once I actually start modding it :flamed:
  22. SydneyKid is pretty spot on actually. The HKS Hiperdampers I have very high spring rates. Even on the softest damper settings, they still are an extremely stiff ride. If they didn't come with the car, I probably woulda gone Whiteline or a European brand
  23. Yeah - i also think any of the words 'Skyline' or 'cruise' will sit well together with 'valentines' with the women.
  24. Yeah a cruise to the event would be nice. Sure to be a spectator provide there is an SAU contingent.
  25. Ay Rianto dude Any more space? Kinda thinkin of going again to get just a little more confident going 'clockwise'
