1. I have a stock 33 exhaust and 33 shocks/springs. Happy to lend them out in exchange for alcohol LOL
2. OK, I'll step up. I am happy to organize the event if needed, but would greatly appreciate help. Could you PM me if you have a car and will enter (assuming we get 4 or more cars). We had a great display last year (I missed out due to a car crash) so how many of last years group have cars suitable to show (either power or bling)
3. with the price of 34's now, just sell your 33 and spend the money on a 34. You will get a younger and fresher car, and the opportunity to spend lots more modding it up.
4. Did you see a todler in the car - if so pack up and move out tonight.
5. Good idea, but to clarrify Ronald McDonald House is for all famalies who are in Adelaide from the country or interstate (not just cancer kids). There are also kids at the Childhood Cancer Associations units in Prospect, and the Leucemia Foundation have units somewhere close to town, and there are others. We work with the kids at the all of these locations as well as in the hospital. (Its a great job ) Im happy to take the magazines into work after the others have finished reading them, I dont want to be gready, and sometimes a slow but steady flow of magazines is better than all at once.
6. I'll come past this weekend to collect whatever is left (If the others dont get there befor me they will miss out LOL)
7. I just got back from perth today, (there for a week) and spent plenty of time in Northbridge. Great place, lots of pubs and food. (Most had Coopers Pale) Not many imports, most seem to drive Lancers.
8. I'd love to get a few of your mags for the kids at the childrens hospital, the few we had were a huge hit with the teenagers, but over time they all disapeared. If anyone else has a few old copies they no longer need can you send them my way and I'll take them into work to share with the kids.
9. Didnt hear anything, and have only seen a few skylines so far in perth.
10. Thanks guys. We will hire a car for a day or two, so I hope to get out to see more than just the city. I think we will head up York way as it sounds like there are a few sights up that direction.
11. I just figured he was a kiwi Thanks for the ideas, certainly have a few more thgings to do now.
12. I'm flying over from Alelaide just for this cruise (well perhaps not just for the cruise), lookforward to seeing some of you and your cars on Sunday.
13. Thanks for the reply, do you have any more details on where the cruze is meeting up (I assume you guys PM such details to avoid unwanted attention)
14. As the topic states, my wife and I are flying into perth on Saturday and staying for 5 days. Just wondered if anyone had recomendations of things to see and do. We are staying close to the city center and will hire a car for a few days to get around. I understand it is a long weekend and wondered if anything special was happening? Guy
15. LOL - that time of the month again? All workshops have horror stories and people who wouldn't use them (and most of them can be backed up) I have used simon without any problems (and hence why i recommended him along with Martin at Willall) but I cant see that the comments were defamatory in the context of this thread.
16. You get a lot of bang for your buck with bikes dont you. (so long as you go second hand) With rising fuel prices there could be a lot more on the roads - which hopefully will make the cars a little more observant. I love the feel of riding a bike, but the poor condition of our roads and the lack of rider awareness of most drivers makes it a recipie to be a temporary australian. I reckon a 16yr old in a nur GTR would have a better life expectancy than an experienced bike rider these days.
17. I thought this was an SAU Spotted thread? Save the bike talk for the wasteland, or go to temporary_australian.com.au
18. wrong thread to continue this discussion - so deleted it
19. I agree its an image/lifestyle item, hence the comment (they have a nice sound and an image, but mechanically they are decades behind the Jap bikes) I can really apreciate a Hog as a work of art (especially when modified as much as yours) and its a part of the Harley culture to modify them (have any 2 owners got the same bike, seems most have added their own touch in some way). As you said though, not the best an going around corners or stopping quickly. The Aprilla is also a sexy looking machine
20. LOL - Now name an italian machine that is reliable, none of the above are. Ferrari = visit a mechanic after every road trip. Alfa = more rust and unreliability problems Maserati = more money than sence and very unreliable Ducati = You could never ride a duke when it was raining their electrics were that unreliable (until they went to Japan to source the technology) etc etc I've been around bikes and cars for some time now (im probably a lot older than you think) Italians pride themselves on style over substance, and have done for generations. A race prepared vehicle has little semblance to a regular road vehicle, it only has to last a few hours or a few hunderd k's (come to think of it, this is what most italian road vehicles do. LOL)
21. I have used Morpowa many times and was happy with their work. Many people on here recommend Boostworks as they are competativly priced, but I have heard whispers that their PFC tuning isnt so crash hot (not that its bad either). The other workshop I would recommend is Willall Racing (Sp?) as Martin Donnahn is supposedly the best in SA with the PFC.
22. LOL Since when have the Italians ever made anything that was well engineered or reliable? (They are only good at giving up) Some of the modern stuff is better than their old, but thats only because its no longer really italian (just using the name) Next thing you will tell us that a Harley is a good bike (they have a nice sound and an image, but mechanically they are decades behind the Jap bikes)
23. Very wise - I'm already taken
24. Even Des Higgins (the best workshop in SA IMHO) couldnt pull of a trick that good
25. Take it to a trusted suspension workshop (I dont know any down south, but can recommend some out north east) You dont want to find a stressed or fractured part when you are next out for a spirrited drive (Silly silly ) You may find there are many parts that should be removed and checked, but its better safe than sorry. Most parts are fine to source seccond hand so long as they are from straight half cuts rather than accident damage cars) new bushes, bearings etc though.
